  • We made a new rabbit hutch. Our old wire cage we made in the summer wasn't working out. The black wire we used was being chewed up by the rabbits because the gauge was too light. This one will last for years! Other than the wire, it was made with completely free materials.

How fun! Yes, rabbits can be heavy. We used to raise rabbits. Its so hot here, we kept them on frozen water bottles throughout the day. Wintering them was much less work. ❤❤❤ New friend

Yes, winter is definitely better for rabbits. I always try to find a place with afternoon shade for them in the summer.

The effort is appreciated, well done on the dedication to making something new.
Still blows my mind that people keep rabbits in such tiny, wire bottomed boxes.
Lagomorphs need as much room as cats to wander, a ludicrous amount of hay and assorted veg, and dedicated nesting/hide boxes even when they're not breeding.
Rabbit coup for your next project maybe?

Thanks for the feedback. We're actually planning on making a run system for them this summer. Our winters are pretty harsh, but we're excited to give more space when the seasons allow. :)

Here's a video of our chicken tunnel. We're thinking about something similar for the rabbits. What are your thoughts? th-cam.com/video/7jaCwe-Qvbk/w-d-xo.html
