Nobody ever talks about what an incredible piano player he is. Yes, he may not be technically great, but he projects so much emotion and passion....and isn't that what great music is about anyway?
Bruce wrote many of his greatest songs from the piano, including all the songs on Born to Run. It's not all that well known but Bruce learned the piano before he learned the guitar.

Cant believe the lack of likes for this. This reduces me to ALMOST tears, lol, so so so beautiful, this taps into everything that makes us human and I fucking love it so much. Thanks Bruce.
I think that fact that he wasn’t flashy is the reason he isn’t as popular as queen or Led Zeppelin. His talent is amazing but his heart didn’t want to show off and I think I’m the long run he never got the respect and recognition he so rightfully deserved. It’s not fair but I guess that’s what he wanted.
@@josefmatushek28 He got a far longer career out of it. Every time I see Led Zeppelin fans flexing it over others online, I cannot help but think "but they didn't last, did they".

Beautiful imagery ,West side story -esque.....but there is still a big part of me that wants to keep this all for myself
I know what you mean! Those of us who absolutely adore Springsteen, long ago found out that sharing his music with casual listeners can be very frustrating indeed. The often revisited theme of search for redemption like in the masterpiece ‘Incident on 57th Street,’ just seems to go right over the head of your “top 40” type music listener. Maybe it goes in the “too hard” category. Nothing mindless about listening to the greatest American songwriter. You nailed it.

Nothing like seeing him live. I've been blessed to see him many times in the last 40 years, including on Broadway. He only gets better with age, if you can believe that!
Love this song to death. Learned this song on my guitar and sung it for my son while he went to sleep. Those moments in Covid years remain in heart forever while going through a divorce, this song and other songs by The Boss held me through it ❤ Fast track to 2024, still loving it 😊
Hope everything is better for you. I hear you Bruce has been on my journey with me and my divorce and chronic illness. Jungleland is another amazing song. That sax solo always gives me chills
Never really payed to much attention to his earliest work, I just thought it wasn't for me. But after having seen this, I'm certainly convinced. This song almost stands with his very best and biggest hits.
Sometimes I just sit back and think how much impact this man’s work has had on my life and millions of other lives. Every single day is a “Bruce day.” ‘Incident on 57th Street’, the greatest romantic story written about NYC ever! To think Bruce wrote this by 23 years old. Genius babe!
This is my favorite Bruce song - right behind about twenty others. Can you believe how many great songs Springsteen's written. No wonder he has a hard time with mundane reality - when he performs he goes so deep inside - to a place most of us can't fathom - and becomes the song - not just a singer of some words.
It makes me so sad that my generation will never grow to appreciate the beauty of real music like this. Truly the greatest songwriter and live entertainer of all time
Real music is out there, still. I doubt it will ever stop being out there. It may be a slightly different style, but that's normal. I'm pretty sure when Springsteen was young, older people were also bemoaning the death of real music. When people started doing polyphony in the Renaissance, I guarantee you someone somewhere was bemoaning the death of real music. And yet there still are people seeking out and singing medieval songs many centuries later. (My personal contemporary young generation favourites are Seo Linn, but I'm pretty sure there are lots of others.)
some will. I've played Bruce to my son since he was a baby. He is now 30 and loves his music, so much so he went to his last Jersey concert in Sept whilst he was on his honeymoon in the USA. We live in Australia.
could listen for hours. It's the most beautiful song ever. Bruce and the E Streetband makes me happy since more than 40 years and i can't get enough from his music. Each day starts and finished with a Bruce song. Best health for all time.
Incredible, truly beautiful. I thought The Promise (Bruce on piano, live in NYC) and Racing in the Street (at Paramount) were unsurpassable moments of magic, but this is in danger of being my most played video. The greatest songwriter, storyteller, singer and performer I've discovered in 74 years on this planet. Thank you Bruce, for enriching my life with your music and your humanity.

Do not knock "Tougher Than the Rest". That entire album is an amazing sight into the reality of love. This song romanticises love. Of, course you expect that in your 20's. Maybe lack of views is due to song title. The full band version gets more appreciation from me, but AFTER solo piano in Tampa well before this DVD was released.
Incident on 57th Street album version would barely enter their top 50 songs. But in this version it's one of his 10 best songs. With Bruce it's like that. It's just like him. On the album he's one of the best musicians of our era. Live he's the best of all time.
My favorite version of “Incident”. Been a Springsteen fan since I was a sophomore at Seton Hall in ‘75 and first saw him live. More than once Double parked my car and ran through the streets of Passaic to get tics at the Capitol Theatre. WNEW would announce “ tickets go on sale .....NOW”. Quite memorable when he would show up in Asbury clubs in the middle of winter when crowds were small. I could go on and on......
Have to thank my friend Paolo for convincing me to drive down from Paris to Barcelona after the October 14 show despite us having no tickets, and a show planned ahead for Bologna on the 18th... did get tickets outside Palau St Jordi, were in - and listening to this was worth the 2000 extra km driven. Thank you.

that's cute......I am 74 this year and I just "discovered" Bruce's music a few months ago, have almost everything he's done now, when and how did he learn to pay piano?? Love him, and Patti too.
I was there too. In fact he played The Fox twice within a year or so. I'd been to many concerts there (Otis, James Brown, Paul Revere and the Raiders and many others). But Bruce was unlike any I'd seen, or maybe the world had seen. 4 hours non-stop. Crowd going crazy. His sings kept buzzing in my head for days afterward. Rabid fan ever since, needless to say..
Everyone knows him for his vocals , guitar and mouthorgan but he's pretty handy on the piano too. Great song of a truly great album. Almost 50 years old.
This song, along with Racing in the Street, are by far my favourite Springsteen songs. As a big Tom Waits fan I find them equally as moving as Wait's Kentucky Avenue. The songs have the same synergy and storytelling that goes straight to the heart and lacrimal ducts.
I've been a fan for over forty years. I love so many songs he's recorded yet it's very easy for me to pick a favourite: Incident on 57th Street. This piece is simply sublime.

Such a soulful, beautiful, intimate ballad - written by the people's poet laureate. Springsteen is the voice of many generations. This Barcelona concert seems to be one of the most epic of all time. Long live The Boss!
It really does. Love Waiting On A Sunny Day from Barcelona.
The lyrics entrance me. Bruce's piano playing is exquisite.
Tuve la gransuerte de estar en ese pedazo de concierto, inmenso Bruce.
Qué envidia da la buena!
A timeless masterpiece
What is it about this man? I could hear this a thousand times and still get Goosebumps!
Last week I visited New York, with my Girl and our daughter. It was our very first trip to the US.
As we walked along 7th Ave and 57th Street this song came to mind. This one and New York City Serenade. It was an awesome moment!
A perfect Soundtrack for our trip.
Oh, how I fell in love with New York City...🇺🇸
I'll never forget this concert
So so so many favorites but this has to be right up close to the top. My wife and I first started dating when this concert was released on DVD. This has become 'our' song
Donal Murray wish I could find a girl who’s into Springsteen. Come to think of it, nobody my age listens to him. But I’m such a huge fan. Wish I could find friends who shared my taste in music
@@alexjacobson5859 sono qui Alex! Amo Bruce da tempo! 🙋🥰🤩😘💘💋
It also shows what a great piano player he is. Wrote a lot of the early tunes on piano before transposing them to guitar. Amazing performance.
I get misty every time I hear this song. Well done indeed!
Great song shirley
Not surprised at that shirley. Its a MASTERPIECE
People that think Bruce can't sing are crazy!
Such talent
