Just purchased your plans to update my son's rabbits' hutches. What a valuable resource! Your simple design made it affordable enough for his budget to build 2 for an estimated $300 (we already have the metal roofing and screws which is helpful). We homeschool and this will be such a great learning experience for him too. Thank you for taking the time to put this together and share. (I just realized I am accidentally commenting from his TH-cam account). :)
Just got done building one of these and I'm so happy with it! The plans are clear, concise, and just beautiful. I'm pretty experienced so I usually just wing it when I build things but this plan saved me a lot of time, money, and trips to the lumber yard! I live in a rainy area so I upgraded to pressure treated 2x4's and added siding to the exterior of the dens. I also split it into two pens with one smaller den on each end, with two roof doors. My bunnies are very much enjoying their upgrade! Thank you for sharing such a wonderful product.
Good morning I just found your channel yesterday and I watched several of your videos already. You do such a great job on your videos!! Very professional!! I'm 65 years old and live in Indiana. When I was a young boy my Dad and I raised meat rabbits for a number of years till I got out of high school and got married. Those were some of the best years of my life and you are bringing those memories back to me to enjoy all over again. Please keep doing what you're doing because you are such a natural in front of the camera and that is no easy thing to do. Thank you so much and take care. Larry
Love your set up for one reason and one reason only, you are organized and you keep your system clean as you can. This is healthy for everyone and much easier to raise food this way. God Bless

I absolutely love the hutches! ❤❤❤ I love watching and learning from your channel! I’ll be getting those plans Friday for sure, because I already know they are beyond worth it! I built the teal hutch from a year or so ago and that thing is amazing! Can’t wait to build the grow out hutch! The best design I've seen. That 14 Guage wire is a must have for the bottoms. I split my hutches in half and have two rabbits per hutch. So clean now and i can move them around to different locations to keep from much build up.
For those of you on a budget, you can get a vinyl coated hardware cloth at any farm supply or big box hardware store. Menards has it for $11 for an 2'×8' roll.

Oh my gosh Tiffany, I'm so happy to see this, I would love to talk with you. I will love to make these and will order your plans. Thank you for sharing. Till next time God Bless.
So for a small operation; you have individual hutches for the does and the buck (2 does 1 buck), and a grow out hutch for the babies? Cycling the litters in and out of the hutch?
We are about to bring rabbits into our homestead here. I’ve had them in the past but it’s been several years . I think I’m gonna do New Zealand or a silk rabbit.
I don't know if you already have a video about it, you talked a little about it but I would love to see a video about your winter rabbit care where you are? I live in about the same climate and I will be moving and have to change my rabbit setup and want to make sure they have the best setup I can provide.
Hi, thanks to your videos I learned a lot, and now we have four rabbits. I wanted to ask about our 5-month-old male California rabbit. We released him in a closed enclosure where he plays and is very active. However, when he tries to mate, the female often escapes from him, and he seems to be gasping for breath after several attempts. Have you encountered this phenomenon?
I was going to go with KW cages, but after seeing how you built this where your rabbits can't chew on it intrigued me. Now I'm considering a different design.
Very nice!!! If you might be looking for ways to protect the wood, look up the Japanese method of preserving wood called Shou Sugi Ban. No nasty chemicals needed and very easy.
I just found your channel and absolutely love your videos. Thank you so much! I don’t raise or breed rabbits however, every once in a while a while, baby rabbit will make its way into our garage. Today I found two baby rabbits lost in my garden. I know it’s mama or Papa is there somewhere out in the backyard because I see him or her every night. However, I don’t know exactly where the babies came from and would like your recommendation. I can raise them for a while because we live out on a farm, but I am not exactly sure what to feed them. I’ve heard that for the first several weeks, according to other videos, they drink their mother’s milk. I’m not sure how to make that happen or if there’s something alternative that I can give to them right now. They seem to be two weeks old because they can barely see. They are so adorable. I just wanna make sure that they’re safe because we have neighbor cats that seem to eat every little thing in sight including field mice and possibly baby rabbits that I’ve seen them caring around before. I don’t know if they’re playing with the baby rabbits or if cats literally eat baby rabbits. However, I love rabbits so much. I just want to keep them safe until it’s OK to set them free outback. I can also have my husband make a little crate for them and put it in that area hopefully they’ll go back to their spot, just not sure. Again great video wonderful information. Thank you so much again.
Nice cage but... looking at how the wire is attached I would say that your rabbits are easy prey for coyotes, wolves and bear. Unless of course you are in an urban setting I suppose. Also, just for curiosity, how would these rabbits do in the hutches in a -35 C winter storm? I kept my rabbit (in the winter) in an insulated (sort of) structure with a light as a heat source; urban setting, single rabbit, similar design.
@@TealStoneHomestead I have another question, how much does is cost just for one cage also is your building materials list enough for one cage or all 4?
Hey there, i just had question how many rabbits can fit in one of these grow out hutches for them to be happy and not to crowded. And how long do you keep them in this hutch? (I would be raising rabbits for meat)
I’m expecting my first litter on March 7th.. well my doe Buttercup is lol, I’m anxious today is the 2nd and I noticed her pulling fur. I got her bred so I was worried they have her breeding date wrong so added her nest box today. I’m really hoping she isn’t going early. I wish that I was able to find Cream D’Argents here in Georgia. I would LOVE to raise them but to get started I just have New Zealand Whites. After I learn what I’m doing maybe I can find me a pair of Creams

Question for you where did you purchase the wire for this hutch design? Thanks again for all the great info. Next week we are off from work and we are going to build a hutch with your design. How exciting!
Looking for some guidance. I live in Michigan and like your design, my question is what about winter and the open bottom? Do the rabbits not need an area that is enclosed to stay warm?
Looks fantastic! I like a lot of your ideas…. Very thoughtful & innovative! May I ask… why are your feeders on the inside instead of the bin portion on the outside? Thanks! Also love your bunnies!❤
Where did you get that little cube hanging toy? Do you just put hay in there? Just bought the plans, thanks for all you do they look great can't wait to make some of our own!
Thank you for sharing. This is the nicest outdoor hutch design I’ve ever seen. How will it do against predators? I know Indiana doesn’t have anything crazy like bears, but raccoons can be really clever.
@@TealStoneHomestead I had another question about your hutches. Do you have any issues with pee/spray getting into the wood? Particularly the older kits, since it doesn't look like you house bucks in them.
Nice to see you’re finally making some money off these hutch plans. You mentioned the wire being the most expensive part of your build. Do you figure it’s on par with the cost of KW cages? I am about to build a 4 hole hutch using your original plans and will still need a growout after that. Wondering whether it may be cost effective to purchase enough wire for both and make the modular cages myself.
I bought your plans and just sat down to start marking my wood, and im immediately confused. On the front and back legs, is the length given for the short or long side? In the future, i think it would be better to share the length of the short and long sides of the cut, instead of giving one measurement and an angle.
Check out the blog to buy the plans! Happy building!

You should sho sugi bon the wood on the cages to preserve it and make it last longer.

Question for you where did you purchase the wire for this hutch design? Thanks again for all the great info. Next week we are off from work and we are going to build a hutch with your design. How exciting!
Oh! I just realize you’re in Indiana and so am I!!! 😂
Love this!
Looking for some guidance. I live in Michigan and like your design, my question is what about winter and the open bottom? Do the rabbits not need an area that is enclosed to stay warm?
I have a video about this if you go to my channel 🙂
I just watched the video this morning. Thank you!
Hello Great plans It shows a space for a discount code What is it Thank you Looking forward to getting the plans.
I really love the creme d argent and new zealand breed how i wish to have that breed here in the Philippines.😊
We put our tin in the same way but we don’t have snow very often
My last hutches were flat on top. It builds up and I’ll have to push it off the edges 😂 but I’ll fix them eventually 😊
@@TealStoneHomestead I built a grow out tractor this year that we pull around so they can eat grass. Worked great.
Nice work
Looks fantastic! I like a lot of your ideas…. Very thoughtful & innovative! May I ask… why are your feeders on the inside instead of the bin portion on the outside? Thanks! Also love your bunnies!❤
One thing that might be an issue is rain water might puddle down in the front where there will be more foot traffic for you.
Yes, that’s definitely a possibility. I have so much leftover pea gravel from concreting the barn. Perhaps we need to make a walkway 😊
Holle
Where were you able to buy your 14 gauge hardware cloth for the bottom? I can't find anything 14 gauge around here
Beautiful hutches, but I could never butcher them. I have a Flemish and a Dwarf. Both are so sweet.
2:27 If you are here to see the hutch and want to skip the intro.
Thank you! No predator issues since building. We have raccoons, foxes, bobcats and coyotes on the property.
Getting ready to buy the plans on the 1st of September so we can build 2 by the end of September for our babies that were born today ☺️
I bought your plans and just sat down to start marking my wood, and im immediately confused. On the front and back legs, is the length given for the short or long side? In the future, i think it would be better to share the length of the short and long sides of the cut, instead of giving one measurement and an angle.
