As an Outsider Channel, we pride ourselves on giving our honest feedback. That being said, we are aware that many people will not agree with our views and opinions but we welcome the opportunity to have a conversation about these kind of issues and maybe even have you guys on the show, virtually to discuss these in a civilized manner. Thank you all for watching and please try to be respectful.

Wow, right off the playbook, nicely done. But yeah stainless is a pain, and it is almost impossible to avoid if you want a new appliance let alone a vehicle. I don't own a Tesla or stock, nor am I a 'rah rah' Musk can do no wrong fan, but i know a few things, lol. Musk was forced by the COURTS to buy twitter after trying to pull out of the deal when seeing twitter's books. His compensation package which included more stock was voided by the COURTS therefor he has less stock, so he has been basically working for free for 5 or 6 years at Tesla. The EPA itself sets the mileage, not the company, not sure who does the testing for the results though or the methodology. The info is out there, you just can't accept what you are spoon fed from media and 'haters'. Seems like a conspiracy of the likes for Preston Tucker is coming down on Musk, I just grab the popcorn and watch lol.

    • @Outsider.Reviews
      @Outsider.Reviews  7 หลายเดือนก่อน

@@michaelkaster5058 That is all great info, thank you. I will correct one aspect if you don't mind. The EPA does the testing but not on every vehicle, however the manufacturer decides which bracket they tell customers. They are usually given, best, worst and average range and then the manufacturer will chose which one they advertise. Tesla always goes with the best and is one of the only ones to do so, most other manufacturers use the more conservative numbers which is why when Edmonds or CR do their range test, Tesla vehicles Never achieve their range and others will and surpass it. I did appreciate reading your comment as it is informative and well thought out. We try to keep an open mind but we also like to just share our thoughts, although this was the first video we produce like this where we just let it all out but we enjoyed doing it and we look forward to the next one so grab that popcorn my friend and please keep watching.... maybe even subscribe? There are different kinds of "stainless steel which is mainly nickel. Some (cheaper) kinds have iron mixed in it. This is the kind that rusts.
When buying any stainless steel, use a trick employed by boaters. Take along a small magnet, touch it on the stainless steel. If it sticks it has some iron in it and it'll certainly rust. You are looking for non-ferrous stainless steel, that the magnet will not stick to, that will not rust.
You can use this method to test other items like nuts and bolts, stainless, brass, bronze, etc.
    .................................
Elon Musk should have known this, and so should have the buyers of these monstrosities.

A couple of armchair critics! If you are going to call out Elon Musk for lying or not making good products give better examples. We have seen much worse from the other major car companies 😂. Of course you are going to get rust spots on unprotected stainless steel. It's going to require a little bit of maintenance to keep it shiny. Same thing with polished aluminum wheels. Even on salted roads there's no way it will rust through. Have you seen how thick those body panels are? It's not for everyone and that's ok, maybe more bad a** trucks will come out thanks to Elon. It's about time someone made something unique, and compelling in the automotive industry. Maybe do some research before you talk about things. Falcon heavy didn't blow up. You are talking about a different rocket entirely. And they literally expected it to blow up. That's the R&D process. Many more will blow up before it succeeds. That's how it works, regardless of who is at the helm. The launch pad did get destroyed. Literally business 101 to expect that. If you address everything before hand, you don't know business and you will fail. It's called "Lean Startup".
And many many more things you got wrong.
You sort of got rust right, seriously flawed truck in many ways. But did you even talk about galvanic corrosion at all? Stainless steel does rust. It's in the elements in the alloy mixture. But it is more susceptible to corrod.

Here are some instances where Elon Musk has made misleading or false statements:
      * Tesla Production Goals: Musk has repeatedly set ambitious production targets for Tesla vehicles, often missing these deadlines. This has led to criticism that he overpromises and underdelivers.
      * Tesla "Full Self-Driving": The name of Tesla's advanced driver-assistance system, "Full Self-Driving," has been criticized as misleading. Despite its name, the system still requires active driver supervision and is not capable of fully autonomous operation.
      * "Funding Secured" Tweet: In 2018, Musk tweeted that he had "funding secured" to take Tesla private at $420 per share. This tweet led to a surge in Tesla's stock price, but the deal never materialized. Musk later settled with the Securities and Exchange Commission over this tweet, admitting that it was false and misleading.
      * Hyperloop Promises: Musk has made ambitious claims about the potential of the Hyperloop, a high-speed transportation system he proposed. However, progress on developing a working Hyperloop system has been slow, and some experts doubt its feasibility.

The trick is to not use cheap garbage stainless.
The DMC DeLorean was made with high quality and they never died.

@@chrisfurnier4790 sure you could. But you can't just clear coat stainless. It won't last. It's hard to get primer to stick to stainless.

@@specializ20 I know, that's why I say - go with the clear wrap. Would look even crazier with a holographic shimmer to it. Would look even more space age 😆

The fact that Tesla went with proprietary stainless steel and not high grade stainless is an issue but they did it to lower cost. Most ppl are doing a wrap to be honest. My issue is that this vehicle is very expensive for what you get and if you watch Lucky Lopez's new video about his Cybertruck which he wrapped, there are gap and alignment issues which speaks to the quality you can expect from Tesla

Rust is one of the most misunderstood natural processes. This video proves it!
Lets just wait until someone actually shows a proper video of how bad this "rusting" stainless steel it.
It's probably not what everyone is thinking right now...
In the meantime, thanks for the klick bait.

We are not debating the natural process of rust, nor are we doing a deep dive into why it is happening. Our view is that a brand new vehicle that cost 100k should not be showing any blemishes like that after 11 days of ownership. Would you be happy if you owned any vehicle that had rust or blemishes on it's body after less than two weeks? As for the click bait.... yeah it's a bit click bait'ish lol I'm not gonna B.S. you on that one lol

@Outsider.Reviews Could just as easily be a spec of something ferrous on the surface that has rusted making it look like rust. But that's just speculation too...

@@GdaySport lol you are avoiding answering that question like a politician my friend lol Would you be upset if you bought a 100k vehicle brand new and it would have issues like rust or spots on the paint within 11 days of ownership?

@@Outsider.Reviews obviously I would be upset if it was actually rusting. Just haven't seen anything that looks like it might actually be rusting, and I certainly wouldn't jump on the band wagon without being certain it was...

We think so too. As we start getting more and more actual owners accounts of the Cybertruck, we will see how it really is.
