  • Motor1 Senior Editor Jake Holmes takes a Cadillac ATS-V for a spin to find out if it can really hang with the heavy-hitting German mainstays of the compact luxury segment.
    For more Cadillac ATS-V: www.motor1.com/cadillac/ats-v/
    As-tested price: $77,085
The small sports-sedan segment follows a pretty well-worn formula: take your entry-luxury car and add a whole bunch more power, grip, and chassis capability. For decades, BMW and Mercedes have owned that class, but for the past few years there’s been a challenger from the U.S. The Cadillac ATS-V, like the larger and more powerful CTS-V, is an all-American take on the sports-sedan model.
Cadillac comes to the table with a strong biturbocharged V6, Magnetic Ride Control suspension, Brembo brakes, Recaro seats, and functional aerodynamics that stick the car to the road even at 189 miles per hour. See how that all works out in the real world as we put the ATS-V through our Why Buy? treatment.
    SPECIFICATIONS:
    Engine: 3.6-Liter Biturbocharged V6
    Output: 464 Horsepower / 445 Pound-Feet
    Transmission: 6-Speed Manual
    EPA Fuel Economy: 16 City / 23 Highway / 19 Combined

This video helped me decide. I purchased a 2018 ATS-V last month. I absolutely love it. In the right hands ,I truly believe it will out perform my 16 ZO6. .
The only thing I don't like about it, is the Recaro seats . They are so uncomfortable, just a bit to much racey ,for a Cadillac, even if it is a V series.

Why do you guys always whine about CUE? While whining you futilely swipe at the volume slider. I understand your frustration. Here’s an idea… try looking at the steering wheel. Try the owners manual. Try being fair. There is a volume control by your right thumb.

The thing I don't like about these reviews , is that the testers have driven everything from the most expensive , to the cheapest . To a person like me , their opinion can become biased , complaints meaningless . I've only ever driven budget friendly cars . So I don't mind buying a base model Cadillac ATS and won't have any complaints . I've never driven a BMW or Mercedes .

Jake Holmes wrong. Biturbo and twin turbo are different. One is two equal size turbos that work at the same time. The other is one small turbo on larger turbo, good for low end torque and high end power.
