- This is the new Volvo S60. It's the saloon/ sedan version of the V90 and is a Swedish alternative to the BMW 3 Series, Mercedes C-Class and the Audi A4. The car shares many parts with the rest of the Volvo range such as the XC60. In this video you can find out about its design, the negine range - which won't include ANY diesels - and the technology. Volvo sales in the US are up by over 40%, and that's BEFORE the S60 hits the market. The size, price, features, and "Made in USA" aspect will make the S60 a strong seller the US (well, as good as any sedan can do in "Crossoverland").
Well they are just starting to now that the line up is complete. They are selling like hotcakes, taking a big chunk from the German makers. Had 6 new Bimmers in 9 years, and I can say, quality is up there with the Germans...and it drives well too.

Im Swedish and I Will probably see them alot. Already the s90 and v90 and v60 are so common that they look boring. And I have never thought of Volvo as a luxury car brand, and i think most swedes would agree. Everyone has one, even my neighbour who's a 70 years old farmer and smells of cows have a new s90. And I cant think of luxury when it smells of cows. 😂
For swedes Volvo have always been considered a boring, gas-guzzling, squared car for socialists. We used to call them "sosse-container". Socialist-container. And nowadays they are not safer than another car on the road and they are definitely not the most practical cars.

I've got a 2018 s90 r design, i like my space so it does well for me. If you're looking for something compact and more suitable for city driving. S60 might be a better option.
Depends on what you want. The S90 is more luxurious than the S60. Especially the doors and some more hard plastic details makes the 60-Series feel not so special. The Soundsystems is also not so powerful but enought :) The space behind the front seats is much better in the 90-Series. What i miss in the 60-Series is a development of the safety-systems.

Volvo seems cheap, theres so many on the road and all looks the same, you cant compare decent cars to premium german cars.
The description says S60 is saloon version of V90. Shouldn't it say V60?

I wish it had an already elevated headrest for the back middle seat. I always think they come in handy for less impact whiplash injuries. Other than that I really want it.

Currently have a XC90 and a a4 2018 avant. When the avant goes I’m getting one of these as an estate..... best looking mid “luxury” on the market. Can get fairly expensive though at my age I’ll be going for a small engine and the £2500 B&W stereo. Have B&W in the house and they are brilliant

FWD is much safer than RWD. But when it comes to engines, they will stick to their own.
I find it really funny how everyone here in the comments loves volvo cars and totally hates german cars, but when you look at the roads on the amount of german cars and volvos, the opposite is the true. Strange

These are insecure fanboys. FANBOYS.
1.) There's quite many new Volvos on the streets.
2.) German car dealers offer huge discounts to companys. A huge percentage of german cars on the streets are company cars or former company cars.
Of course the germans still sell better, but Volvo sales increased a lot. Alternatives are always nice.
Company fleets often only offer german cars, there is no choice to take any other manufacturer. Also they offer fleet Leasing cars extremely cheap, price dumping.Also the type of People who don't use the internet often are "forced" to buy certain brands because of their cultural background according to which they are nobody without a BMW, Merceedes, etc...

Just beautiful. Had a 1994 850 estate 2.5, followed by a 2001 S60 2.4 T. Currently with a 2009 c class estate but Ill definately wanna go back to Volvo in few years time:D

When I saw the white from the video thumbnail it looked to me like one of those concept or In Time (movie) like and when I saw the rear, it does kind of look futuristic.

Weird that it's not out until Autumn, I've already seen two of these on the road, one today, one yesterday and I'm in Salisbury which is hardly a hotbed of new car activity or promotion.
I came from the Mercedes C-Class (S205) to the Volvo S90, in many details near this S60. The design is an alternative to the known Germans. But Volvo is much to heavy, the engine not very economic and the usability...for nerds :) Very comfortable, the S60 will shure follow the Volvo concept and very safe, but in safety, the germans develope faster in details. I love my Volvo but it doesn`t make the Germans boring.

PetrolHead BS I've been in the XC60 and V90/S90 and believe me, the interior looks even better in real life. If you sit in the car, the 'floating' design effect of the dashboard is just beautiful. For me, the best interiors. I've been in the XE too, that interior is the pinnacle of dullness. It's not built too well either. The Alfa is a beautiful car though, a true enrichment for the segment

It comes with a panoramic roof even with a saloon. Looking to change my 2015 3 series, might go for this or the new 3 series coming out later this year.

I'm saddened by the fact that I have to accept that my 02 s60 is on her last legs. My dad bought her new in Korea back in 2002 and I've been driving her since 2010 after we shipped her back to the states when we moved. She hasn't been right since being rear ended in 07 (honestly think it was the repair shops fault as volvo wasnt that big in korea at the time), but man has she been a blast to drive. I would absolutely blow people's mind away during heavy snowfall as you would see nothing but jeeps and 4x4s and then a little white s60 tugging along. Unfortunately cost of maintenance doesn't justify keeping the car around. If you are ever given an opportunity to drive a Volvo, any year not just the newer models, I highly recommend you at least give it a shot. The Swedes definitely put a lot of love into this brand.
