The best part of the Logi wheels are that they are built like a tank. Some of us are poor and don't have companies giving us free wheels, and we can't afford to upgrade really, so we had to go with the wheel that was more likely to last. My logitech has thousands, and thousands, and thousands of hours on it, and is still working as well as the day I got it 6 or 7 years ago. The gears are inherently less likely to fail than a belt system. Just something to keep in mind.

I have had one driver force, one driving force pro and lastly a fanatec car.
The fanatecs I bought more recently, and......pots on the pedals were cheap and kept rusting away, the belt lasted just one year. Total price of the fanatecs was well over 300quid (£'s).
My Logitechs are still working great and one was sold and soon I'm going to be selling my other Logitech.
      Upshot, I bought a g293. Why?
Build quality is good, but to be honest, I just love the mechanical feel of the Logitech stuff. If you've ever driven a real car, you know that despite being smooth, the unmistakable mechanical feel is always there. The belts give none of that, but Logitech does.
      It's the jank man.

@@bonglandgreg I like the feel of the gears too! lol. I don't know what it is, I just do. I'm definitely glad I upgraded to a set of Fanatec CSL load cells though. The pedals were a huge upgrade over the Logitech ones.

Got my G923 in Oct. 2022 and have zero complaints. It's a superb starter wheel for sure.

What percentage do you have you Force feedback on?

Thinking of getting between this and thrusmaster but the Logitech is way cheaper

    • @LowCountryMack
      @LowCountryMack ปีที่แล้ว

@@bigsam9987 I believe my FFB is set at 88% at the moment, ( I think). Audio feedback is 65% for ACC. I still play with settings depending on the FFB meter while driving since learning about clipping.
If the FFB meter stays in the red to much, your FFB settings are to strong and that's called clipping. Basically after a certain point, the feedback the wheel sends you isn't accurate because it's receiving to much signal from the Sim/ Game to be accurate.
On the other hand, a little red is ok.
You've got me interested in finding out if stronger feedback settings will effect the wheels lifespan.🤔
G923 is a great investment for a starter wheel. I've got no complaints.

Returned the G29 for the G923 cause the G29 just felt off having no haptics, its crazy just how much haptics make such a HUGE difference, the vibration and the enhanced break pedal really make it hard to reccomend the g29, price diff is small enough to justify a MUCH better wheel with the g923

I have a G920 since 2017 and it doesn't skip a beat. The only mod that I have done to it is add hall sensors to the pedals. It's not like I have much choice since imports are highly regulated in Argentina and the inflation is crazy so even a T300 would be a dream upgrade. My plan is to eventually get a sim rig and VR (also hard to find here). Thankfully these things are good enough and super reliable.

Of course it's worth. For occasionally playing racing games just enough. Buying Fanatec, Moza and similar expensive maybe have a sense for the people who want to build tiny simulator and get some more fun but with this wheel nobody will be wrong at all for a casual daily gaming experience. I'm a professional driver and believe me even in a heavy trucks you'll never feel that enormous ffb even when I drove a months ago Lancia Delta Integrale car from the 80s on Rally show haven't noticed so many enormous forces just like players expect because have no sense even in real racing where nowadays all racing cars have power steering and assisting mechanisms.

  • @MWRotary

I think that drifting with the g923 is extremely underrated. The greatly improved rotational speed thanks to the new 1000hz they added to work with true force, which means 0 needs of LUT files and calibrate it overtime in AC for example. If a person came from a wheel that's more powerful, fine you won't feel much difference between the models but coming from a g29 or older and using the tips of good old light hand driving instead of grasping with all force like it had 8nm of torque will quite improve your sense of details during racing and drifting overtime. Used to hate my g29 when I first got it Until I got a free upgrade to g923 and started using it right, weak wheel? Light hands.

Thanks for this! I bought the G923 last summer to play Gran Turismo Sport. Although the feel and build quality were a big step up from my old Logitech Driving Force Pro, I was really disappointed about the amount of loud plastic clanking the Force Feedback generates in the wheelbase. It occasionally spoils the immersion. That said, I really enjoy the sensation of the TrueForce through the wheel itself, which has refreshed my GT Sport gameplay. I'm tempted to upgrade to a DD wheel to increase the immersion but the cost is way too high. Until they become cheaper, the G923 is an excellent entry-level wheel. 👍

I bought the G923, shifter and AXC truebrake. They were only "OK". The wheel is loud and clunky. The AXC improved the brake but not by much. Switching to Fanatec CSL elite V2s was night and day vs the AXC.
The shifter is terrible, every time you touch it you know you are feeling a toy. The pedals also feel like a toy, and the wheel feels slightly nicer than the pedals but is also not good. The wheel is smaller than it should be, has weak force and makes loud noises.
In AC - I tried everything, LUT file, no LUT file, every recommended FFB setting I could find, etc. I used FFBclip app, all kinds of stuff really.
I never could get the FFB feeling good.
I replaced the G923 with a VRS DFP wheelbase and a nice steering wheel. Now I can enjoy sim racing.
I am going to sell off my G923, it was only useful for letting me know that I enjoyed simracing... and that I should spend more money to get the proper gear.

That is an interesting experience you have shared, as I use a G29 and think the force feedback tells me everything I need to know. Even when I play ACC, a sim notorious for its FFB being subpar for low detail consumer grade wheels, I am able to keep the car on the track most of the time. Perhaps the G923's "trueforce" makes the wheel produce worse force feedback compared to an original G29 model?

@@bubbleman2002 For ACC w/ my Logitech, I set my settings according to that FFB video that Aris.Drives put out.
The FFB felt ok, I haven't had a chance to setup ACC for my new DD so I don't have anything to compare it to.
I watched a review of the G wheels by callsign before I bought my G923. What he said was correct - I was able to feel understeer/oversteer/etc thru the wheel.
My main complaint is more about the overall feel of the wheel I think. I play in VR and I am trying to remove anything that lessens immersion / add items to increase immersion.
The loud clack/clunk of the FFB with the Logitech really drove me crazy. Also when driving feeling the gear lash was pretty annoying.
I kept getting things from the Logitech that made me realize "You are not driving a racecar, you are sitting in your room playing pretend."
My first post was maybe a little too harsly worded, I would recommend a Logitech wheel to someone wanting to dip their toes in - with the caveat that if they do like the hobby they will get the itch to upgrade and lose a little cash in the process.
The shifter I would not recommend. The SHH shifter is a much better product for just a little more $$ (assuming PC player vs console that is).

I have put over 1,000 hours of hard driving on my G29. The only thing that has broken on it is the face buttons no longer work, as the connector was not routed properly when assembled, and the wire that connected to the face plate buttons disintegrated from being twisted and untwisted hundreds of thousands of times. The brake pedal is very soft after the rubber buffer piece they put in it has been worn out, the throttle and brake pedals occasionally give input when they're not being touched, but this is easily corrected by jiggling the pedals and maybe a squirt of contact cleaner. Perhaps the newer ones are built more poorly, but mine is from 2018, I think.
edit: The Logitech H pattern shifter also has a minor fault, in which it doesn't register the reverse gear as reverse unless you push the gear selector towards the gate wall between 4th and 6th/R. It will instead choose 6th gear if you do not press it against the leftmost side of the gate as you select it, however, once reverse is selected, you can let go of the shifter and it stays in reverse.

Well even in Race cars you have some power steering including rally cars or just F1. The main thing is that ffb in gaming racing wheels aren't especially reflecting the reality because it can play a faulty unit in a real car on the track where these forces you can actually feel with highest speed even when cornering. Old racing cars were producing lots of forces but not necessary today in modern racing cars. So for me watching all these people demanding enormous shakes and forces from the wheel is just a little bit of a parody. Debatable imho. The G line of Logitech wheels when properly dialed in offer a remarkably smooth and detailed Ffb. A bit less dampened than the belt drives and the wheels are "faster" for a similar level of force. I used to own a T300 still own a DFGT and a CSW v2.5. Properly dialed in, the DFGT offers an experience on par with a T300 imho. Obviously weaker but within the same ballpark.

@@Heldermaior lmao are you seriously comparing a t300 to a dfgt? its leagues ahead, belt driven, basically double the torque, way faster, way smoother and more detailed ffb and its way quieter. Dont get me wrong the dfgt is a great value wheel, but it just doesnt compare to the t300

@@cesarjuniorcardoso1 I am saying that although better, it is not that big a difference yes. That is what I found having owned both of them. And a G27 for a brief period of time. Gear wheels are faster than equivalent belt driven wheels. That is one of the differences

Hey Amir! Could you elaborate? In what terms is T248 better than g923? I would be thankful since I am considering both products. Is the force feedback really that crucial? Which one would be better for novice simracing and which one for novice drifting experience? Thank you in advance! :)

Is it true that this wheel has more pedals than G29, in the back, near sequential shifter?

  • @LordVaderPOR

Had a G29 for exactly 1 year, and felt the need to upgrade to a T300 RS GT. At least it felt like an upgrade and honestly is better. Loved my G29, great build quality but the ability to change wheel rims on the T300 is just too good. Now all I need is to get the SF1000 Ferrari Wheel and I'm golden xD

@@SnipingWatermelon nah mate, sold mine immediately after I got the T300, and honestly nowadays for the prices that you pay for a G29 you're better off buying a direct drive, Fanatec has a great bundle and it costs less than a G29 which is baffling
