Honestly if I was in a runDisney marathon, I'd be walking the whole thing & getting photos with the characters lol. I'm not a runner at alllllll.
Its so interesting how the Disneyland marathon is structured so differently than the WDW one. In World, you run the streets and then you run through the park.
I ran my first half 2 years ago at the WDW half but really just walked it cause I also didn't really train but it was still such a pleasant experience! It was so hard but so rewarding. and then last year I lost my voice cheering on the runners as a cast member because our restaurant was still open but it was in the middle of the route so we just cheered people on haha. Congrats on your finish!

I've run a lot of the races at disney world but none on the west coast but I wana do coast to coast sometime! This was awesome!!
We started in the same corral! But of course I didn't see you. This was my second half marathon and i beat my time but almost 20 minutes this time. I love these marathons and they definitely motivate me to be better.

I was actually there at the half marathon on Sunday performing with my city band and I saw you and I was like oh my god is that her??? And I was freaking out inside and yeah congrats on finishing it!!!!
This video convinced me to do a Disney marathon and drag my mom with me so we can train for it. It looks like lots of fun! We're hoping to be able sign up for the TInkerbell Marathon in May, as soon as we get sufficient funds for it

Awesome job, I was there in September to do their Dumbo challenge and to get my coast to coast. Next Disney run for me is Star Wars: Dark Side in April.

Honestly I had a mild heart attack when I saw Black Widow and Hawkeye face characters like I WANT THAT
I would have go just to take pictures with Hawkeye and Black Widow because they're my absolute favorite marvel characters oh and the people dancing, sounds fun
I would absolutely love to do a Disney marathon one day but I am unable to do too much physical activity or I risk passing out and other fun health stuff. The most I would probably be able to do is a 5k. Thank you for taking us along on your run!

if it makes you feel better, the mile marker people dont actually pick you up :) haha...i only know this because on my 3rd disney half, i sprained my ankle & got behind the balloons & still finished. so if you ever get close to them again, don't panic

AWESOME!!! I have done 3 Tinker Bell Half Marathons and am going back this next May for my 4th! I am bringing my daughter (who will be 10 in April) and she is going to do the 5K and the 10K with me! Great Job! Do you have more runDisney in your future? I know you did one of the TINKS before too... Great job Sarah! PS - I had never run a step before 2012... I decided to train and do TINK in 2013... that was my 1st Half... I have now done 19 Half Marathons... runDisney inspired me to change my fitness life... It sure has! (to quote Baymax... I am not fast... but I finish!)

So they are pretty strict about the 16 minute mile? I was supposed to do the Disneyland half back in September, but had some health setbacks. It's still a dream of mine to be able to run one. It looks so magical hahaha or as magical as a half can be 😉
Running a Disney Marathon is on my bucket list! I WISH I could do the Avengers marathon (so I can Disneybound as Black Widow), but it was totes sold out before I knew it existed. My DREAM is the WDW princess marathon, but that's also sold out; maybe next year. I've started training but my soonest opportunity is the WDW Star Wars Marathon. When did you sign up for this marathon?

Is it just me or do freshly cut bangs not like to cooperate when it comes to working out? And that's not a troll or negative comment either, I have the problem when working out that they do the slick over because I'm sweating and it's frustrating! Congrats on the marathon though :)

They've currently suspended Disneyland runs for the time being, but still have races taking place in Florida and Internationally.
ive always wanted to do one of these but im iffy lol like i can walk a mile in 12-15 mins and since i rarely do any physical activity im like half dead i cant imagine what a marathon would do to me lol
Disney also offers 10k's and 5k's if that's more your style!
Do you have to run most of it to finish on time or can you just walk the whole thing and still finish it?
+TheMadTeaPatty You still have to maintain a 16 minute mile, which can be achieved by walking for most people.
Have you ever ran Disney in Florida? It is rough.
This has made me realise how lazy and unfit I am. Maybe I should do more, a Disney Marathon sounds good to me.

Can people just go to cheer on or do you need to buy tickets for that too?
I think you can cheer on the streets, but if you want to cheer inside the parks you have to pay.
If the parks are not yet open, spectators can go in and cheer with paying admission.
Do you have to run because like I can walk 13 miles but I can't run lol

+bethismagical From what I've read, you only have to keep a 16 min per mile pace, which is speed walking pace for some people. I'm hoping to do one soon!
as long as you're in front of the person who marks the end of the race (like those people who are at the end of Disney parades) you should be good

Has anyone ever told you that race etiquette mandates that walkers stay to the right side of the course? This video looks like you are walking right down the middle and blocking people who are trying to run. Neglect training, make videos, I don't care what you do, but don't get in the way of people who are legitimately trying to run the race.
If you'll notice, I'm to the right when space gets narrow. When there's lots of space, I pull out my phone wherever I stop running - because I am also running. Untwist ya pants.
