This is my first video going over things I have learned playing the game and trying to spread my knowledge. I try to stay to the point to help you get to earning some income sooner.
Im going to tell you how to find, how to fit your ship, and how to in my opinion, safely mine gas out there. Watch out for Ordinary Gas Clouds!

If I had 40 million ISK for the gas harvesting skill book - I would not be a new bro or having currency flow issues.
You can get the skill for 30mil, check the other regions with evemart.

you can earn 40 million isk on a exploration frigate going to nullsec in less than an hour, just need less than 2 million on investment

NEVER use 8AU or higher for scanning. You do not need it.
ALL points in space are at MAXIMUM 4AU from the objects in space( stars, planets, gates. NOT player structures, only NPC things).
So, what you want to do is to find a object INSIDE the red balloon( that representing "possible positions" of WHs or anomalies) and place your "dragable blue cube scanner" DIRECTLY on that object. Place your distance at 4AU, scan and then for each scan you make your distance smaller.
So 4-2-1-0.5.
But sometimes you will get, what I call, cartoon weights- two bubbles that are attached with a line. LOOK!!!!! And choose the one that is on the very edge of your scanners- it is 100% that one. Always.
For dot with a circle, I center the scanner and make my range bigger then the circle. Again- 100% works.
I usually start at 8 just because it’s habit but I do know about this thanks for sharing for others tho
Thx man. This is helpful for newbros. Mining is boring but it has its perks - i used to mine with corpmates, talling jokes, loking at memes in the meantime :) But for solo activity its boring as hell. Gas mining is much better - more adrenaline, more isks and it teaches you something helpfull to stay alive in space. Fly safe o7

Small correction: You can get mining to lvl5 on a Alpha account. However, you can train the gas cloud harvesting skill only to lvl2 unfortunately.
Why train to level 4 gas harvesting if you only use 2 scoops?

yes! there are keybinds for it! i bound it to my mouse since i did so much scanning. holding ALT and mouse wheel should change AU size
