ಬಾಯಲ್ಲಿ ನೀರೂರುತ್ತಿದೆ , ತುಂಬಾ ಒಳ್ಳೆಯ ತಿನಿಸು, ದೇವರು ನಿಮಗೆ ಸುಖ-ಶಾಂತಿ ನೆಮ್ಮದಿ ನೀಡಲಿ . ಮಲೆನಾಡು ಮತ್ತು ಕರಾವಳಿಯ ಜೀವನ ಬಹು ಸುಂದರ, ನಮ್ಮ ಚಿತ್ರದುರ್ಗದ ಬಹಳ ತಾಲ್ಲೂಕುಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಬರಗಾಲ ಜಾಸ್ತಿ, ಜಾಲಿಗಿಡಗಳು ಬೆಳೆಯುತ್ತವೆ. ನಮಗೆ ನಿಮ್ಮ ಹಳ್ಳಿ ಪರಿಸರ ಅವೆಲ್ಲಾ ನೋಡಿದಾಗ ನಾವೂ ಸಹ ಅಂತಹ ಪರಿಸರವನ್ನು ಮಿಸ್‌ ಮಾಡಿಕೊಳ್ಳುತ್ತಿದ್ದೇವೆ ಎನಿಸುತ್ತದೆ. ನನಗೆ ಮರಗಳೆಂದರೆ ತುಂಬಾ ಇಷ್ಟ, ನಾನು ನಮ್ಮ ಬೀದಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ಚಿಕ್ಕವನಿದ್ದಾಗ ಸಾಲು ಮರಗಳನ್ನು ನೆಟ್ಟು ಅವನ್ನು ಒಂದು ಹಂತಕ್ಕೆ ಎತ್ತರ ಬೆಳೆಯುವವರೆಗೂ ಕಾದೆ ಆದರೆ ಬಹಳ ಮಂದಿಗೆ ಈ ಕಾರ್ಯ ಹಿಡಿಸಲಿಲ್ಲ, ನಮ್ಮ ಮನೆಯ ಮುಂದೆ ಮರಗಳನ್ನೇಕೆ ಹಾಕುತ್ತೀ, ಎಂದು ಬೆಳೆದ ಮರಗಳನ್ನು ಕಡಿದರು. ರಸ್ತೆ ಬಂದಾಗ ನನ್ನ ಮನೆಯ ಮುಂದಿನ ಮರವನ್ನೂ ಜೆ ಸಿ ಬಿ ಯಿಂದ ಕಿತ್ತೊಗೆದರು, ಮನಸ್ಸಿಗೆ ತುಂಬಾ ಘಾಸಿಯಾಯಿತು.
