      kano b In fact it's so hideous that it outright pisses me off.
      I WANT an m4 competitor to sway me away from the m4 cus i think for the performance u get, it's an overpriced vehicle. Especially when competitors can out perform it. However the m4 with mods is one of the most gorgeous vehicles ive ever seen in my life and it immediately makes me forgive all its mistakes.
      I would pick the m4 over the c63 & ctv cus its so customizable. With the body kits different exhausts already available to it.. how easy you can tune em to 500hp+ with dinan and how familiar it would all be to me cus i drive a 335i coupe atm.

    For the no lift shift you mentioned you don't have to basically use the clutch. I thought it worked by not having to release the throttle. So you would clutch in, but never bring your foot off the gas. It would basically hold the rev at what ever point you clutch in, and as soon as the clutch re engages you would continue accelerating. Am I wrong?

    Do you guys not understand how similar cars are manufactured nowadays? Sure back until 15ish years ago there was more of a difference but for a mountain of reasons the build quality of American vs European vs Asian cars are all relatively similar.

    • @ZomKP
      @ZomKP 8 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Exactly, plus I would drive the ATS-V because the repair costs for the BMWs are absurd and don't want to be that douchebag in the BMW...

    • @mattkay7334
      @mattkay7334 8 ปีที่แล้ว

      +Kyle Pinet seriously, the amount you pay for German cars it too high, and then after you buy the car, the expense is astronomical. Parker literally just made a video about is BMW breaking. I understand it is 15 years old, but I have a spare 2001 Saturn that I use for dirty work and it has no issues, and never gets anything besides regular matience.

    • @ossimjew
      @ossimjew 8 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Coming from a cadillac owner repairs are only cheaper if you buy used parts. The battery in my cadillac alone is $280 over $100 for an oil change. Don't get the cadillac if you re expecting it to be cheaper to maintain they aren't, get a cadillac if you want an all around better car than the germans.

      Japanese cars still have a ways to go as far as build quality is concerned. Sure theres a few gems in the bunch, but it's still haunted by plastics galore. When you pay 100k for a GTR and the interior looks like someone from Fisherprice designed it, it's shows the lack of judicious creativity.

    • @ossimjew

    2:15 - 2:20 As far as I know *flat shift* happens when you *WOT shift which cuts out ignition* right when you engage the clutch and shift without *lifting throttle* and allows ignition right when you let the clutch back out allowing you to keep your throttle input. I think you explained *clutchless shifting like the operation in a dog box or sequential box*

    When I did some benchmarking stuff on this at work I spent 15 mins poking at body panels and trim pieces and laughing before I actually drove it. If you grab the door handles you can move them up and down and they squeak terribly! They shouldn't even move that direction. And if you squeeze them really hard it makes a noise like it's going to crack. Then the chrome trim pieces on the outside are super flimsy, there was a ton of deflection. And if you pushed too hard it made a permanent bubble which was extremely noticeable. More than likely they finally realized what it takes to build a good car and then had to cut costs elsewhere to keep it competitive. I also noticed the seat adjustment slot was too small for a watch. And the door handle by the arm rest is at a horrible angle you have to bend your wrist at a 45 towards the floor to grab it. However after harping on this thing way to much it is a great drivers car. And it was actually comfortable on some of the worst Detroit roads.

    Better than a BMW in both exterior & interior. I have no idea what people mean when they say the 3 series is luxurious; it isn't by a long margin; too many buttons & hard plastics. At least Cadillac covered up the entire dash with leather & the touchscreen CUE doesn't feel like a "stuck-on-Ipad" as if it was an afterthought.

    I don't know why some people bash the 'Cue' system so badly. I just purchased a brand new ATS-V with the 8 speed auto and love it. I guess it's whatever you get used to but I've had absolutely no problems using 'Cue'. But he's right, you DO have to take your watch off to access the seat controls but that's more of an annoyance than a problem. And the auto being slow to shift? Compared to what - a Lambo? It's the exact same tranny that's in the Corvette, and you don't hear many complaints about that. Besides, it's faster than the stick and silky smooth!
    I looked at the M3/4's, the C63, and the 'S' Audi's prior to purchasing the Caddy and for the price point you can't beat it. AND it's fast! AND it's American made!
    I had a young kid jump on me the other day in a new Mustang GT and the Caddy spanked his young ass. Needless to say he wasn't happy that 'grandpaw' in a Caddy tore him a new one.
    Considering I negotiated $11k off the MSRP including the $3k factory rebate and zero percent financing from GM, which saved another $5k + in interest alone, I'm very happy with this purchase. Try and get THAT kind of deal on a German made car!

    You just wait until the Alfa Romeo Guilia Quadrifogilo comes out. As much as I like the ATS-V, gauge cluster is a huge let down compared the Guilia. Also the Power on the Guilia is ahead of the ATS-V, especially for a TTV6. That would make it a real competitor.
    BTW, I am a huge CTS-V fan and the ATS-V looks great, but needs more to entice my interest in it. I will just go for the CTS-V instead.

      It's on the same Alpha platform as the CTS-V, using the same chassis, the CTS-V is just lengthened a bit. Nether of them are 5-doors.

    does GM have DCT? the DCT is a must have for any non-manual 'sports' car

      Modern auto transmission are about as fast as DCT's, have way fewer parts and will be more reliable.

      GM's 8 speed auto shift faster than Porsche's PDK. If you still have a problem with it then you're just biased.

    I would say it looks better than the current generation M3 But the twin turbo V8 of the C63 is something hard to match! Thou the ATS-V looks the most aggressive compared to the rest of the bunch!
