I thought that the lookout sites had 50.000 units of Jaspet. Also Rogue drone asteroid infestation site has 80.000+ m3 of Omber out of which 15.000 m3 in the first room is only protected by 3 drone Apis. The 3rd room has the most Omber and I am able to mine it solo by packing 2 Mobile tractor units in an Endurance, ejecting the mined ore to be scooped up by the tractors and in the end coming to pick up the tractor units and ore. Nice video by the way. 😊
Oh, I didn't notice the asteroid infestation, that site is so bad loot wise that I have not touched it in a while. As for ore values, I went with eve wiki numbers, and each type of lookut seemed to have different numbers iirc. Also, thank you :)
Thanks for creating a video about this subject which is not so known for people starting out (and much easier). Agree on having an alt or buddie help you out. Disagree on what is stated by playing solo. You can just end the anomaly in a normal way and get it off radar. The rules are as following. 1) Have your mining ship placed before hand in a station the system where the lookout is. If you leave the system after popping the lookout, the site will be permanently gone! So this is mostly the annoying part but I have several mining ships close by at intervals just to clear this site.. 2) Clear the site with a ship of your choice. Sure you can use a mining ship, to clear the site with drones but leaves it open for people to take a look and annoy you. Or pop your nice lill MTU. 3) Make sure you bookmarked the site or one of the rooms (as it is off radar). 4) Go off site to the station where your mining ship is and swap your ship. Return within say 2,5 - 3 minutes to the bookmarked spot and the site will be there. I say that this is the tricky part because when using a barge the time span for aligning, warping etc might be just a tad too long. A venture is never a problem. Did this plenty of times with succes. 5) Go to the entrance and mine yourself silly. Yup will take long to clear and besides using MTU;'s (which makes yourself gankable) you can use either jetcan mining and pick it up later with a transport ship or ship the stuff out to a station. If you do the latter then if the site is within 2 hours after popping the 2,5-3 minutes still apply. If it is longer then 2 hours, leaving the site will despawn when you leave it within 1 minute. So a lot of choices to be made here. All depended on how many people around and the risk you want to take. As stated by @timosarpola7389, yup the 'rogue drone asteroid infestation' is a similar but easier site with only omber. But it only allows for frigates. So venture and endurance are max. While lookout can use barges and porpoise for boosting. Another thing to point out is that if you are in a busy system or a system which has been invaded by pirates (so beltmining not possible) you can always use pve combat sites for getting the lower kind of ores without anyone bothering you. This video was geared towards getting the lowsec/nullsec ore in a lowrisk manner. Thats why I state this. As a bonus. When downtime is on a convenient time, close by and you did not pop the 'rogue drone asteroid infestation' site, it will respawn the first two chambers and the omber is back that you farmed earlier. This is not so for the lookout . Seems they nerfed it recently.
That is some interesting insight about the solo mining lookouts. I myself dont really like jetcan mining or dropping ore into mtu as it takes just one guy to pop it all just to try suspect baiting, but yeah, the method you written down sounds very good.
Interesting idea. I personally only mine moons and ice (ls enjoyer), but some guys in my corp will most certainly find this useful. I have had good luck with a .5 island thats like 3 j from where I live, either we end up with most of the ore, or a few nice kills.
