A lot of people unfortunately return to drug use. I think a lot of people consider that they can be an occasional user, like they will just do some because it is a weekend. It doesn’t work.

Once an individual has reached a level of true addiction with any substance then using said substance in the future can never be recreational again. I've tried every way I could think of in an attempt to occasionally use my substance of choice... Never works, ever.

Hi Brian, it was great to see this new video for the week.
I follow a Health Care Physician and also a Natural Health Doctor by the name of Dr. Livingood. He mentioned he was so frustrated with the Medical field in that they want to address a patients symptoms with Medicine but not drill down deep enough to find the cause of why they are suffering from it in the first place.
I think this is so true in your journey of drug addiction as well. It is great that you have found the true cause of why drugs were appealing to you and addressed that to heal, instead of just healing it temporally with a bandaid and relapsing in the future.
Best wishes to you over the next 3 months and beyond.

I came across your channel by accident, ive watched some of your videos, i think they way you articulate and express what happened during detox, is very informative, my younger brother, was addicted to heroin, for over 20yrs, he robbed all of us, we paid for him to go private to detox, he came out and went straight back, he was in and out of prison for year's, he would look so well when he came home, after a week, the sign's were back, he decided himself to detox, he was prescribed, methadone, he smoked a little devil's lettuce and did it, boy was it hard just watching him go through it, nevermind, what he was feeling, eventually he got clean, stopped the methadone, stopped the devil's lettuce, it was joyous, to get my little brother back, unfortunately, he died 2 and a half years later in his sleep, totally devastated all the family, the coroner said his liver was so fatty that he wouldn't have lived much longer, plus it would have been a very painful death, he had a seizure in his sleep and just never woke up, that was 12 years ago, we miss him everyday, we got the brother we loved back, but only for a short time, good luck with your recovery, all the best from the UK.

Awesome video, Brian! In my opinion, house arrest doesn't necessarily keep someone off drugs. While house arrest may limit an offender's ability to obtain and use illegal drugs, it doesn't automatically prevent drug use. While it definitely is way more comfortable than jail, It's ironic that you have to pay to be on house arrest. Blessings to you on your recovery! You bring hope to so many. Looking forward to watching more of your videos!👋❤

Don't do it. If you want a healthy sobriety, putting up such pictures serves no positive outcome.

@@melodymacken9788 I get where you're coming from, but I disagree. As long as he is comfortable doing so, the benefits of that sharing that outweigh negatives. Vulnerability is tremendously powerful. If it helps inspire others to get clean, that itself is a positive outcome, and we all know that helping others get sober is an integral part of sobriety. Seeing clear evidence of where someone was at their lowest versus where they are now - that transformation - is enormously inspirational. A before and after photo can literally be the difference between sobriety and hopelessness for someone who doesn't believe they can bounce back from their lowest lows. Hearing someone say "I lost 250lbs" doesn't necessarily have the same impact on a listener as seeing what they looked like before and after. If he can go from THAT to THIS, well, I have no excuse and can do the same...

You have made yourself strong through forced lonliness..when you are so sociable. I believe you will not go back, because you have made yourself so strong, and I have faith this world will let you experience good things being your best self. Iost it all.. handsome fiancé.. beautiful apartment.. great job.. new car.. all I would think about is satisfying that craving.. and even when I did lose it all.. I kept going because something inside of me was broken.. it needed to be fixed.. I didn’t even have that a-ha moment until I had my stroke..fortunately I made it through and I am still here. Tomorrow isn’t promised.. I have to live my life without drugs.. sometimes it’s hard.. but ya know what.. we have this amazing 2nd chance… most addicts don’t even get that. Addiction should be treated..not punished. ❤

Good morning, I sure hope you are not so excited about drugs that it would be an irresistable temptation once you are off house arrest and mandatory drug testing.I presume they are or will do random tests when you are on Probabtion off house arrest. I think you will be able to stay off of drugs. You will not want anymore consequences in the future. Im so excited about you being able to get out and about. My aunt is a Heroin addict and is 65, she has overdosed a few times. I once gave her narcan when she was found lying on the floor pale and sweaty and guppy breathing. I sat with her and monitored her for that entire day once she regained life. That day she was all about going on suboxone and refilling her narcan which was then depleted. She said she would, and then she didn't want to because the doctor would know??? Then she got resentful toward me for reminding her and offering to help her.

If everyone in your life had cut ties, friends, family, everyone. How would you deal with that sober?
For me, the lack of love and understanding I received, just pushed me further and further down. I was blamed for it, even though my parents were verbally abusive and neglectful. It makes my chest hurt so much that I cannot bear it for another second at times. All I needed was love, and undivided support. I’m still struggling with the pain.

      Hey Kirsten,
This is a great question! I am so glad that you brought this up. I think I will do a video dedicated to your question this upcoming week ❤️❤️
For now, my short answer is… sometimes people won’t let go of the past, and that’s ok. That is their right. But you also have the right to forgive yourself and go out and find new people who can love you for who you are today. You deserve to surround yourself with people who aren’t hanging on to who you used to be, when you are not that person anymore, when you have done so much work to become the beautiful person you are today! You know what I mean? ❤️❤️❤️ thank you for the great video idea 😉

Former IV addict and nurse here. Still a nurse. I think there are different levels of addiction but some don't agree. I never went to jail or got caught at all, thank God. I was always too scared to do many things for fear of losing my license. I stayed on Suboxone for 10 years due to being a wimp lol. That being said, I can see you have a very bad case. I fear you will pick up again as long as you romanticize doing the drugs. Once I no longer felt that way, I knew I was much better off. Also, what will you do for money moving forward? Things are expensive and I can't fathom getting out of nursing though many times I have wanted to. Thankfully I found an office position I can handle. If push comes to shove, I recommend long term opiate replacement. If you relapse, you could die fast with Fentanyl. Good luck and stay sober :edit. Kratom isn't that strong, I take it daily for pain. Never has it made me want to pick up again. You must have been using the extracts. I don't like those, they make me sick.
