New here. Even on Xbox all these years I been on gamepad and I do very well. Now have a new PlayStation and want to learn and I tell you I need lots of practice.
Picked up a logitech g923 recently and my biggest hurtle was getting used to the pedals. I was so used to just slamming on the brakes with the controller since it's so hard to properly modulate and I developed some bad habits. Now that I've gotten more used to the setup I can consistently put down faster lap times than I ever could before. Another thing, the wheel just adds a whole new element of immersion and makes the game so much more fun. I know the g923 is a budget wheel and more experienced sim racers would probably look down on it. But this is my first proper wheel set up and I've found it amazing.
I have the g29 and love it. Went to a sim racing cafe near me and used some top end gear. Holy cow. World of difference in feel and speed. Budget wheels are great to get into the hobby
There's a bunch of gourmet drivers looking down on G923, but can assure you it's the top 5% best gear to perform 100% of what you need to do in the sim games. Just don't mind the gourmetized criticism.
My wife just bought me the g29 for my birthday and I absolutely love it. I'm having a hard time getting used to using both feet for the pedals but it's so much fun
Right away I'd say that the Dualsense gyro steering is amazing. I put 300 hours into GT7 and hated thumbtack steering but the gyro steering honestly felt like having a wheel in hand. What Im asking is if the playstation G wheel is the best version since you can get compatability for both consoles when they eventually release the Xbox wheel or order another stock wheel?
The pedal calibration screen is different to the calibration screen for a G29. With the G29, you can set both the minimum inputs for the pedals AND the maximum inputs. This means you can set the minimum pressure where it starts registering input and you can also set the pressure required for maximum input. This is really good. for slow, most road cars, controller is good enough, but for gr1 and similar, for formulas, controller is a HELL OF A NO ! :D Ive just tried Nations Rd1 qualifier in Spa.. Controller just cant turn fast enough, and if u make it more sensitive, it was to sensitive when u try to do minimal inputs :D
because you aren't using your index finger for throttle. square and x for shifting. on controller with proper settings its impossible(olmost) to spin out. on controller you can go from lock to lock in .25 seconds. on wheel it can take 1.5 seconds+.controller nets better times period. no debate necessary.try a test on wheel that your barely losing and switch to controller..gold by 1+ second ...
@kireth. Poor form. You’re quick to say that you unlike your peers do not make lots of money from fanatec affiliate links. Where’s your disclaimer for the money you make from your links to Logitech products? Also, seems like Logitech cured some form of motor neurone disease which is unfortunately triggered by the controller. Go Logitech!
i am 1 sec faster in controller... i have g29 and i cant correct nothing... with controller i can drift all the track if i wanted... you hold your controller wrong :P you dont need claw grip! up and down shift whith x and square not whith l1 r1.. :P ant handle the throttle not with your midle finger XD but whith the point finger...i know you dont even care bout handling a controller but i say this just for the talking..
I definitely agree with the x and square for shifting . I’d assume you have been using a controller to play all games during most of your life , just like most of us . I think If u had the same amount of hours invested into wheel driving as the controller u would be faster and way more consistent every lap . Consistency is the main gain .

hi i’m currently having a problem with mine not connecting to my ps5 when i press the ps button i just bought it brand new
Just bought a t248 Friday and today a basic cheap wheel and wheel frame. I am disappointed as to me the wheel feels like trying to steer a wheel on a car with no power assistance, apart from being notchy when starting gt7.
Perhaps I’m expecting to much from the wheel and this is normal ?
Hallo kireth your videos are really nice you explaim everything very well i just started gt 7 on ps 5 and so far really great game but i noticed since day 1 it is a challenge on controller im still good and getting gold but something is holding me back i dont have this precision and so on just ordered thrustmaster t gt 2 cant wait to try this game on a wheel. Thank you for the content 🤘😎👍
10/10 man!! 8nm Fanatec
I have the same g pro wheel. But there is still a bug where i have to adjust ffb strength and trueforce every time i play gt7 because otherwise its like default settings. Cant believe they dont fix this till tiday :(
I like how you had to keep that Fanatec in frame when zooming in to the pedal options, that's a nice subtle hint when you're sponsoring another company 😉😂
That trueforce is great though
I'm currently using an old G27 and have modded the brakes with Truebrake. Still considering whether it's worth it to upgrade to the G Pro wheel 🤔
I’m running on a G 29 with inverted brakes. But I’ve looked at the truebrakes and I was wondering how they feel to you as of a real car with hydraulics.
@@noahbarton6397 they feel super good tbh. Even though I've never played with load cell pedals before with truebrake I'm relying on pressure even though you can't call it a true load cell.
I’ve been using the logitech 923 for a couple of weeks now, but can’t seem to find how to change the pedal controls. Right now, the middle pedal is set to handbrake (which is very disturbing because it makes the car drift). Can anyone tell me how to change the middle pedal to a normal brake?
can anybody answer if gt7 has online on console? i can’t figure out how to get there. i have the ps4 disc with the ps5 if that helps.
I console race with Logitech G Pro too Kireth love it for console racing and PC no doubt but if need more NM PC has a big ecosystem but I feel thats all i am getting more force nothing else
Love clarkson falling out car
Im still saving up. I was looking into the Fanatec GT7 DD. This one is a bit pricier tbh. I still race on my ps5 control. Im new to sim racing but im loving GT7
Im using a fantatec csl elite v2 wheelbase and v1 pedals all usb and plugged into my ps4 but the pedals don't show working.
How do I fix
Plug pedals into wheelbase then wheelbase to ps4. If that's how you did it I'd say contact manufacture.
@@frizzlefry1921 unfortunately I have usb pedals. What's the connect for wheelbase abit new to the better wheelbase stuff
i recently picked up a fanatec dd bundle and I'm actually slower and less consistent than i am on controller, it's very frustrating
Using a rig setup too?
Just bought a G923!
I was an A driver with a controller. I know the way I will get better is with the wheel but I am not there yet
I switched to a wheel like 6 months ago. Used the controller for the first yesterday since buying the wheel setup. I’ve gotten a lot better on wheel, but I’m still faster on the controller
Discount code doesn't😢 work on pro wheel
Did you use the code KIRETH ?
@@Kireth I did
NVM it does work 🙏🏽🙏🏽
Enjoy and let me know how you find the wheel!!
Just received my wheel. This thing is beautiful. Thanks for the discount also 🤜🏽🤛🏽
might have helped overall if you weren’t using wet tires.
Im debating the T248 vs G923. Or just save up a bit more and get the Fanatec DD GT Bundle.
Would definitely take into account the return/repair processes from the places you are buying from as well
If going cheap I’d go a t300rs gt over a t248 . G923 seem pretty agricultural but also reliable . . .
I’d honestly wait n save for a dd, yes it will be more expensive at first , but you will Save money in long run . Cause upgrading is inevitable.
Started with a g29, immediately dumped it for a t300 rs. Got a psvr2 and swapped career fields so that I can soon get a DD setup…. Shits like crack
for slow, most road cars, controller is good enough, but for gr1 and similar, for formulas, controller is a HELL OF A NO ! :D Ive just tried Nations Rd1 qualifier in Spa.. Controller just cant turn fast enough, and if u make it more sensitive, it was to sensitive when u try to do minimal inputs :D
Just bought the thrustmaster t300rs and boi I was more performant on controller😂 I'm ahh now😂
Top video Kireth
I see myself to be quite good with the controller and very smooth .. but after 6 laps with my new g29 i beat my controller time xD ..
I just got the thrust master
Anyone has a Logitech G Pro and would like to swap for Fanatec *Nm DD ? :D
Today’s my first day using a race wheel… bruh I am trash. A lot harder than I thought lol.
1st day on a awesome journey!
@@Kireth looking for videos on how to get better. Driving like miss daisy on this entry forza level
@@Kireth also looking for games with maybe tutorials or practice modes. Appreciate any suggestions.
I’m right there with you. What wheel did you get
@@Kireth I’ve gotten better. I found some practice courses and I’ve gotten better. I still play most racing games on easy tho lol
because you aren't using your index finger for throttle. square and x for shifting. on controller with proper settings its impossible(olmost) to spin out. on controller you can go from lock to lock in .25 seconds. on wheel it can take 1.5 seconds+.controller nets better times period. no debate necessary.try a test on wheel that your barely losing and switch to controller..gold by 1+ second ...
a video about conecting a peripheral to a console? or follow a basic start up guide that comes with your product?. It sure is 2024
Being a real driver, do you not find inverted pedals much better? That's how i use mine
For the life of me I can’t go Mt on contrôler lol😅
new to GT7 inspired by watching your channel (and recently subscribing). Mid-50s wannabe racer which my son just loves........NOT !!
😢
@kireth.
I’m quicker with my controller and it’s smooth

i am 1 sec faster in controller... i have g29 and i cant correct nothing... with controller i can drift all the track if i wanted... you hold your controller wrong :P you dont need claw grip! up and down shift whith x and square not whith l1 r1..
Its just so god dang hard to drift on a wheel tho.....
