Journey has such amazing chemistry. The instrumentation, vocals, and lyrics of so many of their songs are proof of this. Personally, Only the Young stands out because of a segment from Behind the Music. The mother of a young fan who was losing his battle with a terminal illness wrote them a letter. I believe this is a live/studio remix for the official MTV video. Their live in Houston concert from this era is the real deal though and I've seen other reactors do songs from that concert. You should have heard them live when they were in their prime. His voice was beautiful, better than studio!!! Even his band members would look at him in amazement.
Actually, this particular video is NOT a live performance. They used live video footage but the recording is the original studio version. They just synced the video up with the recording. Having said that, Perry could EASILY pull this off live flawlessly. The man is the greatest male vocalist to ever grace this planet; that's just fact.
There's a clip of the live version of this performance out there. And it sounds just as good. Even better in some ways, because as usually, Steve does some playing with it.
You both need to react to some of their older hits from a time when Steve Perry and Gregg Rolie shared lead vocal duties. Their harmonies were legendary.
Vocals that will blow you away from him is Jessie Rides live. He did this while he had the flu and is better than anything anyone can produce in the studio. The song is beautiful too.
I absolutely love this song!!! Steve has voice that brings you to tears! His voice is magical and just gives me chills! Stone In Love, is amazing too!!

Love that one!
I saw Journey live 4 times in the 80's & I can verify Steve Perry & the whole band sounded amazing each time.
Yes Jay, you should introduce Amber to "Wheel in the Sky".
Also "Mother Father" (live in Houston 1981) really showcases Steve's vocal range.
"Lights" (official video), "Any way you want it", "Patiently" (Midnight Special" are a few of my favorites.
If you want a more rocker song than "Stone in Love" is a great one.
There are so many great Journey songs you haven't checked out yet so keep them coming!
One of the best voices in the music industry 🙌 👌 👏 ❤️ 🤧
Wheel in the sky, girl can’t help it, lights, any way you want it, be good to yourself.
Nice to see the youngins appreciate our music 🎵🎶😊👍👍👍👍👍
You should have heard them live when they were in their prime. His voice was beautiful, better than studio!!! Even his band members would look at him in amazement.
I love to see the shots of the audience just locked in a gaze at Steve. He just had everyone in that audience in the palm of his hand.
Any Way You Want It or Stone in Love are both BANGERS
I love watching you two discover new music. If you love Perry that much, try his two big solo songs from '84. "Oh, Sherrie" and "Foolish Heart".
Also, I Stand Alone. Love that one!
"Mother. Father" from Journey will mesmerize Rob!
"Send Her My Love" and "Lights" are my favorite Journey songs. 🥰 Thanks for making us smile.
@@ruthlafler5622 That was the awesome thing about Journey; particularly Steve. It was always JUST as good if not BETTER live than the recording.
Journey always gives me goose bumps.
Only with Steve
@@trb2021 exactly!!
You both need to react to some of their older hits from a time when Steve Perry and Gregg Rolie shared lead vocal duties. Their harmonies were legendary.
More Journey please!! Mother, Father, Only the Young (you'll like this one Jay)
"Mother Father - Live in Houston 1981" is an absolute MUST! And for a banger, "Stone in Love" also from the "Live in Houston - 1981"
If you want to really hear how powerful his voice is listen to "why can't this night go on forever "
Awesome. Other Journey musts: Girl Can't Help It, Only the Young, Stone in Love, Ask The Lonely, Feelin' That Way/Anytime, Just The Same Way. All 🔥🎶
Jay would LOVE “Edge of the Blade.” Wasn’t a single but it’s dark and heavy by Journey’s standards
"Any Way You Want It" is a hype Journey song. "Lovin, Touchin, Squeezin" is a nice bluesy roller.
Vocals that will blow you away from him is Jessie Rides live. He did this while he had the flu and is better than anything anyone can produce in the studio. The song is beautiful too.
the song is called "still they ride" But yes it's a great song.
@@jcbass2u oops yes you are right..my bad.
This whole album is amazing, and this song grabs you and touches your soul. Such an incredible assemblage of musicians we were blessed to experience.
Love Journey, but Steve Perry is one of the best if not the best voices of our era...his voice makes me cry everytime...
“ Be good to yourself “, “ Stone in Love”, “Anyway you want it”, "Escape", "Frontiers". All on the rocking side of Journey.
Journey was my first concert and Steve's voice dropped me on my behind... What an amazing talent
I absolutely love this song!!! Steve has voice that brings you to tears! His voice is magical and just gives me chills! Stone In Love, is amazing too!!
Like others have mentioned "Stone In Love" is a great one 🔥🔥🔥👍👍👍
I got to see Journey back in 1976. It was the "Infinity" tour. They were showcasing their new lead singer-Steve Perry. It was a great concert, the opening act was Montrose and their lead singer was Sammy Hagar , maybe you've heard of him.
Steve Perry’s voice is magical. Just pure talent
A voice for the ages iconic beautiful this song Ray I send u my love 💕
