This is just an absolutely amazing performance of a criminally underrated song. The crowd feeds off Bruce's passion and the result is a performance that is truly moving. Wow.
at every concert i've been too there's an almost physical connection between bruce, the band and the crowd....thats what making bruce such a fantastic live performer :)
100% agree. I think that this song being on the album it was it didn't get the attention it should have. The rising, being an album about coming together and alone or in groups beginning a process of finding a salve for the hurt and loss of 9/11, it was under-appreciated. Great observation form the OP here.
It absolutely is. This was his first tour I saw... I was 13. My dad is a massive fan. People called this "the bathroom song" because everyone would go to the bathroom during this bit. They were fools. This was one of the best parts. People were not feeling the cultural empathy in 02, though.
@@courtbahh It's generally his fans from the East Coast that are like that. They're simply spoiled. They see him +10 times per tour & take him for granted....
Springsteen is a musical genius. He is one of the few artists who genuinely can tap into a whole range of emotions and take you with him. Joy, sadness, thoughtfull, uplifting, or just damn good rock n roll. His music has in turns made me feel happy and dancing, reflective in missing close friends and family, angry at intolerance and prejudice, appreciative of great musical talent. Can't really think of many/any others who have such a range (maybe Bowie, U2, Dylan are the nearest contenders). Incredible
From the first time I heard the Rising album, I thought this was one of the best on a fucking masterpiece of an album. Let the living let us in, before the dead us apart.
Iona McClements I spend my whole year saying this is my favorite song, but then I listen to other song and it changes... you can’t really decide with this man. Amazing
I would never call it a favourite, but it's definitely underated. The meshing together of western rock, with eastern music compliments the lyrics perfectly.
@@roybollo6659 such a difficult one!! I have so many!!! It depends on what mood I'm in as well but 'Brothers under the bridge" or "murder incorporated" are my go tos
An absolutely unbelievable song. It's been 30 years for me being part of Music's biggest underground movement. Springsteen fans. He is criminally under the radar but sell out stadiums around the World.
I've loved Bruce Springsteen since the first time I ever heard him sing. I am amazed that this song has so little attention. Of all of his incredible songs, this is my favorite.
When my flatmate brought home 'The Rising' album, I just about wore this song out. I listened to this and 'The Fuse' most of all. Great to hear them again. The Boss really got in his zone with this one! 💥
Yes, my favourite song from the boss too. I guess it only touches the sensitive ones, here in this performance is everything to find, if only your are ready to receive it. Pure bliss.... Thank you again from Slovenia!
It was about fecking time this version got re-uploaded to youtube! Absolutely fantastic song and performance, intense and powerful. One of my favourites among Bruce's "recent" stuff.
Sometimes the truth just ain't enough Or is it too much in times like this Let's throw the truth away, we'll find it in this kiss In your skin upon my skin in the beating of our hearts May the living let us in before the dead tear us apart
He’s absolutely amazing and beautiful in this performance it just is so powerful and leaves me in awe of there talent as a group the best band I’ve ever seen
This is Indian Hindustani classical music, and the original is performed by Qawwali singers. Here, it's blended with Irish music, but either way there is really no Moroccan sound here.
Absolutely great performance. Good to see Little Steven back again. Praying for peace and brotherhood. One of the most emotional songs I ever listened to. Still makes me weep.
Loved this song from the First time on i‘d heard it! And OMG what a group of awesome musicians these people are! So many more than just BS and he knows it!
This is just an absolutely amazing performance of a criminally underrated song. The crowd feeds off Bruce's passion and the result is a performance that is truly moving. Wow.
You're so right about this song being criminally underrated, in reality it should have stood out as the centerpiece of this masterful record.

And the lyrics are just fantastic
It could have prevented the madmen to kill innocents in the Middle East
Damn, that dueling guitar solo at the end sounds like a hurricane! Wish this song got more exposure, it's criminally underrated.
yessss agree with you nikolasM.

Very well put , my friend 👍
A most poignant, touching, and beautifully haunting song...a true masterpiece. This here is one reason why he's called The Boss.
From the first time I heard the Rising album, I thought this was one of the best on a fucking masterpiece of an album.
Let the living let us in, before the dead us apart.
one of his best lyrics and hardly known beside the more famous ones. It'll stand in time with his best though.
So that line also resonates with you. What a powerful line
Love it when the violin kicks in and Bruce looks up to the Gods!! Perfect
Forever my favourite Bruce song. I honestly don’t understand how it’s so underrated. Beautiful, passionate, hypnotic... ethereal ❤️

La edición del disco es un poco sosa, pero en directo es espectacular. Me gustaría verla en concierto!

I could not agree more, it's a masterpeice.
Mine too. It all started with this song.
Just look at what this man gives to his live performances. Unbelievable.

By far, his most underrated song. All 3 guitars, Soozie Tyrell, and E Street hitting all its marks.
Questa è stata la migliore formazione della leggendaria E Street Band
Perhaps the best song of the Rising album
Not „perhaps“!
For Sure!!!!!
One of my most favourite Bruce Springsteen song.
ohhh no het got more masterpices bro
I am a lifelong fan of Bruce and the E Street Band. This is brilliant!
He's like Jesus. To go from Born to Run, To New York Serenade and this. He is a gift to all of us

“Worlds Apart” - IMO one of Springsteen’s greatest works.🎸🎷🎸🎷
I agree.
This is just truly fantastic. Something really tribal and mystical about it. Never appreciated the song until I seen the live performance
white man singing tribal songs is racist
@@sooqa2028 what are you talking about? Music is universal. Different artists can influences from anywhere, regardless of its origin.

Danni Federici for ever. RIP, but the Rock'n'Roll can never die. Awesome performance with an incredible audience.
I have stopped posting on Bruce and the ESB. 40 years on his journey and he has raised me from despair and given life. Enough said
Holy hell
This is incredible! I mean, I love the Boss, he's my #1 but damn, this is next level ❤😮
Bruce springsteen in his full glory.

brilliant album - brilliant song and "Paradise" is up there as one of his greatest songs too
Perfection. Thing from other world...
This song has such a "world music" feel to me, much like Sting's track Desert Rose which I also adore :)
Absolutely agreed! Magic!!!!
It's Indian classical music, not "just" world music.
Top music, melody, perfect tone and arrangements, transmits a Moroccan sound with something mysterious to be discovered🎸🎷🎸🎷
This is Indian Hindustani classical music, and the original is performed by Qawwali singers. Here, it's blended with Irish music, but either way there is really no Moroccan sound here.
One of those songs that requires 🎧 to really see why this is a masterpiece ...The boss is a GOAT for sure .

One of my favorite Springsteen songs - “over mountains draped in stars” (!!!!) 🎸🎸🎸👍👍👍
