The fact that Peter Panic didn’t see himself as an influencer was really cool to me! Just a dude going about his life doing things for the joy of it and having that much of an impact, it's really wonderful.
The fact that Jeff reached out to thank his idol and give back just shows what a great person he is. It's not often you get to thank someone who inspired you like that.
To think that he was just a child doing juggling shows in the kitchen of his parents home. Amazing how little moments often spark something much bigger.
Jeff's honestly about his failures with four-walling is aside of show business we don't often hear about. It's easy to think "They've got a show in Las Vegas, must be rolling in it"
I know Jeff, he is the real deal. He gives back so much to his community and anywhere really that will help others in need of a smile. Just the time in puts into making the charity stuff happen is commendable, I don't know how he does it all even with the help of his charity board and volunteers.
The part about his grandma being his first audience was so relatable. Reminds me of when I used to put on little shows for my family as a kid. It's cool to see how those small moments of encouragement can lead to something big
His story of doing charity shows reminded me of a time I joined a local group to perform at senior centers. It wasn’t fancy, but the reactions we got made it all worth it. It really makes you see the value in using your skills for good.
The Peter Panic story is wild. It's like a real-life "pay it forward" situation. Makes me wonder about all the people who've had an impact on my life without even knowing it.
hearing about his financial struggles while trying to make it big in vegas was stressful. maxed out credit cards, borrowing money, sleeping in the dressing room... that's some real behind-the-scenes stuff you don't usually hear about.
@gabriellehalette thank you for sharing :) I believe it's important to share the real struggle because so many people don't, and they make it seem easier than it really is. I still have times when I struggle financially to be honest...
How fantastic is this man!!! Even his non profit aligns with his higher purpose. Using his skills and recruiting others to bring smiles to kids in hospitals is such a meaningful way to give back.
@miamay626 aww, thank you! That's very sweet of you to say! I've had a LOT of support over the years from family and friends. I have not done any of this alone! Even discerning my true passions came from countless hours of talking openly and honestly with supportive friends and family. I am very grateful for this support!
The way he brought his childhood hero on stage for his last show was so dang sweet and wholesome.. Kinda makes me want to reach out to some of the people who inspired me when I was younger!
Wasn't expecting to get emotional over a juggler's life story... but that hospital story really got to me. It's amazing how a simple act of kindness can have such a huge impact. Makes me want to do more to help others, even in small ways.
@CouchSurferWorldsBest thank you for watching! I love that you're applying my talk to your own life and then determining actions you can take from it :) That was my hope!
love how he keeps it real about the struggles. too many success stories skip over the hard parts and just make us "normal people" feel like we're less-than
@TheRealJay-Jay 👊 Gotta keep it real! I still struggle on a regular basis with a lot of these issues- cash flow, good days/bad days, making the wrong decision about one thing or the other. You just have to keep going and adjust along the way...
the way he talks about hospital visits really puts things in perspective. Here I am stressing about little things, and this guy's out there trying to make sick kids smile.
his story about almost giving up hit hard. Makes me think about all the times I've wanted to throw in the towel on my own projects. It's reassuring to know that even successful people have those moments of doubt.
The story about the grandfather in the hospital and how much his visit meant to them really got to me. It's crazy how a small gesture can have such a huge impact on someone's life.
yeah absolutely, like I doubt Peter Panic realized how "influential" he was being as a kids performer but the way he inspired Jeff and everything that has led to has made a huge impact. It's really cool to think about
It's wild to think about how a random encounter with a street performer could completely alter the trajectory of someone's life. It really makes you appreciate the power of seizing opportunities when they come your way.
the concept of everyday influencers is really making me rethink my daily interactions. never know when you might be someone's "peter panic" moment. kinda puts things in perspective.
It's wild how he went from being the kid picked out of the audience to headlining his own show. just goes to show you never know where life might take you. makes me excited for what could happen in my own future.
his take on being an "everyday influencer" is pretty powerful. never thought of myself as having much influence, but maybe we all do in our own way. kinda makes you wanna step up and be a better person.
Seeing Peter Panic join him on stage for his final Vegas show after all those years brought such a smile to me face! What an incredible full-circle moment that must have been for both of them.
Wish I had Jeff's boldness to just follow a dream. Maybe it's something that's only possible when you're young and don't have anyone relying on you. How quickly that window closes.
I never really thought about how much a random street performer could change someone's life. It's wild to think about all those little moments that might've shaped who I am today.
@realminipowers right?? It's totally wild! I invite you to start noting those little moments when they happen. Write them down if you can! I believe that being more mindful of these little moments of others' influence on you will make you realize how powerful YOU can be as an agent of positive change... someone who can influence others with YOUR OWN MOMENTS of influence too ❤
The reminder to focus on what we CAN do rather than what we can't is so powerful. It's easy to get bogged down by limitations, but we all have the ability to make a difference in our own unique way.
I've always believed that laughter is the best medicine, but I never really thought about it in the context of sick kids in hospitals. It's heartwarming to know that there are people out there dedicated to bringing smiles and joy to those who need it most.
I'm loving how he talked about how we all have the power to make a difference in people's lives, even if it seems small. It's a good reminder to be mindful of how we interact with others.
man, the story about tyler and his grandpa hit me right in the feels. it's amazing how a small act of kindness can have such a huge impact. definitely gonna try to spread more positivity from now on.
@sashapetrovic1678 It’s incredible how a small act of kindness can make such a big difference. Definitely inspired to spread more positivity as well! 🌟
I like the thought of us having more influence than we realize... that simple moments or gestures can really impact a persons whole life.. it's kind of really beautiful to think about
@UncleUnivers I agree! I think people sometimes get "stuck" when they don't immediately have something in their life that they consider to be a passion, instead of continuing to take action and move in the direction of what they are good at + what they enjoy doing. In my life, for example, as a kid I was passionate about juggling, but that passion over the years has evolved into a life I never could have imagined when I was 22 years old doing juggling shows. But I kept pulling on the thread...
I actually volunteered at a children's hospital once, and I remember how the smallest interactions could brighten their whole day. It’s incredible that he’s doing this on a larger scale
@tetrusexpert thank you! I'm so glad you've had experience volunteering in children's hospitals. I know you understand how powerful it is. It's amazing what this can do for your mindset, perspective, gratitude, courage, etc.
The part about his nonprofit work bringing smiles to hospitalized kids warmed my heart. Not everyone uses their success for stuff like that so it's so special when you get to see it
That hospital visit story had me choking up. Made me remember when I was in the hospital as a kid, and how much little things meant to me. Maybe I should look into volunteering or something.
@milesprimrose5990 100%! I will say, in my experience at least, it gets easier. You eventually develop what I refer to as a "bias for action" when taking action actually becomes your default way of operating.
Finding meaning in his charity work while he was struggling in his career and that's the thing that made all the difference. It's just proof that it's all bigger than just us.
Man I love how much he included Peter Panic in all this, from the initial phone call to having him in his show... it's obvious that Jeff was not only impacted by him but is also grateful for him and that's a really awesome thing to acknowledge
sleeping in his dressing room for years? that's some serious hustle. really shows the unglamorous side of show biz and what it takes to make it big. respect for his dedication.
Hearing about his childhood dream of performing in Vegas coming true through hard work and determination is so motivating. It's a great reminder to never give up on my own dreams.
My kid had to spend a week in hospital and it was so hard on all of us. I wish someone like Jeff had of been there to lift his spirits! I'm sure the parents of all those kids who do get visits are eternally grateful.
This was super motivational! I love how Jeff’s story shows that no dream is too big, but also that you have to be willing to put in the work and handle the setbacks along the way.
gotta say, i was impressed by how he handled the tough times in vegas. maxing out credit cards and barely scraping by, but still doing charity shows? that's commitment.
Perfectly balanced story. I like how he used humor to talk about his struggles. Kept it light, but you could still feel the weight of what he went through.
@georgemanu thank you! I appreciate you noticing and appreciating the ebbs and flows of the talk! It was challenging cause I'm such a high-energy goofball 😂 I still had to "be me," but there are definitely some emotionally charged parts of this story.
Ahhhh this is SUCH an incredible TEDx!! SO inspired! We need to lean into being the hero in the stories of our lives... taking full ownership of the influence we have on people we interact with on a daily basis. This is the best type of influence... it's often not the big grandiose gestures that make the difference... but the intimate, everyday ones that can make "real, lasting change." :) Great work, Jeff!
man, I can't imagine how surreal it must've been for him to actually have peter panic on stage with him after all those years! that's the kinda stuff you dream about as a kid but never think will actually happen, ya know?
@earlyeaston - thanks for watching, and sharing! Reconnecting with Peter was one of the highlights of my life for sure. I'm grateful that we are still friends :)
Jeff Civillico, CSP, CPAE, Speaker Hall of Fame, one of the best of all-time. This speech is among the best I've ever seen. How is this amazing man able to keep getting better? I was at the very first show he did when he opened in Vegas for his decade long run, it was legendary, and to hear this story is unreal. He is one of the greatest in the world at what he does, and keeps getting greater. Can't wait to see what's next with Jeff.
@jasonrhewlett aww, my brother! This means the world coming from YOU. You influence and inspire me every day, Jason... probably more than you realize! Thank you for your support ❤
This is why I became a teacher! I was lucky enough to have some really awesome ones growing up and I just always wanted to be that for other people too
Hearing about his lowest lows and highest highs was an emotional rollercoaster. It's amazing how much he overcame to get where he is today, and how he's using his success to give back.
the way he talked about his parents encouraging him to do that first charity show was so sweet. It's a good reminder of how important supportive parents can be.
@happyriley aww thank you for noticing 🥰 Yea, my parents are the best! A lot of family members say - 'You have to do what you love' - but it's much more difficult in practice to support nontraditional journeys and career paths over many years. My parents did that for me, and they still do that for me to be honest. I am very grateful for that 🙏
I think it's really cool that all of this came from a random run-in with a street performer but I daresay, judging from Jeff's energy and bravado, that was always his path. He's just lucky to have been shown it so early on.
I love the subtleties of this talk, like he's not telling you exactly what to do or how to do it but he is leading by example, and that's really wholesome
The story about the little boy in the hospital brought tears to my eyes. It's a beautiful reminder of the profound impact a small act of kindness can have on someone going through a tough time.
@farahjuniper9214 YES! I could not agree more about the power of face-to-tace, in-person influencing! I think it's so cool to think about the fact that Peter had all of this influence before the internet, before social media, before cell phones even. It's a great reminder that we can use these tools to amplify our influence, but it doesn't start there.
the part about doing charity shows to stay grounded was pretty cool. smart way to keep perspective when you're in a self-centered industry and just a good way of staying balanced in general
I have been on stage with Jeff Civillico and I can't name a more entertaining, consummate speaking professional. His heart is so perfectly aligned with using your own brand of influence to make the world a better place. He does this with his customers, with his Win Win Charity and with his friends. Jeff makes all of us better people.
Loving his positivity and ability to turn setbacks into opportunities! Really speaks to how we can see failure as a stepping if we're willing to keep pushing forward
never thought I'd relate so much to a juggler's life story but the way he talks about struggling and doubting himself really hit me. makes ya think about perseverance and how important it is to keep going even when things get tough.
@Blue-Thrill-Bonzo It’s powerful how relatable my story is. Struggles and doubts are universal, but perseverance really makes all the difference. Keep pushing through! 💪✨
I totally related to the moment when he said he was emotionally drained... I’ve been in situations like that where it feels like nothing you do matters. Finding purpose in helping others sounds like a really nice way of recharging though, I’m going to try it.
Listening to his journey, I'm reminded that success is rarely a straight line. There are twists and turns, ups and downs, but if we stay true to ourselves and keep pushing forward, amazing things can happen. It's the mindset I want to carry with me as I navigate my own path.
The story of Tyler and the hat trick - that was really touching. It’s moments like those that show how small gestures can have a huge impact. Sometimes we don’t even realize the influence we have on others... but I guess that's the whole point of the talk
This idea that we're all "everyday influencers" is so real. I often forget how much of an impact my actions can have on others, but this talk really made that clear, thanks for the reminder.
One thing I loved was how he was so open about his failures and struggles. Not a lot of people talk about the hard parts like that, and I think that creates unrealistic expectations for people trying to achieve similar things.
@BasketofDreams I completely agree. More people need to be open and honest about their struggles. If not, people think success is supposed to come quickly and easily so they get thrown off once they face real hardships.
This message hit home for me. Action causes influence, not intention. The homage Jeff pays to his childhood hero is so incredible. I, too, saw my first street performer on vacation with my family in Boston - a magician! Jeff's talk makes me want to find him and thank him. We all have the power to influence others in a meaningful way.
@tompesceoffical no way! Do you remember the name of that magician!? Can you find him online?? I promise that if you do... it will change your life... and his! Thank you for your kind words, Tom. You bring a lot of joy to a lot of people, my friend...
Thank you @thisismindfulness! Having Peter join me for the last show was truly special. Moments like these remind me why I do what I do. Humble and genuine all the way!
Thank you @user-tl9jn9hb8t! Your words mean the world to me! Pursuing your dreams is an incredible adventure, and it's definitely worth it. Keep following your passions, and remember that the journey is as important as the destination. Let's continue to inspire each other! 🙌
It must take a huge amount of emotional strength to perform for those kids. Even just walking into a hospital room not knowing who or what you're going to be faced with. That takes a lot of courage.
I didnt even consider that but you're right it would take a lot of digging deep into your positivity. Luckily I think this guy has an abundance of that
Only Jeff knows how to make you laugh and choke up in the same 20 minutes!! Thank you for your vulnerability and ability to tell a story that hits home. Two key lessons for me: 1) the reminder to not diminish your own influence!! 2) Action creates influence, intentions are great, but without action that is all they are!
I'm blown away by his hustle and determination, even when he was struggling with money and setbacks, to have been so steadfast on his path is really admirable.
This is one of the best I've ever seen! It's brimming with value, funny, insightful and gives hope to anyone who ever thought they could never be an influencer. Jeff is a world class speaker and my only question is, "When will you drop another Tedx talk Jeff? I don't want to miss it!!
@candicetriley Thank YOU! Absolutely, it's incredible how meaningful moments can happen in places you might not expect. Sometimes, the smallest acts of kindness can make the biggest difference. 🌟
The fact that Peter Panic didn’t see himself as an influencer was really cool to me! Just a dude going about his life doing things for the joy of it and having that much of an impact, it's really wonderful.

Jeff’s story about his charity shows is such a great reminder of the power of perspective. Helping others can really change your outlook on life!
So wholesome that this is about real life influence and not just online instagram/tiktok stuff
I know Jeff, he is the real deal. He gives back so much to his community and anywhere really that will help others in need of a smile. Just the time in puts into making the charity stuff happen is commendable, I don't know how he does it all even with the help of his charity board and volunteers.
Tears in my eyes when "My grandson wasn't eating when you came to see him"
The part about his grandma being his first audience was so relatable. Reminds me of when I used to put on little shows for my family as a kid. It's cool to see how those small moments of encouragement can lead to something big
absolutely and just generally so sweet. My grandma was my first cheerleader too
That story about the boy in the hospital and his grandpa had me emotional. So heartwarming that exchanges like this are still able to happen
It's a really beautiful part of his journey
His story of doing charity shows reminded me of a time I joined a local group to perform at senior centers. It wasn’t fancy, but the reactions we got made it all worth it. It really makes you see the value in using your skills for good.
@ermacohen YES! I love hearing this! It's all about the reactions ❤
I'm blown away by his persistence. Sleeping in his dressing room? Maxing out credit cards? That's some serious dedication to the dream.
@thereallyreallybigpicture thank you! That's what it takes sometimes to power through 💪 Just want to keep it real!
@@jeff_civillico we appreciate the authenticity!
His high school charity show sounded pretty great and easy to see the impact it's made on him now in terms of acts of service. What a great guy.
It's really cool that he calls out how people don't want to be the hero of their own story. I've seen that a lot
The Peter Panic story is wild. It's like a real-life "pay it forward" situation. Makes me wonder about all the people who've had an impact on my life without even knowing it.
This dude should be a salesman. Handing out those flyers with that hustle and persistence, he'd freakin crush it!
I'm pretty sure he's already crushing sales in many different ways, no flyers required!

@robyncrosby666 aww thank you!
The story about the little boy in the hospital brought tears to my eyes. It's a beautiful reminder of the profound impact a small act of kindness can have on someone going through a tough time.
I think part of why Peter Panic is so endearing is that he was so humble about it too
I love that this wasn't about like social media influencing. Means so much more when you're making an impact with someone face to face
I love how he seems just as excited and impressed by his tricks as someone in the audience would
hahaha fully! so much enthusiasm
😂😂😂😂
the part about doing charity shows to stay grounded was pretty cool. smart way to keep perspective when you're in a self-centered industry and just a good way of staying balanced in general
Asbolutely a great way to stay humble and give back
I have been on stage with Jeff Civillico and I can't name a more entertaining, consummate speaking professional. His heart is so perfectly aligned with using your own brand of influence to make the world a better place. He does this with his customers, with his Win Win Charity and with his friends. Jeff makes all of us better people.
That juggling trick with the hat was so cool... I remember trying to juggle as a kid, but I never got the hang of it
Loving his positivity and ability to turn setbacks into opportunities!
@@jeff_civillico that's a very good point! thanks for the reply and the advice!
It's ironic because your dp makes you look like a clown
I totally related to the moment when he said he was emotionally drained... I’ve been in situations like that where it feels like nothing you do matters. Finding purpose in helping others sounds like a really nice way of recharging though, I’m going to try it.
@bethdanster YES! I love the saying, "When you feel helpless, get helpful."
Oh man the way I teared up about the kid in hospital coming to his show. Such a beautiful story, tbank you
This dude's energy is off the charts! Loved how he turned his childhood dream into reality.
yeah and still stayed humble enough to want to give back to the community, really cool stuff
he definitely has a lot of energy lol
your display picture is off the charts lol
@boogerrhymes thank you 😊
@@milesprimrose5990 yeah wth is going on in it lol
kinda wild how one performer can have such a huge impact on someone's life without even realizing it.
As a parent, this talk is a good reminder of how even small encouragements can shape our kids' futures in unexpected ways
@arnoldcintron1621 absolutely! I am so grateful for how my parents encouraged me growing up, in big ways and small ways...
Listening to his journey, I'm reminded that success is rarely a straight line. There are twists and turns, ups and downs, but if we stay true to ourselves and keep pushing forward, amazing things can happen. It's the mindset I want to carry with me as I navigate my own path.
This is such a great mindset and I tend to agree. Knowing what we want and working towards it slowly and steadily really is a winning formula.
The story of Tyler and the hat trick - that was really touching. It’s moments like those that show how small gestures can have a huge impact. Sometimes we don’t even realize the influence we have on others... but I guess that's the whole point of the talk
Seems like his whole life is a testament to determination.
@stealtheddefender 💪💪
This idea that we're all "everyday influencers" is so real. I often forget how much of an impact my actions can have on others, but this talk really made that clear, thanks for the reminder.
It was super interesting to think about in that way. I've never really thought I might be impacting on another person
Yeah it's making me think about how even just the people we interact with daily can be influenced by us
One thing I loved was how he was so open about his failures and struggles.
@@jeff_civillico Absolutely! I think there's are some very unrealistic expectations around success
So sweet of him to have Peter join him for his last show, you can till this guy is so humble and genuine.
Thank you @thisismindfulness! Having Peter join me for the last show was truly special. Moments like these remind me why I do what I do. Humble and genuine all the way!
The only thing bigger than your talent and your smile is the size of your heart! Keep sharing all of that with the world.
what a sweet comment!
I wish I had his energy! but his story shows it's not just natural talent - it's years of hard work and passion too. Respect!
@themessimadetoday :)
Jeff’s passion for his craft is an inspiration and example of why following your dreams is what life is all about.
Thank you @user-tl9jn9hb8t! Your words mean the world to me! Pursuing your dreams is an incredible adventure, and it's definitely worth it. Keep following your passions, and remember that the journey is as important as the destination. Let's continue to inspire each other! 🙌
His story about reconnecting with Peter Panic was so touching! Really speaks to how grateful and sentimental he is.
@HeavenlyProphet thank you :) I'm a total softie haha
We don't always get to hear about the struggles of people who chase their dreams. Amazing journey!
I really liked his vulnerability in sharing his struggles and doubts along the way. It makes his success feel that much more earned and meaningful.
for sure and super relatable
It must take a huge amount of emotional strength to perform for those kids. Even just walking into a hospital room not knowing who or what you're going to be faced with. That takes a lot of courage.
I didnt even consider that but you're right it would take a lot of digging deep into your positivity. Luckily I think this guy has an abundance of that
wow that hadn't even crossed my mind but yeah so many variables in that kind of situation
So cool that he found a way to use his skills for good! And that he stayed dedicated to it even after ending his residency ended
yeah the fact that he chose to keep that up even after not performing regularily anymore says heaps about him
IMO anyway
Only Jeff knows how to make you laugh and choke up in the same 20 minutes!! Thank you for your vulnerability and ability to tell a story that hits home. Two key lessons for me: 1) the reminder to not diminish your own influence!! 2) Action creates influence, intentions are great, but without action that is all they are!
@rosserl1 ahhhh thank you so much! Appreciate you!!
That means a lot coming from you, @TimGard-yc3rj. I'm so glad you found it valuable and entertaining. I appreciate the support, as always! 🥺❤🔥
This has me feeling really introspective! Like I might need to rethink some of my daily interactions and if I’m putting enough positivity out there.
@monteTthompson I love that you took this from my talk! That makes me feel really good! Thank you for sharing :)
Loved the bit about the nursing home gigs. It's a good reminder that you can find meaning and make a difference in the most unexpected places!
@candicetriley Thank YOU! Absolutely, it's incredible how meaningful moments can happen in places you might not expect. Sometimes, the smallest acts of kindness can make the biggest difference. 🌟
@@jeff_civillico Yes!! If anything that's what makes it even more meaningful, the unexpectedness and also the little things!
