The way this beautiful woman reacted to this song is an illustration of why there are lot of people alive in this world today thanks to Steve Perry singing.....
This video, although it shows a live performance, is overdubbed with the studio track. Not that I'm taking ANYTHING away from Steve's abilities, but this isn't a live audio recording.
I heard Journey and Steve Perry live in Greensboro North Carolina on the raised on radio tour. And the original commentator is correct: he does sound this good live. It was amazing.
In the 80's, music was about partying hard, having fun, and being cool with each other....In the 90's, everyone got pi**ed off, and music has been on a down-slide every since.
I've never heard that stated so succinctly. I couldn't agree more. I'm in 80's kid, and I still love that era more than almost anything. I can't remember anything from the 90's because I was still listening to 80's and classic rock. Once Nirvana came around (they're great, but...) I started to tune out completely. But you're right. All of the sudden it was all angst, anger, discord, centered around mediocre, unimpressive music.
Girlfriend!!!!!! Your reaction when Steve started singing. Is the way I react every single time, after all these years!!! There's so much Classic Journey, that you really should listen to!!
"It's her voice that keeps on haunting me" has got to be one of the most heartwrenching lines ever written. All of the band members shined on this song, but Neil made his guitar cry making it an even sadder song. Great reaction Liz! This video exemplifies just how huge Journey had become by this time as they were playing in football stadiums in front of tens of thousands of people a night.
@@lizziethegangsterhippie9291 Journey's rabbit hole is deep! From the obvious ballads like Open Arms, Faithfully, and When You Love A Woman to lesser-known gems like Suzanne, The Eyes Of A Woman, Why Can't This Night Go On Forever, and Still She Cries, Journey connects with so many people through their music. Steve Perry has an awesome solo ballad called Foolish Heart that is a beautiful song. When you're ready, Toto also has a deep library of songs: ballads, rockers, and even a nice instrumental with Jazz legend Miles Davis! Keep up the great reactions Lizzie! ❄⛷🏂😎

It’s so refreshing and wonderful to see a younger person like yourself be so moved and appreciate this amazing music. The best way to describe Steve Perry’s voice is otherworldly. You cannot get more ethereal or atmospheric of a song than this. I am so wonderfully touched by how emotional you got with this song. This song speaks to the furthest reaches of your heart and your soul. They don’t make them like this anymore. God bless you young lady.
Grew up during the70's and 80's and there were so many great bands. Journey was pretty much at the top of my list along with Boston and the Electric Light Orchestra. Those band's music never gets old and will live on for many generations to come while most of the rubish today that is called music will be long forgotten.

My favorite Journey track ever! The entire band’s virtuosity is showcased here! Deep track, about a deep subject. I came from a broken home, and this song got me through some tough times! “Have faith, believe!”
One of their best songs. If you haven’t had a chance, check out Mother, Father, Sister, Brother from the 1981 Live in Houston concert. It is phenomenal.
Amazing reaction, Lizzie. I agree with you a 100 on the passion in Steve Perry's voice. Man, is smooth AF. I could listen to him sing rock ballads all night 🔥

To add to your Journey information. There is a TH-cam video of Steve Perry just joining the group. The founding members Neil Schon, on guitar, and Gregg Rolie on the keyboards. Both alumni from Santana and Woodstock days. Schon was 17 that summer! There is a live show called The Midnight Special back on April 28, 1978, you need to see. Wheel in the sky is the song, and at a little after 2:20 in, listen to him do this high-range background vocal behind an endless Guitar solo .It’s unbelievable, and if you don’t believe it he does it again in the Journey official 1978 version.
