Certainly, you get what you want when ordering. My #1 choice would be European delivery in Leipzig. Why? You get time on the track in one of Porsche's cars that matches your car. A couple weeks insurance to go see Germany. Porsche is one of the only ones who gives you zero discount for Euro delivery, but so what? They do pay for a night hotel ahead of your tour, track time and car acceptance. Race tex....sorry, not a fan. It just doesn't wear well unless you drive the car with gloves always and wear long sleeves and long pants always. In vehicles I've ordered, I've tended to keep them very simple. Smooth leather. Standard wheels. I might splurge for the carbon roof as I hate sunroofs and would pay extra to delete one. Nice blue. Subaru calls it hyper blue. Ford, grabber blue. It's been around longer than chalk but is a nice color. Have fun with it.
I heard a decade or so ago that you have to pay German Taxes on the car if you do Euro delivery if you so wish to drive your car around Europe. Which would be refunded once you take the car back to where you received it.
This is an example of someone who took a completely different philosophy than me designing the car, but then you picture the end result and still love it. Tbh the best part of this process is you literally cant screw up a 911. Dont listen to snobs. Its your car and they are all amazing vehicles
Hey Will been following you from the beginning, I got mine in late August Gentian Blue, manual trans rear seat delete, glass sunroof ,upgraded lights, shark blue seatbelts, safety features puddle light, decals on door, ambient lights, powered mirrors, gt wheel and heated steering and one I didn’t want to get the burmester sound. Got this all before the price increase. Oh you have to get standard interior to get different color seat belts. Took 14 months before I got the car sat at port in Germany for 2 months Jacksonville over a month. Wishing you the best it’s 100 different from my 18 with PDK.
Ordered last month, being built this month, december delivery. White, manual, carbon roof, gt3 skirts, carbon seats, rear seat delete, rear steer ... adding red decals, changing the wheels and rear deck lid for red aston forged gt3 rims and either the dakar spoiler or new techart ducktail respectively.
White is a great color. It’s a color from experience that you can leave outside and the sunshine won’t effect the paint and fade it. Most all other colors apart from Silver you’d have to keep inside 💯 of the time. Very important here in florida. My other cars colors oh boy. A pain. Especially black cars a nightmare.
Great Video thank you by the way@15:20 You should choose interior trim in this in exterior color that’s a free option, which really enhances your interior
Great video. I am waiting for 922.2 to come next year. Good options on your car, especially the sun glass roof. Makes the cabin brighter and not gloomy.
Congrats! I've heard the sunroof is 25-30 lbs. Not going to make a difference at all (IMO) in your daily or spirited weekend rides so enjoy that sky view!! Great spec!!!
Congrats. Great spec. Looking forward to seeing your impressions when you take delivery. I wish our pricing was so kind. In Australia, we're paying almost 3x what you pay!!
Sold my shark blue GT4 with racing seats 7:17 and got gentian blue 911T with standard wheels and 18 way seats and no rear seats and rear steering with manual transmission and glass sunroof.
Parked my T next to my 981 Spyder with buckets, then decided the T was too sedate so jumped back into a 991.2 C2S. Enjoyed driving the Spyder more than the GT4 bc it’s way more streetable but has the same motor, trans and balance but with an open top. Oh, and the 993 really rounds out the garage.
@@Rennthusiast I got the GT4 because I missed my GT3 RS but although it was great fun on the track it wasn’t enjoyable for general driving. I am hoping I will enjoy the 911T - only 200miles so far.
How does the GT4 compare to the 911T? The 981 GT4 is so raw and pure but the 911T seems so much more practical. Is the T that much less fun as a pure drivers car?
@@Flatsixfiesta The GT4 was a great car and very fast but it was a car for track days and therefore a car to enjoy alone - with a passenger and just making an ordinary journey it was a bit too harsh especially with the carbon buckets. I wanted another GT3RS but they are too expensive now and the 911T with manual although ‘slower’ it is great fun when you drive alone and much more civilised when you have a passenger.
Love your videos. A few comments about your spec. A little background about myself. I currently own a 1987 carrera coupe that I have had for about 10 years. I got one of the first dozen or so allocations for a carrera T about year ago and opted for European delivery. Btw an awesome experience. I spent countless hours on my spec on that configurator. First of all I saw that you clicked the button for rear seats when you state you don’t need them. The carrera T is comes standard with rear seat delete. By clicking the 0 dollar option it adds them back. Second the 4 way seats are very comfortable and think the 18 ways maybe overkill. But if you have back issues etc. maybe the extra adjustments may make sense. With your love of classic Porsches I would strongly suggest you drive a car with Rear wheel steering. Some describe it as an unnatural feeling. If you’re looking for the absolute best track times then spec it but in your situation I would reconsider. The newly announced unobtainable 911 ST does without rear active steering as well with the intent of being the ultimate road going 911. With regards to the rest of your spec the decisions are personal and support them. Hope you enjoy!
Hey. Thanks for commenting. I may have clicked the rear seat add back during this video but I am 100% confident I left the rear seats off. This wasn’t my carefully selected final build, just a demo for the sake of shooting the video.
I spent a lot of time and research going back and forth with the RAS and so glad I didn’t spec it. A lot of the journalists and guys that do these reviews don’t have a clue regarding RAS. In fact there is a Nick Murray video where journalists were raving about RAS and come to find out the cars were not even equipped😊. There is even a write up on the current Carrera T that talks about RAS being so great during the initial drives in California and the car he drove didn’t even have the option. The ultimate validation like I said previously was when Porsche themselves didn’t include it in the ST.
Porsche really ought to give a health warning in relation to their configurator, its just so addictive. I like the way you articulate how the build is one that suits your personal preferences rather than what the other commentators say you need to have. Shark blue is lovely especially with the titanium wheels. Enjoy!
Great build! I own a 992S in shark as well, and mine is quite similar. I think you’ll be happy with how you did it! Being that you really upgraded the interior, I’d add the ambient light package. It’s a nice change to change the cabin lights inside to go with the seasons IMO. It’s a nice touch for not too much money.
I love watching other ppl spec cars and their thought process behind each option. Ive ordered 5 porsches from factory over the last 8 years and I go HEAVY on the options lol... Usually white on bordeaux with full black out or any aerokits etc etc. Anyway cant wait to see your build come to life. When is expected delivery?
Good info. I ended up having to choose a standard color because I did add LCA, wheels and the 18 ways. I drive a couple of Mercedes a daily and LCA is a nice option that I didn’t know I liked until I started driving with it. The buckets would have been nice but the 18 ways should allow me to tighten things up on one setting and touring on another. I left it with a slick roof, stock plastic interior but if money wasn’t an issue I would have picked another color, and the same leather package you did. After taxes I’m close to $150k otd when I factor in the $5k adm which sucks but it doesn’t suck as bad as not having one delivered so I pulled the trigger. The wheels were originally not a add on but the wife likes them as well as the upgraded seats. The surround view seemed like a no brainer.
I also passed on the lane keeping, adaptive cruise, and remote park assist on my AMG. Instead I focused on some of the performance options. Would appreciate feedback as to your rationale and others who made this same decision. Great vid., professional and informative as always.
I just think some of this technology is too intrusive and if I’m 100% honest I don’t have the patience to learn how to use it….plus it’s too much money to add to the build.
@Rennthusiast Thanks! I agree. I thoroughly enjoy driving and am paying attention to what I'm doing. For some of us, it's much, much more than point A to B. Plus, we also have a Volvo SUV when we want to let the nannies be in charge! 😁
Radar up top? You go boy racer! Ordered mine with the glass roof also, same powertrain upgrade with power steer assist (a few engine mods like gts turbos/full IPE exhaust system are on the table anyway to negate any extra weight from options). Metallic Black/Sport kit & skirts (will get full satin PPF) satin black wheels (gold Vossens on the cards), Carrera T side decal will be custom painted Aurum, Aurum Porsche decal seperate order (will be bonnet only), exclusive rear lights/same headlights (will have custom smoke tint). Full lizard green package interior, buckets/rear seat delete, metallic paint matched trim, same race-tex as you but heated race-tex wheel, green tacho/chrono, burmester audio package. This is my 1st 911, ive always had Cayenne's.
I just got done speccing my C4S build and it’s even more daunting. I hate to think how many hours I agonized over it, but like you, I did not want another chalk build on the road and feel the same about the color - I love it, but 4 years ago would have been fine. I went GR instead of SB but those were my top colors. In the end I wanted the vibe of 80’s G bodies and went GR. Plus the price is right. I think your choices are spot on and it’s more of a daily build that makes total sense. Enjoy the process. Mine starts production in a few days so I understand the waiting game. Thanks for presenting your build process!
I was planning to order a Carrera GTS coupe but Porsche recently suspended the PTS option so I have decided to wait to see if they reinstate it for 2024.
Very nice build, shark blue is beautiful. I received my black T in September and it’s been a glorious fall in the car. My approach was to respect the ethos of the car, keep costs lower, but add some items to elevate it. The four big adds were leather interior with red deviated stitching, rear steer, CF roof, and race tex headliner. The minor items were red belts, tach, and chrono, aluminum pedals, fire extinguisher, folding mirrors, and fuel cap. I went with standard black exterior and four way seats. Love this car.
I ordered a Carrera T myself and definitely went in a different direction than you did: chalk, exclusive design Carrera wheels, sunroof in glass, rear seats and full exterior sports design package in high gloss black. You spent a pretty penny on interior and I'm not sure that makes much sense to me, but hey your call. Nonetheless, very enjoyable video. I'm subscribing. Could you make regular videos on your Carrera T journey? Love seeing content of someone going through the process, especially the same car I'm getting. Thanks!
Thanks. I’ll definitely be doing more vids on the T. I’ll do 1 - 2 more on the acquisition experience along with driving review(s) and whatever else I think of. I did the interior bc I learned long ago that while exterior design is important, we end up spending most of our time with the car inside, not outside…but what’s great about these 911’s is we can make them whatever we want!
I love that he went for that sunroof if you have a dark dull interior a glass sunroof is mandatory and it’s great to look at the sky out while driving. You can always put a great heat rejection film on it. I did on 2 of my cars and it’s like hiding under a tree for shade. Wonderful! I like that he got rid of the back seats and made it more practical to carry stuff around and throw stuff in and go. I could almost die my 200 Lb Boerboel Dog in the back now with those useless seats removed. People who have these cars it’s not their daily and have other cars for carrying a lot of people. Those checker seats though Porsche offered though I think would have won my heart over. They are so cool. 18 way seats are also a great choice. Not so fond of the bright blue. If you have to have blue would have gone for Prussian Blue or Marina Blue on a 911 are absolutely well worth the extra P.T.S. When do you see them ?
I have the exclusive design wheels on my 992 Cab manual and I love them. Easy to clean also. GT Silver red convertible top, sporty and classy IMO. Good luck with the car!
Love this channel. Owned a 992 and it was literally too good and easy to drive. Currently own a 997 turbo s. It’s fun but kind of wished a got a 993s I like your spec a lot. I was working with a tighter budget so a bit more bare than yours but similar. Shark blue is the jam.
Fun to watch you go through the process. The only thing I would change other than color preference, is the dash. Always choose a leather dash. The other bits and pieces can be easily changed to leather, race-tek, or whatever material you desire.
Just got my final build date. Mine pretty basic. Guards red aero kit 7 speed. Folding mirror storage smoke pack interior color trim same guards red European delivery
Nice spec, Will. I think you did a great job getting what you want and need. I’ve gone through the configurator a bunch of times and my build would a bit different than yours, but so are my needs. no sunroof for me, i’s love to go aero kit, but if you just add the colored front lip it ties in the color a bit for not very much money. I love racetex, but understand leaving it off certain areas for a daily. Same for LWB’s. They are amazing, but if you’re getting in and out of it all the time I can see going with the 18 ways.
The Porsches engine is the true music to my ears, BUT I love music too, so its 100% spot on for me to order the Burmester sound system close to 5k. I think its worth every penny.
Probably will but that’s ok. I’m going to keep it for the foreseeable future so not too worried about it. Frankly I overbuilt it financially so I’m going in eyes wide open.
This video gave me some visceral anger and then I realized it’s because I’ve spec’d a T every day over the last week or so and my build doesn’t freeze for another 5 weeks so I’ll just keep doing it 😭. Was great to watch someone else go through the madness!!
Regarding the seats. I went with the 18-ways as well because of the memory option. I absolutely hate it when I leave a car anywhere for work done only to come back and see they've messed with my driving position! No matter how infinitely small the chance is with a 911, I did not want that to happen ever so that's why I optioned those seats. That being said I think eventually as the car becomes more modified I'd replace the driver seat with a proper racing bucket haha
I Love the interior decisions you went with. Like taking the rear seats out. It’s not a family car. Makes the load area more practical. Taking off the driving assistance features exactly what I would have done. I think the color though. Eh a little loud and prone to catching tickets as I know you like to curve up the countryside. I would have gone with the Steve McQueen color he ordered 2 of his in. Slate Grey. Then you’d have a Steve edition. Or go with a red interior or white if available. Something different than a dark boring color. And have added more leather as you sit and look at that all the time. Congratulations 🎊🍾
I enjoyed seeing your process for the build. I think the T is my favorite current 911 model. I really like the Titanium Grey accents/wheels. Ive seen some in Lizard Green and it's such a cool color for that car. Otherwise, I would probably go with white. I like Chalk, but I feel like it would clash with the grey accents. Shark Blue is a solid choice though, and I don't think it's super common. 👍
So what is the final price on this thing? I didn’t see it at the end. Also, hopefully you are paying MSRP with your buddy being the GM but can you confirm if you’re paying ADM or not?
I want to get a t in 2-3 years if I’m not in the place to order a new gt3/get blessed with a 2rs allocation. Euro delivery in Leipzig Ruby star, buckets, aero kit and manual with a few other bits and bibs is my current working T dream spec. Came out to 145-150ish which is 991 gt/turbo money
Nice spec Will! Does your brother have a YT channel as well? The carrera T interior package should honestly be standard equipment, Porsche knows how to make that money!
Really nice build! Too many choices. Seats are such a difficult decision. Buckets are sexy but (as you know) not easy to live with. The 4 ways are great, light and work well in my GT3T. The 18 ways are the right choice. I have them in a Targa and they are more comfortable than any seat (even ones in My Home!).
Congrats great spec especially shark blue and staying with the standard wheels and their matching color to the mirrors and decal. I had a 2021 new cayman t in white loved the t so much except for the v4 engine sound so I bought a new 2022 boxster gts 4.0 in shark blue and now I’m happy 😊😊😊
I was on the same boat as you. Sold my 991.2 C2 last year, made a bit on it. I’m enjoying my M3G80 at the moment and my goal is to find a GT3RS or a TS when the market cools off. Great video🤙
As previous mentioned by other people, love watching other peoples thought process when it comes to color, options, seats etc etc. Great video! I just had my, what do you call it..."Change freeze date"?....On Friday 10th November, with scheduled build slot December. First signed an allocation contract on 8th of December 2021, so will be over two years when I finally get the car. Been waiting for PTS to open up, and it finally opens in December. :)
Nicely done….. Just a comment on seats….you didn’t want buckets because of the “bolster.” I have 2 Porsche models…..a 2017 Macan with 18 ways…..and a 2023 911 with 14 ways. A friend of mine’s scrot is STILL snagged on the bolster of my Macan !! 18 ways are really nice….very snug “not going anywhere” fit…..but they have bolsters and there is NOTHING any adjustments will do to change it !! The 14 ways are just all-around a bit easier to use on a daily basis. Obviously, that’s my experience.
Picked my T up last week and I know what you mean…but these 18’s will be much easier to climb in and out of than the Lwb’s…there’s no doubt for me this was the right choice
@@Rennthusiast excellent….and congrats !!! I really do like my 18’s…..it was just a funny….and damned near the truth on my friend ! I’ve done several trips between my home in Oregon and San Francisco in the Macan. ( didn’t have my 911 allocation yet ! ) The trips were very comfortable ( 5 08-180 ) and I would put them in the Macan again. The 911 is my daily…..so the 14’s are just a bit easier for an old man ! Enjoy !!
This is just my opinion as someone who had and sold a base 992. The regular seats and interior is nice enough and if you only added ventilated seats for around $800 it would have taken out the cloth inserts. I would have used the money you spent on all-leather and used it on other must have options imho. I would have gone for the spyder wheels. I had them and they are so beautiful and a must for me. Although, yours are nice, too. The look of plain front lights was the biggest dissapointment for me when I had them. The matrix lights are way nicer and a must for me. Ambient lighting is also needed. Also, the painted side skirt is a must on any 992 other than black. Gives the car a much lower look and stance. Once the price stars going over $135k, you really need to think about going to a 992 S. It would be a really tough choice for me between the S and T. With the S, I could get the agate grey color for cheap and spyder wheels as that is the best combo.
@@Rennthusiast100% agree. Heck, I change the specs every time I try to build a car online. I have since watched more of your videos and will say that you do a great job. Your T looks sharp.
Great feature for sure but it deleted the Carrera t striped centers so I had to forego it. I don’t have vent seats in a couple of others and isn’t too bad.
I saw them in person and actually liked them much better than on the configurator. In a way I would have liked to order them but I like the standard wheels enough to make the cost not worth it to me at all.
Love Shark Blue, great choice though I prefer slick top not sunroof. Clear tail light looks great. Ambient lighting is nice. Rear wheel steer I'm so on the fence on this, don't want any weirdness in handling.
Nice spec overall, especially the colours. The Carrera T would be my 1st choice in the current 992 line-up too ;-) But...wouldn't pick the sunroof option; roughly 20kg (hello from continental Europe :-) on the worst spot, high up! But then again, it's your daily and it'll make for a more airy cabin. Looking forward to your first drive (or unwrapping?) video, always enjoying your views on Porsche's. P.s. Coincidentally I already followed your brother's channel, unbeknownst to me!
@@Rennthusiast it's not a criticism by the way! I'm familiar with the "I'll never buy this car" thing. Personally I'm an Alfa Romeo guy and my mantra was "never a 911". But here I am now trying to educate myself, and that's how I found your channel (very recently, only last week). Still don't know what and if to buy, i have no room in the garage and I can't let go of my Alfa's. My favorites are very diverse: i like the first gen 911/912, the 993 and the 997, for all different reasons. They have in common the fact that they adopt clean exterior lines. I find your channel very interesting and informative. Keep it up!
Thanks for the video. Is there any way to get the dash board stitching without going for the 6900 package? I dont think so. Also any thoughts on guards red? I have a metallic green now or whatever its called but would love to get a red one. Even though ppl smirk at that color.
Need leather for deviated stitching. Guards looks good on these cars. No smirking from me. Here’s my GR Spyder: th-cam.com/video/1sDpdhU88QM/w-d-xo.htmlsi=VfzsJhOwM61eMEb_
@Rennthusiast great car the spyder. I have a 99 986 lol. What do you think about aerokit for the T. I love how the wing looks on a Guards red car. Also, how comfortable are the buckets for commuting? I don't care about getting in and out but comfort is important as I will commute to work twice a week for 2 hrs each way. Thanks a lot!
Nice colour although I prefer the sunroof in body colour as I feel it doesn't interrupt that classic 911 shape so much. Also I'd be seriously tempted with ppts colours as you can't put a price on rarity. Great wee vid as usual Bud👍
@@Rennthusiasttrue, but I think I would have added on another year to the financing just to get it a special color that no one has. Well worth it. I would have gone for either the Steve McQueen color of Slate grey with a brown interior or the green interior looks amazing too. Bright blue it too Subaru WRX and boy racer cop 👮♂️ Catcher. I’d pick a color that flys under the radar so I could drive as fast as I want. Had a silver car before and couldn’t believe how it evaded the cops. I then got the same exact car a Mercedes E class and got a ticket for 59 in a 45 because it was black.
Also the Red interior in Porsches combined with the grey carbon fiber looks absolutely gorgeous! That red interior and slate grey like both of Steve’s 911’s would be so cool!
I have a 911 T on order. Config freeze date is 5/7/24. I'm trying to decide whether to leave the sport seats plus backrest shells as is (dark grey) or change them to interior color or leather, but am having trouble finding a picture of the standard dark grey to see what they look like. Any thoughts/help would be appreciated.
Cool spec, I hope to order a shark blue one but with a tackier interior and carbon roof. Cant decide in smg vs manual but probably got a year before I can reasonably order one.
Depends on your intent for the car and driving preference. The philosophy of the T is a driver-focused 911 so manual makes more sense…but like all things Porsche, do what makes you happy, not what others think is good.
@rennthusiast Hey Im looking to euro delivery my first ever Porsche next year. My budget is 150k tops after all fees. Was there any markup? I hear horror stories about dealer markups
The online configurator is nice to get an idea, but the dealer could have talked you through the order. I guess the drawback is they will obviously be upselling. Being so close to Atlanta as you are I think not choosing Performance Center Delivery is a shame. I get down to the one in LA as much as I can. Nice build and color, I'm sure you'll love it for a few months anyway! If the market stays how it is you can probably drive it for 6 months and sell it at a profit!
I do understand the attractions of the 911 T, but this build comes to about $145K. For that money, I could buy a year-round useable nicely kitted Corvette E-Ray and a Honda Civic for hauling people and stuff. It’s a tough choice that I’ll be making in a year or so.
Ok, (steps on soap box) I'm gonna be that guy, Why get a "T" if you're gonna spec all that heavy crap, just get a "S" and be done with it? You even mentioned "gotta have a manual with a "T". We all know you keep these short term and as someone who is planning on purchasing a "T" next year, I would never consider this build (steps down from soap box). Love the channel, love seeing all the 911/Caymans you buy and your perspective, good luck and enjoy the ride. *thumb up
Thanks! And glad you commented honestly. My 2 cents… Sounds like you and I are on the same page…we both want builds that appeal to us individually. Fortunately we can both build them the way we want. I made this one in alignment with my ownership objective of comfort, a special interior and for sure a driver-focused model (T vs S). My choices just happen to be different than the ones you’d make. Now….contrary to popular opinion, I don’t buy my cars with resale in mind. I buy what I like and I have been told that if you’re thinking about your exit on the way in, when buying the 911, it’s not the right car for you. For sure I’ve turned a lot of cars on this channel but at the same time it’s been a little like Goldilocks…trying to find the ones that are “just right” for me. And, at this point, I’m in a place with my little 4 car collection that I’m happy with it and I don’t see myself selling any of them anytime soon. Gorgeous meteor grey 86, highly original Grand Prix white 993, rare 981 Spyder that is an absolute BLAST…and then this T. Well rounded and special bunch. “Heavy crap” - you’re probably adding back 100 - 110 lbs. 60 for the 18 way seats, 40/50 lbs for the sunroof. Ok, not exactly lightweight choices but choices that will hopefully enhance my enjoyment of the car. Hope you find the T you’re looking for next year, and thanks for watching and for commenting 🙏🏼
Awesome build, only things I would have done differently is no sun roof and the sport design package or at least the front fascia. I think it makes a huge difference in the look of the car.
I thought the money for the cosmetic stuff was too strong. Along the lines of the front end, I will be wrapping the front end in PPF, which I should have mentioned in the video.
I love the sun roof option it will make the car stand out and be nice and airy especially with the dark interior he choose to do. The front fascia i would have gone with just the front done. Because the standard spec has way too much plastic for me to be happy with it. But the optional back facia is ugly so the standard wins out there.
lol the color discussion was so strange to me "I don't know if I could roll around every day in rubystar" i mean if you like the color what difference does it make how often you drive the car? just weird logic heh personally I'd go with plain white (bc white 911's are classic for a reason) or the Gentian Blue ALSO lol no one needs to justify choosing a PDK . . .ever. JFC I forgot how judge-y porsche people are!
I think ruby star is interesting, it’s bold and it’s fun…but I think once I got past the initial excitement of how unique it is I would be looking for something a little less loud.
Really nice spec - if I was ever ordering one I’d go the python green and have the rear seats in place for resale and back up if needed - can’t wait to see it on channel when it arrives 🎉🎯👏👍
Agree with your comments about the standard dash. It’s totally unacceptable for a car north of $100k to have a plastic dash like a Honda Accord. Porsche even put these in their $500k 911 R’s! Embarrassing.
Font axle lift for me is a must have due to the incline on my driveway. We all have our own unique requirements.
Would highly recommend ambient lighting. It's the cheapest option for an elevated cabin experience. I loved it on my 992.
Like it. A little different. Well done.
I have heard from a Porsche dealer tech that it is more in the range of 50+ lbs.
Congrats. Great spec. Looking forward to seeing your impressions when you take delivery. I wish our pricing was so kind. In Australia, we're paying almost 3x what you pay!!
Can blame it on the government. It’s 300 % in taxes.
@@Flatsixfiesta
The GT4 was a great car and very fast but it was a car for track days and therefore a car to enjoy alone - with a passenger and just making an ordinary journey it was a bit too harsh especially with the carbon buckets.
I like the green with tan leather.
Porsche really ought to give a health warning in relation to their configurator, its just so addictive. I like the way you articulate how the build is one that suits your personal preferences rather than what the other commentators say you need to have. Shark blue is lovely especially with the titanium wheels. Enjoy!
LOL good call…the addiction piece
Thank you for the compliment and for watching 🙏🏼
Great build! I own a 992S in shark as well, and mine is quite similar. I think you’ll be happy with how you did it! Being that you really upgraded the interior, I’d add the ambient light package. It’s a nice change to change the cabin lights inside to go with the seasons IMO. It’s a nice touch for not too much money.
Re: rear wheel steer... if i was maneuvering in tight spaces a lot i would consider it, but if Andreas didnt want it in the S/T...
Sorry…just seeing this comment. It arrived last week!
ppl? Can't you write properly?
Wow! Congratulations on your order.! Looking forward to your new build vids
Super nice spec, congrats!
Hey, is that for the US market only ? Which was your desired PTS ?
Very nice build, shark blue is beautiful. I received my black T in September and it’s been a glorious fall in the car. My approach was to respect the ethos of the car, keep costs lower, but add some items to elevate it. The four big adds were leather interior with red deviated stitching, rear steer, CF roof, and race tex headliner. The minor items were red belts, tach, and chrono, aluminum pedals, fire extinguisher, folding mirrors, and fuel cap. I went with standard black exterior and four way seats. Love this car.
Congrats on the allocation! You picked a great color.
Thank you for your efforts in doing another nice precise video. I hope when you get your new companion, it rings all the bells for you !
It’s fun but kind of wished a got a 993s
I like your spec a lot. I was working with a tighter budget so a bit more bare than yours but similar. Shark blue is the jam.
993 prices are still too high. Should be some better buying opportunities in 2024 👍🏻😎
@andyjackson5404 agreed
Fun to watch you go through the process. The only thing I would change other than color preference, is the dash. Always choose a leather dash. The other bits and pieces can be easily changed to leather, race-tek, or whatever material you desire.
makes sense on the leather dash going to be building my 992 soon definitely a manual like my 991.1
He does have a leather dash on this one.
Thanks for the video! I would go the lightweight route with a T, no sunroof, no rear wheel steering, buckets etc. 😅
Manual transmission 👍
Rear seat delete 👍
Sunroof 👎
Everything else is personal preference.
For me the hardest choice would be the seats
Looks great. Hope you don’t get hit too hard with the depreciation on this.
Probably will but that’s ok. I’m going to keep it for the foreseeable future so not too worried about it. Frankly I overbuilt it financially so I’m going in eyes wide open.
I'd add the ionizer considering how polluted the air is these days. Other than that I think it's a really nice spec, going to be a special car. Enjoy!
Really appreciate your Ideas...very conscientious!!
That being said I think eventually as the car becomes more modified I'd replace the driver seat with a proper racing bucket haha
no exclusive design tail light?
What was total build cost? (TH-cam “next video” ads blocked my final 15 seconds of screen).
I don't think he showed it, I couldn't see it either
I enjoyed seeing your process for the build. I think the T is my favorite current 911 model. I really like the Titanium Grey accents/wheels. Ive seen some in Lizard Green and it's such a cool color for that car. Otherwise, I would probably go with white. I like Chalk, but I feel like it would clash with the grey accents. Shark Blue is a solid choice though, and I don't think it's super common. 👍
911 is a car for life!! If sold, it means the car doesn't live up to the 911 expectations!!!!
So what is the final price on this thing? I didn’t see it at the end. Also, hopefully you are paying MSRP with your buddy being the GM but can you confirm if you’re paying ADM or not?
I left the price out bc I felt like that wasn’t really the point of the video. It’s right at $150 though.
I’m paying sticker, nothing extra.
Took delivery of a 992 T back in March. Also shark blue. Congrats on the car. You will love it.
Great build. You're going to enjoy it.
Nice spec Will! Does your brother have a YT channel as well? The carrera T interior package should honestly be standard equipment, Porsche knows how to make that money!
Yes…go look him up. Massive channel. Greener Grass
I have a racing yellow with the sunroof, which adds a nice contrast to the roof. Otherwise for my car is was too much yellow.
How many months did you own the 991 before selling?
I think like 5 months maybe.
Excellent choices , car looks great.
Adaptive cruise control is a must on a daily. Lane keeping assistance too.
I’ve done 2100 miles in mine and haven’t found I am missing it.
I was on the same boat as you. Sold my 991.2 C2 last year, made a bit on it. I’m enjoying my M3G80 at the moment and my goal is to find a GT3RS or a TS when the market cools off. Great video🤙
So far great job. I'm up to the moonroof. Great choice.
Just a comment on seats….you didn’t want buckets because of the “bolster.”
I have 2 Porsche models…..a 2017 Macan with 18 ways…..and a 2023 911 with 14 ways.
( didn’t have my 911 allocation yet ! )
The trips were very comfortable ( 5 08-180 ) and I would put them in the Macan again.
This is the beauty of spec’ing our own Porsches…we can all tailor them to be what we want!
Thanks for watching 🙏🏼
@@Rennthusiast100% agree. Heck, I change the specs every time I try to build a car online. I have since watched more of your videos and will say that you do a great job. Your T looks sharp.
@Mario-lj7gm Thank you. You may have caught this one but if not here’s a link: th-cam.com/video/WT0WRK5odp4/w-d-xo.htmlsi=0XbCDmo9GoJn2AeQ
Didn't you put the colored lights I'm sorry but they're beautiful
Will no ventilation for the seats living in NC right? You should have ticked that box. My 23 GTS has it love it!!
Great feature for sure but it deleted the Carrera t striped centers so I had to forego it.
I don’t have vent seats in a couple of others and isn’t too bad.
I don’t know, something about those Exclusive Manufaktur wheels gets me. They are so simple and look good
I saw them in person and actually liked them much better than on the configurator.
What’s his brother’s channel?

Hey thanks for sharing!
Congratulations!
What happened to the "this is why I will only buy air cooled Porsche"?
Over time tastes change. I’m an explorer man. Plus these cars aren’t blisteringly fast like the real turbos.
Keep it up!
Big congrats - burning question - any discount off the Monroney ? Or are we still "held captive" by the most profitable car mfg in the world?
I’m getting the car at sticker. Flow Automotive doesn’t mark up their cars.
Thank you and that is some good news ...then again a few points off would be nice!@@Rennthusiast
I don’t know if we’ll ever see those days of discounting again…
were you able to get a discount from the list price? thanks!
No.
Yikes, a 992 with no PCCB, no awd and not even 400 hp. I wouldn't change it with my 2017 991.2 4S even if they'd put 20k on top.
Maybe start with - got allocation because he is a really good friend.
Can you no longer select manual as an option? I only see the PDK option
Nice colour although I prefer the sunroof in body colour as I feel it doesn't interrupt that classic 911 shape so much. Also I'd be seriously tempted with ppts colours as you can't put a price on rarity. Great wee vid as usual Bud👍
I was dying to do a PTS but just couldn’t do the $13K or so.
@@Rennthusiast understandable you'd have to do without other goodies to keep the bill sane👍
Maybe you can get a glimpse somewhere in this video: m.th-cam.com/video/KyIy4uftgF8/w-d-xo.html
Cool spec, I hope to order a shark blue one but with a tackier interior and carbon roof. Cant decide in smg vs manual but probably got a year before I can reasonably order one.
I love my ‘23 T.
is the pdk that bad? my lock day is coming in couple days. Sunroof and tranmission choices had make me neevous. I am leaning toward pdk on my SB T.
Depends on your intent for the car and driving preference. The philosophy of the T is a driver-focused 911 so manual makes more sense…but like all things Porsche, do what makes you happy, not what others think is good.
Great video! So how long did you wait, or are you still waiting? 🤔 How long does it typically take?
I did my T without options with PDK, will be a Track car only. I will be removing the entire interior to add the cage.
@rennthusiast
Hey Im looking to euro delivery my first ever Porsche next year.
My budget is 150k tops after all fees.
Was there any markup? I hear horror stories about dealer markups
I believe that you selected Back Seats $0? That was to include a back seat! It comes Standard
with no back seats
Solid build
The online configurator is nice to get an idea, but the dealer could have talked you through the order. I guess the drawback is they will obviously be upselling. Being so close to Atlanta as you are I think not choosing Performance Center Delivery is a shame. I get down to the one in LA as much as I can. Nice build and color, I'm sure you'll love it for a few months anyway! If the market stays how it is you can probably drive it for 6 months and sell it at a profit!
I don’t think I’ll sell it for awhile. Such a privilege to own one.
Dude you kinda went all out on the options😂 congratulations
My 2 cents…
Sounds like you and I are on the same page…we both want builds that appeal to us individually.
@@Rennthusiast I guess I got distracted, I thought you were adding rear axel steer too. Good luck, the 992 is amazing.
So how long is the wait time ? And final price ? Great confirmation!
Early November. Right around $150.
Did you recoup the purchase tax on your sale? In some areas, that ends up being pretty significant.
@@Rennthusiast Completely understandable, enjoy it in good health!
I love the sun roof option it will make the car stand out and be nice and airy especially with the dark interior he choose to do.
The front fascia i would have gone with just the front done. Because the standard spec has way too much plastic for me to be happy with it. But the optional back facia is ugly so the standard wins out there.
The T is the best model for money.
It's a great built. There's not much I would have done differently!
lol the color discussion was so strange to me "I don't know if I could roll around every day in rubystar" i mean if you like the color what difference does it make how often you drive the car? just weird logic heh
personally I'd go with plain white (bc white 911's are classic for a reason) or the Gentian Blue
ALSO lol no one needs to justify choosing a PDK . . .ever. JFC I forgot how judge-y porsche people are!
I think ruby star is interesting, it’s bold and it’s fun…but I think once I got past the initial excitement of how unique it is I would be looking for something a little less loud.
Looking forward to this. I am well versed in custom new porsche's.
I will let you know of any advice I have.
That’s crazy
Full leather should be standard. At least on all trims over base
Lol…a very good friend who happens to be a General Manager at Porsche….😂😂😂
Were you able to get it at MSRP or did you have to pay ADM? Dealers in So Cal are currently asking $20k ADM :(
Yes, MSRP.
