    Fantastic video, not enough being talked about in regards to towing. You make all the right points as far as what we look for in a towing vehicle ! Not enough TH-cam channels really understand the points you cover, great job. Lots of us actually use our trucks for what they are designed for and nobody is really looking at these needs in a serious manner.

      It would only make sense to show a different count for them being used as well. ie. if there are 2 pull thrust and 10 back ins it may show eg. 8 available but 2 pull-ins could be used with a line.

    I think they nixed the air compressor idea because hand helds are more powerful, and the Cybertruck uses it air a lot to let you go up and down quickly as much as you want. Rivian needs to recharge after a little use per OutofSpec. Per lead engineer at Tesla who was asked about it.

    Personally I think third party will come up with this but dedicated left and right screens with a centre display console like the F9 for the 3/Y. Then you can add cameras on the tail of your trailer to link up with your left and right displays.

    Great video. I can't wait to see if Telsa includes these features. If the toe hitch extends, the departure angle is decreased and those off-roaders won't like it. But it's a give and take for functions. They will be a tow CT package with a huge battery someday.

    Great video! I agree with all the points you outlined and especially the last point about an optional Cybertruck version built for towing with an extended range battery (at least the 500+ miles listed in the original specifications) that doesn't require the loss of 1/3 of the bed space for the placement of an extended battery pack. Hopefully, Tesla views this video and seriously considers all the towing improvement suggestions you covered. Maybe an improved towing version of the Cybertruck will be incorporated in Tesla's quad motor Plaid version of the Cybertruck that Elon Musk previously announced??? A pre-wired camera connection at the hitch and camera kit for connecting rear and side mounted cameras on the trailer might help solve the towing mirror problem, but Tesla may also need to add more screen real estate in the cabin to have the ability for constant viewing of the camera video while towing. Also, does anyone know if Tesla has provided any information about the current Cybertruck design being structurally engineered with attachment points to mount a 5th wheel tow hitch in the bed?

    • @Butter_EV
      @Butter_EV  4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Thank you for the watch and support 🙏🏼 I believe that most of these “issues” will be fixed via software updates as well as future iterations of the CT. In regard to the 5th wheel question, I could be wrong but I don’t think you can do 5th wheel towing with a unibody

  • @sector7offshore
    @sector7offshore 7 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

    So youre suggesting a cybertoemaster trim. Big Mirror reduce your range significantly. TFL did a test comparison with the RAM and found they added 7 mil/gal on a Cummings diesel. It would be better served using remote left and right camera's that you attach to the tail of your trailer. Backup camera zoom and a lineup ball indicator graphic.additional TPMS gauges displayed. Better Trailer AI totranslate range with different trailers that the user can library. Otherwise the Cybertruck is an oversized car, not a truck. I'm surprised Tesla hadn't worked these features into their new flagship vehicle. Update charging sites for pull thru trailering. Could you imagine having to unhook an ice vehicle to fill up your tank. To extend the hitch further out the mount would need to be reenforced. Built in Air compressor with the Cybertoemaster.

    • @Butter_EV
      @Butter_EV  7 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I understand the range loss with larger mirror but if they were able to move in and out when needed that would help when not towing. Using the built in cameras on the CT and producing a trailer camera system could replace the need for larger tow mirrors.

    Thanks for covering the aspects of towing! Question, can you remove the tailgate? When I hook up my travel trailer to my F-250, and load my motorcycle on the back of the truck, I have to remove the tailgate. With the tailgate down, it would not be possible to tow the trailer. Just wondering, if Tesla took that under consideration with the CT. Thanks!

    I would like to see a data cable so that 3rd parties can make all these accessories possible to integrate with the system. This cable can output camera feeds in real time and also accept 3rd party camera feeds.. That makes all this possible. This data cable must be available on the outside and on the inside.

    I get the feeling you haven't towed much. I say that because in my years towing, I always wanted the tow ball closer to the rear axle, not further rearward. I would be willing to deal with a lot of inconvenience to have that tow ball as far forward as possible. 11,000 lbs. is nothing to sneeze at, it's safer and more stable and greatly increases the nimbleness when backing up.

    • @Butter_EV
      @Butter_EV  7 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I’ve been towing for over 20 years and I hear what your saying but at the same time I never exceed 80% of what the tow vehicles tow capacity is so I’m not overly concerned with needing the weight directly over the axle. My Ram can tow over 20,000 lbs yet my trailer is 7,000 lbs.

      As a Ram 3500 owner I can confidently say that this is not a better truck than any one ton truck. But was the CT supposed to compete with a one ton? No. Elon has always stated that the CT is modeled after and is supposed to compete with the Ford F-150. So do I think the CT is as good or better than a 1/2 ton pickup? Absolutely. Does any 1/2 tow a 5th wheel? Nope. So we can’t expect the CT to as well

      It would be nice to have a battery pack that "lives" in the trailer. That way you don't burden the normal driving of the truck carrying around an "extra" battery. And you can charge it separately, and for campers/travel trailers it could run the accessories in place of a generator when boondocking.
