Back when my wife ordered her Porsche, it was a 4 or 5 month wait for the build. I ended up buying a used one while we waited. It's been 4 years and we kept both.
That's exactly what I was told, too!!.. That some people just have the itch and don't want to wait, then they end up buying what's on the lot. This is my first purchase. I want to make it a bit more special! Lol, but I have heard the Porsche bite is real, just like a tattoo.. Can't just have one 😆 🤣 I guess you and your wife are proof of it!!

I was hearing from folks that going to the mid west and getting an allocation from them was the best bet for us California folks (then just getting it shipped to CA once it comes in). Apparently they're marking up the MSRP price by 10k+ on most models out here. However, based on those calls seems like they bump you down the allocation list if you're not a local. Perfect timing on your video man, much appreciated! Keep us posted! I might just go to my local Porsche dealership today and just put myself on the list as well.
Now, it seems like the perfect time! It's worth a shot asking around. Figured I wasn't the only one curious about what to expect and what the process of trying to get an allocation was. It answered lots of questions for me. I found myself falling down a rabbit hole of fake talk on youtube, and Google seemed like it was all fillers. But the place I went to has been straightforward and great! I'd recommend reaching out to your local dealer if you're in the hunt. 👍

Hi Jeff... I love what you've done here, this is very helpful even though it may seem so obvious to many, these are the questions that most new 911 buyers want to know the answers on. I'm actually pretty close to Marin Porsche myself and wondering about using either them or Walnut Creek. Did Marin charge you an ADM "dealer markup"? I'm looking at a 911T and am about to put down my deposit.
Ya figured make it as clear as day as possible because even for myself I had no idea what to expect this entire process is new to me. The Marin location has been incredible to me, and no, there was no ADM legit got the car at sticker! Think at the time, the only markups were on GT3 and up but who knows maybe that's over with the way the market is going. I called those locations but something about Marin just felt right.. call all the locations near by and you'll know what feels right

Will folks run into allocation issues for Macan Turbo EVs? I know that platform is more of an entry point into the Porsche brand. Also, they sell a lot more to customers. Love the content!
Supposedly they're limited and people are being pushed out to 25.. but really, who knows??🤷♂️🤷♂️ hard to tell.. all depends on your local dealer. Is it as hard as the 911? I doubt it. But then again, you can get lucky like I did... so each experience is different! I recommend reaching out and going with your gut.. weirdly it worked for me 😅😂

I was a first time buyer in the same area. Walnut Creek Porsche was very good to me during the crazy shortage in 2021/2022 and didn't charge ADM when others were.
Whhatt that's huge!! That's the hardest part, finding a location you feel comfortable at and you dont get that weird gross feeling being there. The ADM has been a joke everywhere. Them not tacking it on speaks volumes. Which model did you go with?

Ya I actually reached out to them too! They didn't have any slots.. and according to the sales rep, they were adding the ADM.... It was legit opening day. Looks like a nice location tho.

Useful info! Just in case you didn’t know, it’s illegal in CA to record someone without their consent. You probably just edited that part out of the video but wanted to make sure you knew as that’s not the case in other states. It’s called “Two party consent”.

They'll always be something new coming out.. and once you get the spec you want that is new then a year later it will be old again... it's that constant cycle, lol.. I'm just happy mine is the last year before going hybrid

It's funny knowing that you were talking with the porsche lady that initially handed you the keys only two months later. Congrats again!
It's probably cause I'm new to this whole youtube thing and I'm a random dude lol. Guy it's been nuts!! The whole process has felt like a blur, got the allocation in 2 days and boom 2 months later it's here. My allocation didn't follow the traditional route. It required a combination of timing and luck to make it all work. Case in point, I was able to obtain an allocation because the original buyer pulled out. I had two additional buyers ahead of me who declined the allocation, and it all came together. I'm currently sitting on a mid-November delivery date.
If I'm being honest, it's like a cult. You have to jump through hoops the first go-round. After you're in, the purchase process gets easier.
Man I don't know.. I got really lucky! I put in the order on sat got a comm number and by Tuesday I got a call and email that porsche accepted my build and I got an allocation. It's pretty wild. This is my first ever purchase with them too! My last car was a Nissan altima! 🤣🤣 now in your case, are you stuck with the build of the pervious person that put in their order or are you able to make adjustments on what you want? What did you end up ordering?

@@jeffcamara I went with GT silver. Same as my 2019 Carrera T. Just love that color. Also did the burgundy interior. Mine is a coup. You’re right though. Things add up quick.

Nice! I cant wait. The saying, is good to know people in high places is true. Unfortunately the Porsche dealer I was loyal too ( 4 previous Porsche leases ) didnt want to help. Called a couple friends of mine and they put me through another dealer and straight to the general manager who gave me the next allocation. Truly a mission, would have never thought the dealer I was loyal to would do that to me but, hey January it should be arriving and I’m static. Congrats 🎉🍾 on your gts brother, enjoy it.

I have wanted to hit the track but am not willing to put the Porsche in such harsh condition. However, I am waiting for my BMW M2 to come in. I will be tracking that car and use it as a daily driver. Maybe I'll bring the Porsche one day to some light tracking just to have that experience and see the difference.

Just saw ur video. My recommendation is if you have not ordered the GTS yet go for the Turbo S. it is the ultimate car no doubt.
I own a Carrera 4s a Cayman S a GST Boxter and my first Porsche a 1998 Boxter which I still have they all run meticulously well . I wanted to buy a GTS 4 . And the salesman talked out of it. My Turbo S is also your choice of colour Agate Gray with lots of options. I was on a waiting list but one of the customers whom was ahead of me had health problems so I got his spot. The Turbo should be arriving in two weeks. I cannot wait. Everyone I spoke with indicated that it is a night and day of a difference between the Turbo and the GTS . Would love to see a pic of your car if you did get it. Good luck.
Sadly, the turbo s is out of my price range.. maybe one day! 🤞🤞 but I did go with the GTS. I myself can't wait to see it, lol. As soon as I get it, I'll post some pictures in the community tab. I have a 992 Turbo S is in the port in Benicia waiting to make its way to the dealer, helpfully tomorrow if on schedule. I was lucky in that I got an allocation right away, but ended up waiting an extra month get a 24 to get to get the options I wanted. Same for my 21 Taycan Turbo S from them after wasting 9mo with the new local dealer in my town.

Keep in mind until its V200 in their system, there is no guarantee of an allocation. I was a first time Porsche buyer and I got an allocation for a GT3 so I’ve been told a lot that lead to lies from the dealers. GL to you sir!
Ah, the delivery date is the biggest giveaway of actually obtaining the allocation/build? This is all so new to me, so I'm learning as I go.. figured I'd share a bit in case there's someone searching just as I have been. Did you end up getting your GT3??
@@jeffcamara The delivery date is determined after confirmation, which is when Porsche flips the status to V200 in the system. Otherwise the only guarantee you have is that the dealer is holding your deposit and you may never see the car, regardless of what you may have in writing from the dealership. If you have to keep calling and asking why you’re always stuck at #4 on the list, thats a indication you are getting bumped for a VIP customer or for someone else who is willing to pay more ADM. I’ve seen the ADM as high as $250k on top of MSRP so keep that in mind when you budget.
Every dealer has a VIP status that gives one a particular status within the dealership. For example, the Porsche dealership I’m at, spending $180k/per year gets you on a VIP list that bumps you higher than anyone else on the waiting list, regardless of how long some one on that list may have been waiting, how much deposit they put down or purchase history. It’s really about how much you are spending at your local Porsche dealership, how much you drive, how often you’re at the service center, etc. Most dealerships will tell you 12-18 months, but it could be longer depending on how much the dealership you are at is willing to give everyone a fair chance and ultimately how many cars they get.
I did land my allocation for a GT3 after 10 years of trying. I called all ~200 Porsche dealerships in the USA until someone was willing to shoot straight with me and give me an actual chance. I decided to go with a smaller Porsche dealership since they technically should have less competing VIP’s. Porsche rewards the dealers that sell more cars with more allocations, so the larger dealerships have the highest chances but more competition and more likely, more VIP’s.
Once production starts, be sure to look at for photos from Porsche. My GT3 had 3-4 pictures at various stages of the build when it was at the Porsche factory in Stuttgart.

The dealership I've been working with has been really straight with me and has been really smooth and transparent from the start. So far, it's been smooth sailing! I'll keep you posted on the progress. So you're saying on "my porsche" they actually show you pictures as it's being built?? That's pretty awesome! Even if it's fake, I'd still get excited 🤣 ... ya talking on the phone, I guess being local helps because a lot of people do reach out to many porsche dealers out of state trying to get an allocation.

Agate Gray is gone for 2024. PTS is significantly difficult to get for lower trims

Go and look at the colors in person, artic grey is the new grey color, I had / have 2 in chalk. Bought all 3 of mine porsche , 911c2s, cayman gts, 718 sypder all slightly used with low miles. They new gts has a option for a wing on the back, I saw a 2023, one in artic grey, was very goid looking and I thought it was a GT3 !
I tried to spec mine with a wing and it wasn't am option 👎.. maybe US market has different options?? I went with agate gray for my configuration.. I just fell in love with it! Ooo that chalk is gorgeous though! What are you driving now?

I think the gts with wing is called the airo package option.

It's hard to come by. The events are like the cars and coffee events and it's a great time regardless if you're looking or not.
@@jeffcamara Just being civil is normal. Creating a Relationship, attending events, visiting, etc is not simply being civil. I also trust no salesman on earth. It's their job to befriend you and create the illusion of a relationship in order to do one thing, get your money.
Going to the cars and coffee is more for my interest cause I enjoy going to them lol. Man I understand that. Always feel like you're gonna leave there being robbed but this experience was completely different.. the only thing I paid for were the extras I added to the car during configuration. If they try to sell you anything extra you can just say no. I legit went there with my configuration and got the allocation 2 days later with no history with the dealer or even with Porsche. Legit best experience I've ever had.. I was nervous going in cause it's the first major purchase and it was easier than getting a Nissan or a Toyota lol wild
