Give Steve any song and he can make it his own. Steve has a set of pipes on him no one else ever has. He also is a great person. I love Steve.

2 of the most distinctive male vocalists of 70's and 80's. Kenny has duet with Stevie Nicks "Whenever I Call You Friend" (I mentioned it in the live chat)

Kenny does an interview where he said they just wanted to do a simple song together. Maybe why a few extra “don’t fight it” in the lyrics. He said they were both in the studio singing at the same time. But non the less, it is just so enjoyable to hear those voices just soaring to the great highs. I is on my favorite rotation. Listen to it every day and don’t get sick of it. Just brings a smile to me in thinking, especially with Steve Perry, how great of voices they had.

Over his very long career Kenny has managed to sing, pop, rock, r&b, country, folk and children songs. His vocals are amazing, always.

    Love me some Mr. Perry!!!
Fun Fact!!! Perry was on the road when this amazing song was made!! Kenny had laid his tracks down at his recording studio and Perry laid his tracks while on the road!
My best friend and I were HUGE Classic Journey fans back in the day (well I'm still a Classic Journey fan). And I remember when this song first it the air waves. It was played alot back in the day. It's still a great rockin' song, after all these years!

@@mikestevenson576 ....... Yeah, maybe they were. It's my understanding that the song was written and recorded while Perry was on the road. Kenny did his part while Perry did his while on the road.
      So, who knows!!...lol...

Great reaction! This collaboration was the one of my dreams, being a fan of both Kenny Loggins and especially Steve Perry. I loved it the first time I heard it in 1982 and still do to this day. It has that early Rock n' Roll influence from both their backgrounds, with their vocals showcasing their individual strengths. You can't help but be in a better mood after hearing it.

I don't know if you've reacted to Journey at all - if not, it's a must. Mother Father live in Houston will knock your socks off. Steve Perry was a vocal genius (and still sounds pretty good).

This song was nominated for Best Rock Performance by a Duo or Group with Vocal at the 1983 Grammy Awards. The guitarist is Pat Benatar's husband, Neil Giraldo. Why Pat and Steve never did a duet is beyond me. The Earth would explode.

The Kenny Loggins dive is deep, and begins in the 70's with Loggins & Messina. Two of their very best are Pathway to Glory and Angry Eyes, then Kenny's later solo stuff, like This Is It, Conviction of the Heart,(a real banger!!) Leap of Faith, Footloose, (yes, from the Movie!) so don't hold your breath at the edge of the rabbit hole, just jump right in, you won't be disappointed, I promise!
Thanks to my 3 favorite guys on You Tube!! Best wishes for this new year!

When you are pleading with someone, you tend to repeat it... thus, "Don't Fight It". Always listen for the emotion in a song. If you do this, the repetition will be less bothersome. Great overall reaction of a great, underrated song. Perry is the best, btw.

    Two songs you'll love--

If you've watched the " We Are The World " music video. Kenny Loggins and Steve Perry have solos in the song. Standing next to each other Steve's solo comes right after Kenny's solo. I wonder if their duet came before or after they were in the song.

We are the World came after 'Don't Fight It' by a couple of years. 'World' came out early 1985. I believe 'Don't Fight It' was Fall 1982 --- my Sophomore year in college. We'd listen to the top 10 songs played by B94 out of Pittsburgh -- and this was number one for at least a week.

Great reaction! Keeping on the topic of 80s songs you guys should do a reaction to another ELO song! I recommend Secret Messages! Its the title track and opening track of their album Secret Messages in 1983. It's a unique song that's a bit different from what their known for. It's one of my all time favorite songs. You guys would be one of the first to react to one of ELO's songs from the 80s

Pitty, that this song has no video. Maybe that's why it peaked only on #17 / 12 weeks on Hot 100. Unusual thing - it plummeted from the #17 all the way to #76 right next week.

Hello gentlemen, thought I take a moment to say Hi! I recently subscribed to your channel. I found it very entertaining. I saw your reaction video review for April Wine “Roller” and laughed my A-Off. They are definitely Rockers! I thought I might suggest for your consideration their song and official video “I Like to Rock”. If the over under bet line for making your playlist is 1 minute, I’ll bet the under. I know you’ll love the 3 guitars and the drums, but the bass player finally gets his dues paid for with this song.I would also like to suggest to you to classic groups and songs that have great guitar rifts; The Outlaws, “Green Grass and High Tides” and Blue Oyster Cult, “Veteran of the Psychic War”. And for your consideration in the Horn Section of music the great Band Chicago, with “Feeling Stronger Everyday” , “25 or 6 to 4” & “Questions 67 & 68”. I think you might like their rabbit-hole of music. Until later, greeting from Rochester, NY. Keep up the good work! Thanks again

Did You notice the whip sounds? They recorded this on the sound stage where the Indiana Jones movie crew were recording sounds for the movie. So I guess they sampled the whip sounds and plugged them into the song.
also 80's mega star Pat Benatar's husband was playing the wild overdriven guitar.

Angry eyes by logging and Messina, their live version is fire but jenny had hits before going solo and then hitting it big with this collaboration with Steve, a collaboration with Stevie nicks and the title tracks for the films footloose and top gun. Steve and Kenny share their long time money managing attorneys and entertainment firm and had just performed together on the USA for Africa iconic track.

Not a roller coaster.. just proper song structure....Intro... Verse ..Chorus ... Verse.. Chorus.. Bridge...Solo...Chorus .. Outro ...Back when music was real and played by real musicians.. even new music figure as it ends. Young people today have way too short attention span. This is a cool song, infinitely better than most of what radio has played the last 20 years or so, but it barely broke the top 20 back when it was new... that's how good music had to be to make the radio and chart at all.
