I was there in that crowd, so lucky to have had this wonderful experience. This performance of Empty Sky was one of the big moments that sticks with me, along with the 2 he did on piano including the hilarious bit in Spirit In The Night where Bruce had a rare brain fart and forgot the words. Couldn’t think of any other artist that could have navigated that with such good humour and grace, made the audience really feel special like we were in a unique intimate show or something (as opposed the huge Palau St Jordi stadium where we actually were). Unforgettable night ❤❤❤
I’ll effectively guarantee that you’ll thank me later if you watch this one: *Bruce Springsteen - Real World* _Channel: Andrea Colombo_ My 3-year-old comment below and it’s *no coincidence* that my (public 226 songs ATM) *1990s favorites* playlist has this song (rendition) in question as no. 1, thus said playlist showing its thumbnail. _My comment on it: How I wished he performed it like this when I heard him in concert like a decade ago. Hauntingly beautiful is the best description I can come up with._ Me learning the (acoustic) guitar, like Bruce, I blame Elvis for that one, and I blame Bruce for me learning the harmonica, and if I ever get into the piano as well, I'd blame this rendition alongside GNR's November Rain.

I know I will NEVER forget 9/11! I’m currently 70ish, and living in the northern NJ suburbs, watched the entire event live on TV. When I used to work on Wall Street in lower Manhattan, I had to walk through the Twin Towers every day, and also had friends still working in there as commodity traders/specialists on the COMEX exchange located in one of them. Unfortunately 😥 not all made it out safely during the 🛩️ 🆘 🚑 🚧 terrorist attack.

🤔 IDK why there aren’t more comments, views, AND recent ones on THIS 💖 song?! The entire concert was great imh 70ish y.o. opinion, and SO many other 👍 relatively ‘unknowns’ too by Bruce - at least not that I’ve ever heard. I will admit that I didn’t listen to, or appreciate, Bruce much when I was younger (with the exceptions of ‘Dancing in the Dark’ + ‘I’m on Fire’), but DO NOW! * I began re-listening AFTER seeing him live in a Coldplay concert a couple +/- yrs ago, when he appeared as a ‘surprise’ guest at the finale. He and Chris Martin did a 👏 duet together of BOTH 2 songs I mentioned, and in spite of his aging, he WAS on 🔥 - sounding and looking as great as ever imho!

@@JoachimMoellerJust got home from traveling for almost 2 months and saw your comment today. Better late than never - lol! But I will check it out when I get some time. PS: I was a trained classical pianist 🎹 and organist since I was 5 and know what you mean about being influenced by others (or blaming them) with trying to incorporate their styles into your own. Also, November Rain is one of my fav GNR songs too.
