A 2 door variant would also be awsome, I mean this already gonna outpace the Bronco in quality & the mpg for a similar price tag. Curious to see what will happen with dealer mark up.
I love this land cruiser. everything is perfect about this rugged SUV
I’m pretty smitten myself.
These are cool, but I don't see these as competition for the Bronco. If someone wants a two or four-door vehicle with a removable top and doors and manual transmission, they're not taking a look at any Toyota product. And for off-road performance, Bronco has much better angles, bigger tires, and a front locker.
I think the real competition for this is going to be Toyota's own other vehicle, the GX550. By the time you buy the Land Cruiser and maybe add a few options, you're close to the cost of a base GX550 Overtrail.
See our Community page… I was blown away by the results.
Totally agree just the fact that you can get a bronco in manual transmission gives it a leg up on this vehicle
@@GTGarageTalk I took a look. I'm not surprised, honestly I'd rather have the LandCruiser/GX. That aside, I'm not cross-shopping the two, and I doubt most of the other respondents are. They have such different design features, they're not really compatible. The Toyota is going to make a great daily, the Bronco is great for a weekend toy that skews towards more offroad stuff. Just my .02.
Got my 2024 1958 Land Cruiser for $63800. Includes $1500 in options and dealer mark up of $4700.
Thanks for sharing.
65+ THOUSAND $$$$$$$$$ ....I don't think Bronco needs to worry much
How much do you think Broncos cost?!? lol.
Well you do know that the Broncos are up in the $80,000 mark don't you? I'd rather have the Toyota and have better quality for that type of money.
Clearly you don’t own an off-road Bronco.
Thanks so much for the video. I think I have enough experience to comment. I still have my 93' LC. I currently drive my 02' LC every day. It's still beautiful and worthy and hard to give up. They have just been beasts and allowed me to go anywhere I wanted cross country and I have lived in Montana the last 28 years close to Glacier Nat'l Park. I have pulled trailers every year, boats every summer, and never had a problem with power. I have NEVER been on the side of the road needing service for either one. They have never needed major service except for new brakes (they weigh a lot). I have pulled hundreds out of snow banks and pulled my husband in his 14' Tundra out of snow banks too many times to count. The cargo space has always been huge, carrying so much outdoor gear it's been insane, so I'm not thrilled with the "unflat" surface when second row is up. I was hoping you would return to the rear and show that. And if your not going to give me a standard 3rd row, I'm not crazy about all the reminders. I love my V8 so I guess driving this new model will be something new. All this crying and moaning about the Bronco. I can count the number of Broncos here in NW Montana on one hand. So.....
Curious about head room, more that the 24 4Runner? I’m 6.2 and 4Runner is kind of a bummer. Thanks
Great review! When do you think we’ll get some driving experience reviews?
I have not heard when driving experiences will be happening.
@@GTGarageTalk will be following and waiting anxiously 😁
4 cylinder mall crawler for 100k? Jeep and Broncos have nothing to worry about. Pretty truck but the only dirt this will see will be the antique fair lot. Off road roots indeed.
lol. Harsh words. Just know that when we get one, it’s hitting the dirt!
I like the side view mirrors.. to me the sort of resemble the FJCruisers .
Smart for Toyota to get away from the land yacht to a more rugged tight on/off roader look.
sweet
👍🏼
The design line on the rear door has nothing to do with the absence of shades. The GX has them and it's the same design line. It's the cheapening of the LC vs the GX.
👍🏼😉
Did Toyota give you a sheet with details and talking points?
No.
NEW TOYOTA LANDCRUISER 250 😎👍
👍🏼👍🏼
First, the top-spec model is the 'First Edition' (not the 'Launch Edition'). And it has round headlights (not rectangular). And the old Land Cruiser was a 200 Series (not the 250 Series). This new Land Cruiser is a 250 Series-the latest/new version of the Land Cruiser Prado...that's rebadged as a 'Land Cruiser' vs 'Land Cruiser Prado' for the USA. Toyota has the new 300 Series full-size Land Cruiser for other markets. And that old 200 Series as most certainly NOT a "Mall Cruiser". One could argue the old 200 Series was more of a proper Land Cruiser than this new Land Cruiser (Prado) 250 Series. Just some corrections to your video. And I am excited for this new Land Cruiser (Prado) 250 Series. Nice the USA finally gets the Land Cruiser Prado without Lexus badges/bling (the GX). Thanks for putting the video together.
😉
I can order a Bronco and have it in six months @ MSRP. Not so much with the Land Cruiser. Low dealer allocations and excessively marked up.
you also get the worst car in the US with a Bronco
I’ve spoken to several dealers local to me, mark-ups are not happening as of yet on the new LC, me thinks Toyota is highly discouraging the practice but who knows for sure..
dealerships mark up 10k probably
Everything but the price is good
I feel that way about almost all new vehicles not named Chevy Trax…
nice but the dealer mark ups, old land cruiser 200. Toyota only sold the top top luxury trim level in the U.S. thats why no one bought them it should of been more of a utilitarian model , but we would love a LC 300 base utilitarian model over the Lexus LX600 sequoia TRD PRO both are more of a 3 row luxury family school bus
We’ve always said, dealers won’t mark up if people quit buying with markup.
LX and Sequoia are odd ones to me. TX and Grand Highlander are better 3-rows, and this Land Cruiser will be better off-road.
@@GTGarageTalk yes true toyota dealer said $500 deposit plus $3999 in added options and features let the rich kids and dealers fight over them for a few years first edt is way over priced
LX 600 $130,000, WOW!!!!
Fuel tank capacity ?
17.9 gallons.
68 l
Needs a Non hybrid base trim
My bet is that will come on 4Runner
Diesel or gasoline?
Gas/hybrid
I called my dealer to buy one...the waiting time is 3years in Canada to get one. This is ridiculous.
yikes.... I would be calling around. This early though, how could they know?
Not really a competitor to wrangler or bronco. FJ Cruiser might have been. Defender and grenadier would be
4 door
Off road
SUV
Seating for 5
Locking diffs
Disconnecting sway bar
Sounds like a Bronco to me…🤷🏼♂️
Fair points but the new 4Runner will be the Toyota competitor to the Bronco and Wrangler. In fact, I assume they'll make the new 4Runner even closer to the Bronco and Wrangler due to the new, smaller Land Cruiser in the USA (vs. the old 200 Series)@@GTGarageTalk
Comparing apples to oranges. The Bronco’s roof comes off. The Bronco can come with 35s directly from factory (and most do). Nothing wrong with Landcruiser but it’s really like every other SUV but more capable off road.
🧐
Why post this, when I can't even find one to buy ????
They will be on sale later this year.
Great vehicle, but the price is high.
I feel that way about almost all new vehicles not named Chevy Trax…
Nice SUV, off-roader not so much unless you call forest roads Offroad.
🤔
Trust me, when we get one to test it won’t be on forest roads
Lmao so a 4cyl is fine and dandy in this but a 4 and 6 not for a bronco ? Plus they are different markets. Bronco and Jeep , are in the same market. This is an off-road capable suv and ford has the explorer and expedition timberline and gmc has theirs also. More refined .
Meh... I was hoping for more off-road capability straight from the manufacturer. Hoping that the upcoming 4Runner will bring that level... I don't see this vehicle as a Bronco or Wrangler competitor.
My predictions on 4Runner.
Similar size
Cheaper price
Optional 3rd row
Turbo4 only powertrain. (No hybrid)
Toyota Land Cruiser should never be compared to a Bronco. Not in the same class. Different class of buyer.
Same price. Size. Intended recreational use… 🤷🏼♂️
People keep commenting about price. It’s called capitalism. 🇺🇸
I don’t think material possessions are that important. 🤷🏼♂️
This is in no way competition to a bronco
Our polls on our community tab would say otherwise.
@@GTGarageTalk when I see these vehicles out on the trail with wranglers and broncos then I’ll believe your polls
🫡
They are ghost. Where can you buy them.
Later this year.
Why would you put BRONCO on your caption? Its not even close to be compared with BRONCO the design is so FUGLY they are not in the same league hahaha.
Because they are similar.
Needs a diesel
😯
Broncos suck regardless
😯
The same flat form with 2024 Toyota Tacoma which just broke its axle few days ago while being tested by TFL.
The axle didn’t break at all! It’s a protection in the transfer case that transfers the rear driveshaft rotation to the front driveshaft rotation that broke. So the front wheels would not get any power because a protective part broke. The part is meant to brake before a more expensive part gives, like the differential or the transfer case.
They have 20 engineers on it and will quickly find either a manufacturer defect (DENSO or someone else makes them for Toyota) or they will re-engineer it to be stronger. So it won’t be a problem for long.
