Lol, I never really had a problem with hunters in ls. Ok, sometimes a hunter enters system and won't leave until you do, but I successfully got gas, and even mined ice in LS, it's a matter of knowing locals

Going to null in my experience is basically limiting what you can do. Been there twice, quit it both times to go back to hs. Sure, I might not make 100 bil a month, but why would I need such ISK? I explore, run homefronts, huff gas in ls and whs, mine all over the place, do indy, and have fun yeeting into any type of pvp I want, without limiting myself to living in 1-2 regions. Ns blocks pull people in with promise of riches, which they have nothing to spend it on, because the moment they go out of the region alone or enter hs, they get dunked by neuts or perma wardecs that blocks do nothing about

So I myself prefer to make less (still made enough to buy 3x 6 month omega packs with plex on my 3 chars) and have plain old fun

@@GildiiAuscent you are right and its good you never made that insane amount of money! that was my problem i did try going back to regular ways like mission running but alway had that thought in my head "i would made 20 times as much doing nothing" it just killed the joy of working for a goal like i had it before, buying the first navy raven, navy ballistics and so on. Keep doing what you do and enjoy it :)

i had a different experience same result i ran lvl 4s and mined occasionally pretty much all high sec i would scheme and wheel and deal trying to find ways to make more money kill things faster ETC then i ran an incursion all night they money that FLOWED in meant that literally anything else was a waste of time i eventually tried Null sex and it was okay i made some money but it was in a super spicy area of null so you couldnt really do anything without asomeone trying to kill you but if i had a null sec space where i could run sites all day yeah i could see that being insane when it comes to money the only thing i didnt get deep into that i wanted to try was WH space but it was a LOT of effort coupled with tons of people who were SUPER sweaty

@@GildiiAuscent if afk-miners would play the game and watch local, use d-scan, and put together a fit that makes sense (like anyone else that actually plays the game) they would mitigate almost all of the risk of getting "ganked." instead of doing this people either sell plex to pay for named modules and sit afk in the citadel, or they do some other in-game activity to pay for their faction modules. in the latter case they should really know better than to commit hundreds of millions of isk to grid without taking some level of precaution. I have zero sympathy for these people

Yeah, keys being dropped for shipcaster allowing for 2 way travel would be good and encouraging more combat. For the lp penalty, that is a great idea, could be that first offense starts a timer, like 12 h one, and the more you do it, the longer it gets, just like the red jump timer for using capitals works

Mining aligned works, if you are at your pc and have a higgs anchor. Most ppl in hs will just sit afk though, so the advice is mostly at them. Unless, you mean align as in move, and stop your ship, then as I had a discussion with someone here already, that is a myth

@@GildiiAuscent It's been years since I played, a lot of game mechanics have changed but people haven't. Fitting a cheap afterburner and aligning to a station for near instant warp has been the meta for a long time. Not just for semi-afk mining in high sec, but for scooping ice and stealing the most valuable ores from private moons in low sec.

Yep, it's high sec, but nowhere should be completely safe, or else value of evrything grinds to 0. But a balance must be struck, because if they get driven out of the game, then eve grinds to a halt

That is not true. The only place I ever got ganked while mining was low and null, because you can just easily attack anyone. If you prepare in HS, you can discourage gankers to the point they look for other targets. As for shuttle kills, do you understand why they do it? Because will either move super expensive pods in a shuttle that falls apart when you sneeze at it, and autopilot those at that, or move billions upon billions worth of blueprints in them. If people would stop that, we would see a drop in shuttle kills in hs

Yeah, mining in null is a completely different beast, as if you go afk, you can come back you your ships bubbled, at which point you wont survive at all

Yes, higgs anchor is the way to go for non afk mining, but most people just afk it and do it for days upon days

A compact afterburner cycled once does the same, but maybe they changed that? Higgs anchors were great for closing wormholes, and for playing shoot and scoot.

The thing is that you would be running at 2/3 your max speed, and also never fit a prop on a barge, you lose tank. at 2/3 your max speed you are ready to warp in the direction you are aligned to. and at 2/3 your max speed you are moving slower than a pod. so you can style moving super slow a good while before needing to change the place you are aligning to. So if a bad gets in hit warp and you are off in the second. The AB will take 10 seconds before you get off. It's like getting web to warp off.

​@@TheNissaba After looking through recent procurer kills on zkillboard, majority of them were using the recommended AB fit, or they're on the winning side using a bait fit procurer. I didn't see a single procurer kill with a higgs anchor fitted, so I'd say that's the way to go! I usually focused on getting my Orca docked first (Cloaking device, MWD, etc.), although I've rarely had to run from gankers. Seeing 20 characters in a region that all belong to the same guy and only 9 of them are mining may have deterred them?

@@MichielDeSnuyter The Higs is good I think if you are actively mining. as is this will change the alignment time from 14s to 13s, and will change the raw 128m/s to a crawling 32m/s, setting your speed to the 2/3 of this you are moving at 21m/s, so it will take time before you get out of the rock range if you have mining boost on the field. The con is that you need to warp off and in to get to any new location and that the warp speed falls to 2,85 AU/s, just a bit slower than a battleship.

Procurer could be one barge that is tanky enough to use one, but others are paper thin compared to a proc, so its always better to tank rather than try getting better align times

Webbing it when it aligns will help, but having it webbed from the start might not. Not to mention, 99% of orcas run on the indy core that takes a lot of time to spool down. You are then either without it, or they never went for it

It is the steadiest but also one of the slowest ways to get isk. But, if you got something to take care of and can be semi afk, its still isk in the wallet at the end of the day

Had to swap from phone to PC for this one :D First of all, thanks for the kind words, I do try making informative content that people might find and get a little bit better at eve, rather than going for sensations and the next trendy topic to purely push views. I't just my hobby. As for the arguments you used: If by prealigning you mean align and stop your ship, that is not how aligning works in EVE. I did make a video titled "Myth testing - prealign bias and more | EVE Online" where I tackled that myth and if you are stationary, your align time does NOT change regardless of your ship alignment in space. If it comes to using a higgs anchor, that's good in null where people actively mine and get out, rather than HS where most would just get out of range. For the small shield extender, I ended up going with it because you cannot fit 2 compact shield hardeners on a covetor, unless you downgrade one of the two mining laser upgrades to T1, which I know would get harder and harder to convince covetor pilots to use. Exhumers can get up to a large shield extender with their fitting space, which is what I put in, though for Hulk to fit one, it had to be a faction one, but it's worth it imo if it pushes the EHP even more. For Orcas, if you move them around, 500 MN is good to align in 10 s, though, it won't help if gankers simply catch you with a core running, then no real shortcut to warp off will help, other than just overheating everything and praying they screwed up their numbers. As for swapping a scanner to point to rocks for your alts, that's a nice tactic. Tanking for locals is a good shout, looking into which damage types they prefer to prepare for that can save a ship for sure.

You beat me to the punch. nicely written. Emphasis on bookmarks, 75% speed alignment to somewhere safe and actively paying attention. might add niche two things that I did to safe a Orca. If the orca is somehow bumped and it is clear that it will not make the warp, have a barge attack the orca and sacrifice itself to get concord on grid asap. Have all drones fleet assigned to orca and don't warp the barges have them slow boat to some bookmarks or Q double click .. just don't warp them as it will break connection with the drones. This way concord is on its way sooner as the gankers might have anticipated and they have to deal with a swarm of drones. This might give the time as they have to adapt to this. Drones are not a magic wand, they can be dealt with by the gankers but it is at least -1 pilot on their side to have appropriate kite. These two things slightly increases the chances for more mistakes, buying time, getting the warp off, etc. playing with higgs anchor or duelling and webbing to get the speed down and still be aligned at 75% speed might be great.

Staying aligned does not matter if ship speed is 0.

I took 2 ships in my video where I tested it, exact same align time and all. Fleet warp took them at the same time. If your ship has no speed, it is a point in space for the game, as there is no vector attached to it. Only time it matters is when you MJD, where game checks your last direction. But otherwise, direction does not matter, which is why you can send a freighter into warp while model is 90 or more degrees away from its waep direction, if you web it

@@GildiiAuscent Hey Fair enough, more EVE content creation the better no shade. Regarding Align. the technical answer is Yes you are correct. The practical answer is Acceleration and "turning" have a large part to play with larger align times. When you use a Web you reduce the Speed TOTAL the ship can have. So it "turns" faster in relation to its total speed. Less forward thrust means higher rotational ratio of thrust. Same way the Cloak MWD trick works and the Base Orca MWD "trick" and the Higgs works. its all just manipulating the Acceleration to Agility to total speed ratio. Without these Effects you end up fighting your own acceleration speed while attempting to align. notable exception being capitals and Gate jumps. In application this essentially just means reduce your speed before you attempt a warp. additionally skills can play a large role in how your ship performs in space. So when your pre-aligned, acceleration is a more significant potion of the Ratio when attempting to warp. this reduces the volume of variables that could impede your warp. Correct The model is not determinant to the "alignment" of the ship. But you also don't regularly see ships flying backwards either, unless its on Gates. --when you land somewhere after warp the model is inline with the game alignment. They can become unaligned fairly easily with Webs and gates.-- In regards to your test. Using Ventures for your test also ignores the Tick rate limit of 4 (the ventures align time) You see the first venture finish its pre-warp cycle before the tick is over, but it stops and waits for the tick. if you use larger hulls with a larger align time without web, you will likely see a difference. Anecdotally its saved me MANY times, primarily in PVE situations vs ganks (l4's and Ded's) My "concept" could also be reworded to say don't sit still. Either by aligning with a minimal speed. a point of which i failed to mention. someone kindly commented also with the same concept but they use 75% speed. while we disagree on total it should be noted that even .1 MS maintains your "alignment" Most celestial's are on the same plane so Stopping usually works out. but if they aren't and you have to go straight up to get out of the belt. you need to stay aligned at .1 MS. in this case you are 10000000% correct stopping is actually detrimental to you. Blahhhh long again. I feel like its all important. Shield Extenders. Ah yes i did mean Large compacts for T2's my bad its been a number of years since i left when they changed Capital BP's. My hulk's are DCU x1 Mining x2 Multispec 2x. Em Gist c? x1 and Large LSE x1(might be Caldari). With the Overclock Rig you can fit it all with 90% max skills. i think you need Mining upgrade 5? T1's i usually just go bulkheads and DCU call it a day. They aren't worth enough to have to min max with faction and such, and insurance is a thing so. its really only newbros that need any fits which means you can't really get the best out of it anyways. (no shade. this sounds like I'm shitting on your fits. i promise. at worst im saying Survey scanner though a meme probably isn't as bad as it could be.. its not empty? lol) Orca: That's fair. I just hate waiting for the Orca to Warp regardless of tank so its just default for me. You didn't give any Orca fits. Might be a thought to link some. The armor links was a good idea i hadn't entirely thought of. I'm usually the "lead" Orca anyways, but i did it a lot when the Orca had "Ventures" for drones. You can more or less assess the rocks visually even. If the whole belt is a tiny string of small rocks, someone depleted it before last downtime and it will not have well sized rocks. If it has those big veldspar rocks, it should be good to go and for afk, focus down veldspar

@@GildiiAuscent As I typed this, I decided to take a Retriever out to 0.5 to mine Empire Border spawns, Ytirium. I had all the known ganking orgs & alliance on my red list, none were in local. I let my guard down a bit and watched YT vids, while keeping eye on local for reds. Didn't notice 3 Catalysts jumping in system until they were on top of me. Chewed through 38K EHP easily, but at least pod escaped (those implants are far more costly).. It turns out, it was literally another miner there who wanted all the Ytirium for himself, so he booted up his alts to remove the competition. It's super lame because while his alts are worthless flying cheap gank fits so its pointless to even hunt them down. There is literally no counter play unless I also pay $ multi-box ganking setup and do it back to his main.. and thats just stupid since I would be rewarding CCP for bad game design.

Ganking or getting a speedy stabber to tell him thank you could also work. Or next time get a procurer and wath him scramble for way more ships

@@GildiiAuscent He's one of Goonswarm's industry op, chasing Isogen heavy Ytirium to compress & jump to null. When they are active, they gank all rival miners not in their corp. lolz Literally nothing smaller players can do about such a situation, only option is to do something else not mine.

Because if you keep losing them, gankers will set up shop in your system and farm you. I've seen them do that to whole corporations, so at some point you won't really be able to mine just because they keep popping you
