There is no 1 size fits all, definitive ffb settings, it's a personal thing. It depends on driving style and personal preference. If it works for you then don't worry about it being 'wrong' I use a TGT2 with GTomega Art and generally use 4/4 for slower cars (gr3&4) and 3/3 for faster (gr1&2) I find it much easier to catch massive oversteer moments with lower strength ffb
Just a quick question, what did you mean about not getting any feedback on the kerbs. I use the TGt2 with the transducer motor (think that's what it's called) and when I ride the kerbs my wheel shakes on the side that the kerb is and I can feel which wheel is on the kerb whether it's the front or back or both. I only just got the TGT2 I wanted the Fanatec but living in NZ made it almost impossible so went with the TGT2 and glad I did. The motor also sends vibrations down my rig Playseat Trophy ( very solid rig) and to the pedals. It's only subtle and you won't feel it with shoes on but for me that was a real game changer. I whole heartedly reccomend the TGT2 it also has a much nicer wheel than the official Fanatec one which looks a bit too plastic to me.
Great vid mate. The G29 is a pretty good wheel with the settings pretty high. I've now got a T300. Feedback sensitivity is still at 10 & the difference from the G29 is immense. I can feel almost everything. Torque is at 6 tho now. It's much harder to turn with the belts. I think PD still have some way to go to match the feedback feeling from other games like ACC, which is much better imo. Keep up the great work fella.
Thanks Martin. Yeah I’m quite interested in trying new hardware. But I completely agree. GT7 is a long way off where it could be with FFB. In fact. The old Live For Speed game on a G25 feels better than GT7 in 2023 😳🤷🏻♂️🤣
@@danielstokker I didn't say that PD is aiming to compete with ACC, so stop reading into things that aren't there, Mr Passive Aggressive. I said they had a long way to go to match the FFB that ACC has
I had the g29 and now the T300 and same games as you. Totally agree with you 100% Im sure it would be different with DD wheel base but for what this video is about then yeah 6 and 10 all day every day
Sorry for the late reply. It’s really hard to know reality because even in real life the amount of power steering assistance can be tuned for road cars and race cars. So I find it best just to go by what feels comfortable to drive. 👍🏻👍🏻
For me the max torque setting is determined by the wheel you have. When using a T300 i was limited to around 4 or 5 due to it would overheat. My dd pro i actually dont want to go above 5 as its too strong for me and can end up with repetative strain injuries to the wrist. The dd pro has a whole load of other settings that i haven't a clue what use they are to me to adjust. Ive sort of found max sensitivity at 10 and torque at 5, but drop it to 4 if my wrist is injured. For me the controller setting is literally for the hand held controller. I never thougt it was intended for anything else.
It's now confirmed that the controller sensitivity actually changes the wheel feeling as well and is best to keep at center setting as that is 1:1 movement
@@Doughtinatorhi mate, what is the maximum degrees of rotation do you have your steering wheel set to in Logitech for use with gt7, mine is set to 900 but I think it might be too much..

Yeah exactly right. There’s are for wheel only. However I do plan on making a controller specific video which will cover the controller specific settings and my recommendations for those 👍🏻
@@Doughtinator when playing with controller I do wish PD had included acceleration and breaking sensitively settings for the analog triggers, a responce curve setting would be great. Pretty sure they had the option on GT5 etc.
Since they changed the physics I use 5 and 8 on the g29...over 5 is it's just too heavy and furthermore it loses details and smoothness with race cars. The problem is that when you use for example a golf gti or cars from that category you need to set a higher value because you almost have no feedback..they need to put some more work on how it scales to the different cars or add a per car ffb setting like in automobilista o ac on pc...the dream woulb be having separate options for road suspensions curbs
Can someone please help. I have g29 but in gt7 I can’t turn properly. No matter how much I turn wheel, I slide off track. Only thing I can think of is that I did the calibration wrong? You know where you turn wheel 90 degrees, and fully press the throttle, clutch and brake? I’m so desperate for it to work. I have the sensitivity set as advertised in these types of videos.I’ve tried all various settings. Nothing works. Small turns work fine, accelerate, brake, paddle shift gears work perfectly but whenever I try a big turn, I slow right down and turn the wheel around 3/4 and this should make turn but it won’t and it’s like game don’t know I’m trying to turn. I can even fully turn the wheel and I just can’t turn. Don’t get me wrong, I think the game is a bag of shit but I paid £52 and would like to at least get my money worth. It’s just so frustrating. I just tried to play first time in weeks and just had to give up. I tried moving steering sensitivity at all settings nothing works. I just don’t understand why it works for everyone else. I have exact same settings and I can’t race. In other games it’s steering sensitivity and linery that sorts out the steering but not in this game.

I was tempted to pick up ea Wrc for £22 but apparently, the game is fucked and full of frame drops and constant stutter. Wrc9.10 and generations are all 60 fps , so god knows what’s going on with the new Ea Wrc game.
Yeah for sure. On my GT Omega Classic wheel stand you can remove the two lever screws and it collapses down nicely. Just make sure to route cables so they can’t get trapped 👍🏻
I have a DD1 and the settings are high for GT7 and I have to say the game is crap for strength. Assetto Corsa, f1 and WRC10 the feedback is as powerfull as you like but on GT7 seems very limited. I have stopped playing the game beause it is pointless. If i hit a curb hard it should be trying to break my hand and not feel like I am going over a small bump. I would love a reply if anyone feels the same as me
Yeah I can imagine for a DD wheel these settings might be a bit high. I also agree that GT7 does seem a little limited on detail when it come to force feedback.
Worth it's weight in gold Chris, thanks 😊. Whilst I was using the G29 I was 4 and 7 as they move down the options and to match that on the T300 RS which I now use is 6 and 9, brand new servo, not what I had anticipated. I haven't done it back to back but I used the G29 for over one year, I feel fairly certain that I have them matched, weird. Like deployed 👍 😎🎙🏎✅️
I use a T150, but the force feedback seems very vague IN GT7. I've tested the wheel out with PC3, and it feels GREAT!! I can literally feel the tire grip and make accurate inputs as I navigated a course. I love GT7, but I need to know if there is something I'm missing in relation to settings.
I'm start playing on end November from the first day straight out 10 for both Ffb I'm feel comfortable with amount of that feedback also im playing on controller
There is a video demonstrating the differences by simaction clips who does a lot of drifting on GT7 He shows the difference between the difference steering sensitivity I can say that personally I can hold drifting much better and in a more realistiv way with the value at 5 th-cam.com/video/oEe5ZchqbMg/w-d-xo.htmlsi=jN_RbJER9-Iq1bDn
@Doughtinator both were set at 3 as default. I set torque at 7 and sensitivity at 5. I may be able to go higher, it now feels like I'm driving a race car....not a lounge chair.
I’d recommend 10 for force feedback sensitivity and tune the max torque depending how ‘heavy’ you want the wheel. This can be car specific. Roads cars need higher. Race cars need lower 👍🏻
Like you say, theres not one particular setting that is fastest, its down to personal use. Ive a mate that prefers torque at 2 and hes fast. I find it set that low its wishy washy
The controller sensitivity setting is for controller players, it determines how fast your wheels steer from lock to lock on the controller stick. I think anyway
That’s what I’ve been trying to avoid. Changing something. Knowing what’s changed and then inventing traits which validate what I expect to happen. The only true way to do it is to having someone make the changes (or not) and then test without knowing what changes have been made. sadly I don’t have a race engineer to help me do this 🤣🤣
Yeah that is something I've thought of , have someone change the settings and see if I notice anything without knowing what was changed. But ya I'm only one person 😅
1. Controller sensitivity doesn’t affect wheel. 2. People with Logitech wheels always feel like their wheels are weak and want them to be more powerful but they can’t be. All jacking the max torque does on a Logitech wheel is delete any and all detail. Run over a pebble? Max torque. FULLY sending it in a corner? same forces. 3. On my thrustmaster, when I want “tighter” steering, I reduce the steering angle on my wheel. Pressing left on the d pad on the wheel and the option button on the wheelbase at the same time will reduce steering angle, this needs to be done every time.
Nice vid Chris, i personally use 6 torque, 10 sensitivity. For me too high on torque, i feel im wrestling with the car too much, but i always want most sensitivity as possible. Glad you used the ferrari, i used same car as wanted to try car i dont use much and we have simular times, slightly differing styles, but its good to see there are different ways to drive it to get simular results, however i feel it does struggle over the curbs which i think holds its pace back a little as it feels a bit nervous. Im outta action atm in hospital but will definitely have a fiddle with settings just to see if i became set in my ways. Mssing my hobby and missing making tt vids but hope to get to it soon. Keep up the great work and chuffed for you getting affiliated with gt omega See ya on the leaderboards soon, peace
Cheers Steve. Get well soon man. Yeah I agree with you. Finding the right balance is very important. Feeling the feedback is important but too much and the car starts driving you 👍🏻
Controller Sensitivity(CS) may be more evident on fast consecutive left/right corners IMO. I too struggled to see if CS made any difference for wheel (I'm using Fanatec DD Pro), and I DO feel like there's subtle difference between min (-2) and max (10). With CS 10, I feel like I can make turns quicker left/right, "snappier", but it does lock up tires more.. more squeal. Where as CS -2 there's less tire grip loss but not as snappy on steering. Again, this is very hard to tell, it may just be in my head and that this setting has no bearing on wheels. For what it's worth, some fast YT drivers use 0 as their setting. Great video BTW, thanks!
Thanks for sharing. I agree. I’m really trying to feel a difference and now wonder if I’m feeling a difference because I think I should be feeling a difference. What we really need is a blind test 3 times not knowing what the setting is on to really see if there is a difference.
The controller sensitivity will make your wheel turn in more to a corner, thus you can have precise turn in rather than over steer but you need to adjust this before you add steering sensitivity or you will not notice it( turn down steering sensitivity to 1, head for a corner at high speed and see when your back end will fill out....if it does flip out and your controller sensitivity is at 0, turn it up one increment then try again....eventually you will find your precise turn in at speed that you can maintain.....once you find that precision, then turn up you sensitivity on your wheel bit by bit to find what suits you best
Controller sensitivity effects linearity. I’ve tested this extensively on my thrustmaster tgt. It actually took a bit of time to get used to because I can feel the rear better. It 100% helped with faster lap times. So yes, controller sensitivity translates to the wheel 100%
@@Doughtinator I drive mostly GT3 cars. My FFB torque is 4, FFB sensitivity is 3. Controller sensitivity at 4 or 5 depending on the car. But I’m settling on 4 lately.
Great work. When is missing is force feedback on pedals. The "trigger effect" on the controller really helps. I hope they can implement on pedals and manufacturers can update or upgrade the pedals. I think pedals.are a weakness in general on setups, the brake and clutch are not mounted correctly but I have seen one pedal set that has them mounted from above on a rig.
There are some pedals that just released with FFB in the pedals these are extremely high end pedals and only work on PC rigs. Alternatively you could try strapping some transducers to the pedals but then again those work better on PC as consoles can’t differentiate between audio inputs so they just broadcast all sound to the transducers. Sim racing is just better on PC
Hopefully you get your hands on a direct drive wheel soon and then you can truly set up and find the ultimate settings. Not taking anything away from the G29 as most of us started there. I and many others have set top 10 times on the G29 but it does feel like a toy in comparison to most of the direct drives available.

In fact. The old Live For Speed game on a G25 feels better than GT7 in 2023 😳🤷🏻♂️🤣
PD isnt aiming to compete with acc i would let this idea go
@@danielstokker I didn't say that PD is aiming to compete with ACC, so stop reading into things that aren't there, Mr Passive Aggressive. I said they had a long way to go to match the FFB that ACC has
I had the g29 and now the T300 and same games as you. Totally agree with you 100%
Im sure it would be different with DD wheel base but for what this video is about then yeah 6 and 10 all day every day
Sensitivity 5
Torque 6
Feedback 10
G29 wheel also
Yeah I think they are really close to how I like mine right now 👍🏻
This sounds subjective to user preference. I’m more interested in which force feedback is more realistic to how an actual race car will feel?
Sorry for the late reply. It’s really hard to know reality because even in real life the amount of power steering assistance can be tuned for road cars and race cars.
So I find it best just to go by what feels comfortable to drive. 👍🏻👍🏻
I got the thrustmaster t150 and everything its set to 1..... it feels to strong sometimes,...weird...
for me it feels that most cars only use a max steering angle of 90°. and not like 180° or even 900° for road cars
For driving around a track. Yes I do rarely use more than 90 degrees. But driving slowly the rotation does seem to match.
How about G923 ? There is a vibration setting that affects the steering vibration(True Force?)
I’m afraid I’ve not used this wheel. Sorry man.
Anyone figured out best settings on a Logitech pro wheel? Best True force options and what does Dampener do?
Sorry man. I can’t help with that wheel.
I have a direct drive fanatec so I leave the game settings as they are and make all adjustments on the wheel itself
Yeah I think that would be quite handy 👍🏻
For me the max torque setting is determined by the wheel you have. When using a T300 i was limited to around 4 or 5 due to it would overheat. My dd pro i actually dont want to go above 5 as its too strong for me and can end up with repetative strain injuries to the wrist. The dd pro has a whole load of other settings that i haven't a clue what use they are to me to adjust. Ive sort of found max sensitivity at 10 and torque at 5, but drop it to 4 if my wrist is injured. For me the controller setting is literally for the hand held controller. I never thougt it was intended for anything else.
Yeah I’ve found pretty much the same as you 👍🏻
It's now confirmed that the controller sensitivity actually changes the wheel feeling as well and is best to keep at center setting as that is 1:1 movement
Do you have a link to the article that confirms?
@@Doughtinatorhi mate, what is the maximum degrees of rotation do you have your steering wheel set to in Logitech for use with gt7, mine is set to 900 but I think it might be too much..
@Doughtinator here is the link to video on controller sen for wheels too th-cam.com/video/oEe5ZchqbMg/w-d-xo.htmlsi=WoAQ5xt3NCIrVqgn
I use controller sen 5 and the Two torque settings 5 and 10. Feels great with gt dd pro!
Thanks for the info. Non Wheel player here so do you think this gonna work on controller?
Sadly no; the settings (apart from Controller Sensitivity) are for wheel bases only.
Yes, the controller sensitivity it's not for wheels, it only affects PS pad/controllers
That’s what I thought and found in my testing 👍🏻
Since they changed the physics I use 5 and 8 on the g29...over 5 is it's just too heavy and furthermore it loses details and smoothness with race cars. The problem is that when you use for example a golf gti or cars from that category you need to set a higher value because you almost have no feedback..they need to put some more work on how it scales to the different cars or add a per car ffb setting like in automobilista o ac on pc...the dream woulb be having separate options for road suspensions curbs
Yeah I agree. The weight of the wheel is quite different between different car types. That’s why I tried road car and race car in my testing.
Yes, even more so if you use the go carts.

I’m not sure what’s going on man. Should be no. Need to calibrate a G29.
What cars are you having problems with?
@@Doughtinator every car. It’s driving me crazy. Car just won’t turn properly. Games totally not playable. Thankfully I got dirt rally 2 working ok. Car actually turns. Right 3? No problems. Right 1 no problem. In gt7 I turn wheel 360 and can’t turn. I just give up now. So upset over this bloody crap. It’s always me having problems. Every time I see every comment about gt7 I’m just pissed off. Like why won’t it just work? Anyway thanks.
@@grahamkelly8662 same issue for me what ended up helping was setting controller steering sensitivity to -2
@@davidtruelove5022 I’ll try it but I just don’t understand why it won’t work, like it does for everyone else. I’m just going to sell my copy. I think it’s shit anyway. Only thing worth while is online racing and if I can’t turn, no point trying that . Also, I’m not prepared to grind for millions of hours, to get enough in game currency, to be able to buy even 1 super car and there is absolutely no way on earth, I’m spending a single penny of my money, in ps store to buy gt7 credits , just so I can buy a nice car or 2. I give it 5-10 years and all games will be free like Fortnite and be full of micro transactions. I’m just happy that I have dirt rally and Wrc. They are an incredible racing experience . Especially dirty rally/2.0 and Wrc 9,10, I’ve not played generations or the new Ea Wrc . I own generations but having too much fun on wrc10. I was tempted to pick up ea Wrc for £22 but apparently, the game is fucked and full of frame drops and constant stutter. Wrc9.10 and generations are all 60 fps , so god knows what’s going on with the new Ea Wrc game.
Would a Logitech wheel work on a collapsible racing stand
Yeah for sure. On my GT Omega Classic wheel stand you can remove the two lever screws and it collapses down nicely. Just make sure to route cables so they can’t get trapped 👍🏻
T gt2 ? Settings? I have thrustmaster t gt2 and i don t this wheel in menu
I’m not sure on this one. I don’t have that wheel.
Your wheel settings for will be quite different for drifting. I would check out drifiting with little to no resistance/sensitivity.
I’ve had a play and I’ve actually found that higher values also work well drifting for me.
Higher settings make you feel the tension of the grip of the tires as it's happening vs your predicting what's happening with a light wheel
Like deployed 👍
😎🎙🏎✅️
Thanks Julian 👍🏻👍🏻
I use a T150, but the force feedback seems very vague IN GT7. I've tested the wheel out with PC3, and it feels GREAT!! I can literally feel the tire grip and make accurate inputs as I navigated a course.
I love GT7, but I need to know if there is something I'm missing in relation to settings.
You could try increasing the settings. But GT7 does feel a little weak on feedback overall.
Show hotlaps with different FFB settings
Something I might try in the future 👍🏻
Good video. That whole controller setting making wheel feel different is bs
Yeah man. That’s what I feel. But people swear by it 🤷🏻♂️
I'm start playing on end November from the first day straight out 10 for both Ffb I'm feel comfortable with amount of that feedback also im playing on controller
I don’t think these settings affect controller.
What about steering sensitivity? Thx!
On G29 I don’t feel it makes any difference. But others have said it does. I briefly give my thoughts at the end of the video 👍🏻
There is a video demonstrating the differences by simaction clips who does a lot of drifting on GT7
He shows the difference between the difference steering sensitivity
I can say that personally I can hold drifting much better and in a more realistiv way with the value at 5
th-cam.com/video/oEe5ZchqbMg/w-d-xo.htmlsi=jN_RbJER9-Iq1bDn
I'm using a next level racing stand and g923 wheel. Will take a look at these setting.
Yes I can feel what the car is doing a bit better. Big differance....now I need to learn how to drive again 😮
Awesome. What settings were you on and what did you try?
@Doughtinator both were set at 3 as default. I set torque at 7 and sensitivity at 5. I may be able to go higher, it now feels like I'm driving a race car....not a lounge chair.
Thx. I also have a 923 and was wondering about new recommendations and if the two wheels would use similar settings.
I agree completely. And in fact perhaps CAR/Group specific too!
The controller sensitivity setting is for controller players, it determines how fast your wheels steer from lock to lock on the controller stick. I think anyway
That’s what I always thought. 👍🏻
What about for controller? Any suggestions
I plan to make a video dedicated to controller settings 👍🏻
@@Doughtinator Nice one. I'm pretty lost with it all. Just can't get any quicker.
6/ 10 is where I'm at , controller sensitivity 2 , I can feel a difference in lineraty to the steering maybe it's just in my head 😅
100% 👍🏻👍🏻
In your head. Controlled sens has zero effect on wheels.
I tried 10-10 today for the first time I got a warning ⚠️ about potential injuries and I'm using g29 but I seem to drive better with it maxed out
Yeah it’s whatever works well for you 👍🏻
Nice vid Chris, i personally use 6 torque, 10 sensitivity.
Keep up the great work and chuffed for you getting affiliated with gt omega
See ya on the leaderboards soon, peace
Cheers Steve. Get well soon man.
Yeah I agree with you. Finding the right balance is very important. Feeling the feedback is important but too much and the car starts driving you 👍🏻
5 sensitivity bro
Im 100% convinced Controller settings are actually for controller and not wheels
Yeah It make no bloody difference.
I’ve not been able to notice this. I’ve tested but can never feel a difference 🤷🏻♂️
What wheel are you using?
I’m using Logitech G29
@@Doughtinator I have a thrustmaster tgt and there is definitely a difference. It’s literally more precise, and sensitive.
Interesting. I still can feel it and I’ve tried to check. Maybe it’s thrustmaster specific 🤷🏻♂️👍🏻
am i the onlyone that feels the damper feeling when turning?
I’m going to hope that I can afford to buy a direct drive wheel in 5 years once I am making a pittance of money again as a resident.
Yeah man. Fingers crossed 👍🏻
Controller sensitivity effects linearity. I’ve tested this extensively on my thrustmaster tgt. It actually took a bit of time to get used to because I can feel the rear better. It 100% helped with faster lap times.
So yes, controller sensitivity translates to the wheel 100%
I still can’t feel it. But maybe it’s because I’m on Logitech and others that say it matters are on thrustmaster?
@@Doughtinator I drive mostly GT3 cars. My FFB torque is 4, FFB sensitivity is 3. Controller sensitivity at 4 or 5 depending on the car. But I’m settling on 4 lately.
@@Doughtinator Maybe since your FFB sensitivity is at 10 it’s counteracting the controller sensitivity feel.
No it doesn’t. Controller Sen has ZERO effect on wheels.
Wheel linearity is effected by Torque sensitivity not controller.
Interesting how high you go with a low nm , non DD wheel
But it's nice that PD give so much room to adjust
Nice point about caster
Yeah the higher setting may have some clipping but it’s provost only clipping irrelevant details. The main detail I want to feel is alignment 👍🏻
I agree. Sim racing pedals are lacking behind wheels. And even more so when it comes to console functionality.
I'm a beginner but I switch my brake to L trigger. I'm not manual shifting yet
Man, g29 is rubish… you are such a good driver, try a better wheel, you deserve it!
A DD wheel and Ps vr2, it’s the Best feeling you Will get!
Thanks man. Yeah I am looking for a better wheel. I bet DD and VR2 is incredible 👍🏻👍🏻
Hopefully you get your hands on a direct drive wheel soon and then you can truly set up and find the ultimate settings. Not taking anything away from the G29 as most of us started there. I and many others have set top 10 times on the G29 but it does feel like a toy in comparison to most of the direct drives available.
Yeah I can imagine there is a big step up. Maybe someone can send me one to test? 🤣🤣
