    Believe in your product. Believe in yourself. Sell to the customer's needs, not to your own commission. Educate the customer why they need your product. This is true of all sales.

    My coach has said many times, the best way to learn is by action. You can study all you want, but until you get yourself in front of people, you're not gonna get anywhere. Some of the best advice you can get in this industry. It's simple, but powerful. One thing I learned in the insurance industry is you gotta have thick skin! Rejection is gonna be a common theme for a while. Take your notes and keep pushing forward.

      Good at talking to the right people and identifying the right people to talk to*
      just shooting at the hip with cold calls, in my opinion, is a very outdated method and no matter how silver your tongue is, most people will assume you're a scammer and hang up the phone, even if you're relying on some "winning script" or have immense charm. If you can identify who is the right person to talk to that will understand the value of insurance policies and is open minded, I think anyone can win at that point. "You can't say the wrong thing to the right person and you can't say the right thing to the wrong person".

I started with a company that requires a lot of training/shadowing for newbies (which is a good thing.) I would not have been able to do it without a base salary though. I get the salary for working on marketing for the agency. What he says about analysis paralysis makes sense and I am glad I watched it. There is so much information that it doesn't make sense to try to learn it all immediately. I have learned more from actually quoting someone and asking for help from colleagues than I have from studying. I would say practice quoting yourself and friends/family. Good luck!

    So a broker is what you want if you like lame/bro terms and genuinely want to help people?
    And I'd say it is kinda a good idea to keep a list if available of insirance plans "product" prices so that you can say..
    Example: oh my mis..."jankens"
    you say you are paying an excessive plan of 300+ a month..😱
    well I found plans that do basically what you already have.. maybe even plus a few extra benefits.. and you save 120$ a month 😆
    (60+yo)Mis jankens: oml thank you! 🥺
    Boom! client loves you forever.. and with honesty

    I just saw this video after working in sales for a few years. I come from a background of door-to-door and business development. Constantly networking with the local Chamber of Commerce and one on one with small business. Coming from that side of the business pie. What recommendations and or challenges can I expect coming into this?

    I’m currently in the funeral/ burial insurance industry (pre need with a mortuary). I’ve been doing this for 3 years now and I’m 1099, is life insurance similar? We/I prospect, do seminars and event booths and set appointments everyday, cold call, etc. it’s very similar right? And the pay structure depending on what company you work for and if you’re W2 or 1099?

    • @DavidRashtyH2H
      @DavidRashtyH2H 8 หลายเดือนก่อน

      It's very similar! Sounds like your book growing activities are consistent with Life Agents (the good ones at least!)

    The only reason you say it's difficult is because you did things the hard way. There are easier ways.

    • @stevendaniel9854
      @stevendaniel9854 ปีที่แล้ว +8

      I think that's the point as a new agent? There are easier and hard ways, but you don't and won't know them yet. If you picked a perfect mentor and bypass many of the new agent mistakes, good for you, that is honestly great. But the vast majority of people will be entering this career with the knowledge they picked up from the license course or a basic overview of what the job entails. Also some things that work great for one person may not be the same for everyone. That's why there are differing opinions about the BEST way to go about the business......

    I got my license and I have a company that wants to give me an appointment but I’m starting to have second thoughts. I come from a logging background and I’ve never done sales at all. I’m getting to old to keep logging my body is starting to tell me I need to find a safer career. I just don’t know what to do. It’s such a huge risk because I have kids that rely on my income. Anyone else feel this way?

    The link to finding a trusted company to work for isn’t working, anyone know where I can find that page ? Or advice on what companies to start at as a complete newbie in insurance ?

    • @DavidRashtyH2H
      @DavidRashtyH2H 8 หลายเดือนก่อน

      It might be worth connecting with agents at a company on LinkedIn and asking for a coffee meeting. Ask them about their experiences and if they feel supported. Lots of agents get sold a dream by a company but then are offered no support. LinkedIn can also show average tenure at a company. If a company has high turnover that can be a sign it's not good on the inside

    I'm 18 years old, and I'm almost done with my training, getting ready for the exam ( my mom is a insurance agent and wants me to help/ help me). I'm going to college near the end of August. Which leads me to the question: Is it just me who feels like I know nothing? I've watched all the videos and done all the quizzes and yet I feel like I barely know anything. Its as if I only remember what I failed to remember in the practice exams I have done so far... There are five practice exams and I have so far taken them each twice because I failed the first time and I cannot continue if I don't pass. Is this a sign that I'm not ready to take the final exam?

    • @biscuitsandgravy1240
      @biscuitsandgravy1240 ปีที่แล้ว +7

      Just go take the exam. I crammed the entire life and health course in four days; found a seat the fifth day. I didn’t take any of the big practice exams because I didn’t want to lose my confidence taking the exam. I went in and passed on my first try, it was hard! I am not a natural test taker, something that helped was to determine the two wrong answers then select the right answer from the two remaining answers. Hope that helps!

    This is a high paying industry and people NEED insurance agents to HELP THEM get the RIGHT insurance
    In order to help them, you HAVE to know ENOUGH…..otherwise you DONT KNOW HOW to help them
    And if you aren’t helping them by selling them something, what ARE you doing to them? Hurting them??
