I think that fact that he wasn’t flashy is the reason he isn’t as popular as queen or Led Zeppelin. It’s not fair but I guess that’s what he wanted.

I know what you mean! Those of us who absolutely adore Springsteen, long ago found out that sharing his music with casual listeners can be very frustrating indeed. The often revisited theme of search for redemption like in the masterpiece ‘Incident on 57th Street,’ just seems to go right over the head of your “top 40” type music listener. Maybe it goes in the “too hard” category. Nothing mindless about listening to the greatest American songwriter. You nailed it.

Real music is out there, still. I doubt it will ever stop being out there. It may be a slightly different style, but that's normal. I'm pretty sure when Springsteen was young, older people were also bemoaning the death of real music. When people started doing polyphony in the Renaissance, I guarantee you someone somewhere was bemoaning the death of real music. And yet there still are people seeking out and singing medieval songs many centuries later.

Do not knock "Tougher Than the Rest". That entire album is an amazing sight into the reality of love.
This song romanticises love. Of, course you expect that in your 20's.
Maybe lack of views is due to song title. The full band version gets more appreciation from me, but AFTER solo piano in Tampa well before this DVD was released.

This tour cost me less than $100 a seat. I was 4th row to Bruce's right at the side if the stage.
Current tour (2023), $300 a seat. Sitting to his right beside the stage, but 19th row.
PS Rising Tour able to buy parking pass for garage across the street. 2023 arena has no control over that garage. Those spots took 20 minutes to sell out.
I learned Uber is more expensive and linger wait. Missed first two songs (Ghost sad...) thanks to that nightmare.

Last week I visited New York, with my Girl and our daughter. It was our very first trip to the US.
As we walked along 7th Ave and 57th Street this song came to mind. This one and New York City Serenade. It was an awesome moment!
A perfect Soundtrack for our trip.
Oh, how I fell in love with New York City...🇺🇸

Simplistically one of the most beautiful songs I've heard..... And I've heard a TON! It makes you wish you were there with 10 thousand of your closest friends singing together. That's what this does to you. It puts you in that place. In that moment. In that song! You can see it as it is being performed. You see the characters in the musical play. What a gem 💎

1975 I was 13 years old. My buddies older brother, 16, pulled out a record and put it on the record player. A second or two later I began to hear the pounding of the drums and the intro to Born to Run. It captivated me and I said, "WHO'S THAT!". He yelled, "THAT'S BRUCE SPRINGSTEEN".
