I love sam. He didn't even need an arc for us to know why he was worthy of being captain america. The first thing we know about him is that he's helping veterans with their ptsd and helping them reinstate in society, not as a job but out of the kindness of his heart. No one in the mcu other than steve is shown to be this kind-hearted out of the bat. Sam didn't GET to be worthy, he's always been. His arc isn't about him earning the mantle, it's about him fighting against everybody that thinks he didn't, including himself. Sam's inherent goodness was always kinda underrated. He's consistently been shown to be a guy who doesn't necessarily need to help, or jump into the fray, yet ALWAYS chooses to do so when presented the opportunity. He has limitations, but he's willing to go the distance anyway. Even after his combat experiences, he chose to help fellow combat vets get reacquainted with civilian life. He could've easily just let Steve & Natasha figure their own problems with HYDRA out, but chose to help them anyway, effectively making himself a potential fugitive. Steve openly tells Sam that the latter does not have to assist in helping to find Bucky, to which Sam replies: "I know. So when do we start?" Sam is even willing to keep his mouth shut for Steve's sake when he's taken into the Raft after the events in Germany. And of course when Steve is about to embark on his time travel mission to return the Infinity Stones, Sam says: "I could go with you." Not unlike a certain scrawny Steve Rogers, Sam Wilson has always displayed this willingness to help, despite the odds being overwhelmingly against his favor, being a regular human alongside other super/technologically-powered beings. That's why when Steve chose him to be the next Captain America, I loved it. Everyone (though understandably so) focuses on just the idea of having superpowers or the serum, or the fact that Bucky already has super strength; but we forget that we love Steve as Captain America BECAUSE he is a good dude, first and foremost. When he wields Mjolnir, it has nothing to do with the fact that he has powers; it's because we're seeing Steve's goodness validated. And yes, while Sam has taken his fair share of licks in the battlefield, he is still an Avenger, who stood alongside them no problem. His arc in "Falcon and the Winter Soldier" has kinda been brushed to the side, in terms of story and fan reaction, but I honestly still love it, and was so jazzed to see him suit up by that series' end. Behind the scenes reshoots/rewrites may be a factor, but I really am hoping the best for "Brave New World" because I really wanna see Sam as Captain America on the big screen! Dr. Irskine hammered down pretty impactfully in "The First Avenger" that what makes Steve worthy of this mantle is being a GOOD MAN. Whether people realize it or not, Sam has exemplified that characteristic consistently since his introduction all the way back in "The Winter Soldier."

My thing is Sam always was the natural choice because the next Cap should be a person of the time. Steve got away with being relatively ignorant of modern issues by just being good. Bucky becoming Cap would be a regression for his character because he has become defined by his past as the Winter Soldier and his present as Steve's friend. If he got the mantle he'd be doomed to live in Steve's shadow forever and he wouldn't be acting out of personal drive but as an abligation to Steve. I guess that's my way of agreeing with your conclusion that the next Cap had to be just a good man and not just a good soldier.

Man, I have to tell you I immediately subscribed when I saw the thumbnail because I've been defending Sam for so long online and I was literally just about to make a video about how he's the only right choice for being Captain America and how he's a phenomenal character and the hate and backlash he gets is genuinely stupid. Oh and thank you for not glossing over the race thing because so many people have made it a point to say he was done for giving up this shield even though he just didn't want to deal with the racism that came with it, which was very clear within the show but for some reason people just missed it. And the part that really makes me mad is that people tried to say Bucky was a better option even though he still can't even properly talk to people and still has a lot of mental issues. So there's no way he could be Captain America and the worst take of all is that John Walker was actually a good Captain America, which if someone says that they clearly do not know what they're talking about (another criticism that I really hate that I was making into a TH-cam short so I could defend Sam on that point was how people try to say he was defending a terrorist even though they completely missed what was going on in that scene. Sam is absolutely amazing. I love his character especially in Falcon And The Winter Soldier. Sam is such an inspirational character and I can’t wait to see him get his own solo movie along with leading the Avengers against Kang. Sam has been one of the most consistently well written characters in the MCU. The Captain America Trilogy is perfect so Brave New World has a lot to live up to but if the quality of the movie is anything like the quality of the Falcon And The Winter Soldier were in for one of the best superhero movies of all time.
I wanted and expected bucky to become cap but when steve gave sam the shield it hit me different than i expected emotionally. I did not know i needed sam as cap.
When Steve and Nat asks for shelter and Sam overheard their conversation, Sam was not asked to join the fight. He offered it. Steve saw that goodness in him despite being a stranger. He truly is a good man worthy to carry the shield.

Interesting. I always thought sam was cool but i sort of brushed him off as someone of note, especially cos i havent seen everything mcu. But this makes him seem like a much nore promising character in the future. Hope they dont butcher him
Sam was being groomed to be Cap since Winter Soldier which as you remember opens and ends with Sam. Sam has always had some of the best action sequences in the MCU as Falcon. I think Marvel dropped the ball by not having Sam cameo in WF or The Marvels as Cap to get people a taste of him as Cap plus to keep world building which they have been horrible at since Endgame. I think Cap 4 will change everybodies minds tho because Anthony Mackie is underrated and will become a true action movie hero in this movie. With all that said I do wish they found a way to give him the serum tho because fighting guys like Red Hulk without it…still can’t wait tho.
Well here's my take. U see it makes for some very interesting storytelling especially when it comes to passing on the superhero mantle other people. We first have to seperate the suit/Armor/powers,etc from the person who is dawning them. They in themselves are just a potentially dangerous weapon. It is the person who wears that gives the mantle its identity. So when we say captian America is symbolic of something, how did hw become to be symbolic of that in the first place. Its bcoz of fhw person who first wore the suit and took the serum and the legacy that they left behind with it. Now when it comes to passing it to someone else, surely the suit in itself doesn't require anyone to be a certain way in order to become worthy of wearing it. Which is why we alway fear the suir falling into the wrong hands. So when someone says it doesn't matter who inside the suit, i would disagree. I think it does matter who is inside the suit, but it depends on what aspects of the person do we choose to emphasize upon. Is it the superficial and physical characteristics of that person, or is it who they are at their core in terms of their value system. So with Sam, he gets to decide what kind of legacy he wants to leave behind with the suit. Surely Steve trusted Sam not because he saw his own reflection in him, but because he saw Sam for who he was and he valued that. Knowing that whatever he will do as his time being captian America, he will ensure justice in his own way without burdening himself with following thw exact same footsteps as Steve did. Thoughts??!
Look in the comic books having everyone take the mantle of the heroes most people love is one thing. Even when that happened people still only want the REAL versions of those characters. Steve Rogers being the REAL Captain America. Proof it’s not about race is the fact Bucky didn’t last in the mantle in the comics either. Why? Because people love Steve in his proper mantle and place. No one wants a fraud in his place. There was a time where I just hoped maybe they let Sam be Cap in the same way he did in the comics. But considering how they fumbled the bag hard with his show. Sam Wilson is the best man to be Captain America. The black heroes that came before him were, Isaiah Bradley and Adam Brashear, who were imprisoned or forced to give up being heroes by the US Government because of the colour of their skin. This may just be comic book fiction but the storylines, reflected a truth within US politics at that time.

It is a bit annoying to see ppl crapping on Sam Wilson as Captain America. I feel as though it’s rooted in r*cism for a good majority., especially when they say Bucky deserved it more lol. Wilson has always been one of my favorite characters in the MCU and I’m excited to see his version of Cap. I just hope the controversy of him becoming Cap doesn’t affect the box office numbers for his film.

I disagree, his sympathy for Karli is a weakness. Instead of taking down evil he wants to put blame on his government and tell them how to do their job. Steve never would’ve defended Hydra because they are villains.
Not remotely the same, it’s more like when Steve called out Nick Fury for agreeing with the idea of using the Tesseract’s power to build weapons for shield. Mind you, Steve criticize this about shield BEFORE knowing that they were HYDRA. Plus, if that’s your argument then Steve’s valor/righteousness is often seen as a weakness. Again he sympathized, but he clearly thought that they should face lawful consequences for their actions. Now your argument would have more validity if he set them all free. If he set them free, or told them to escape, then went on to tell the government to do better, THEN I can understand where you’re coming from. However, that’s not what happened and we’re getting too hung up on the fact that he chose not to call them terrorist.
Well, there is that tiny fact that Bucky spent the past 70 years as a Soviet Assassin and murdered countless people over the years. Whereas Sam is not only a Vet himself, that works with other Vets to help them reassimilate into society, he's a working class man that stands for protecting people and doing the right thing. I love sam. He didn't even need an arc for us to know why he was worthy of being captain america. The first thing we know about him is that he's helping veterans with their ptsd and helping them reinstate in society, not as a job but out of the kindness of his heart. No one in the mcu other than steve is shown to be this kind-hearted out of the bat.
Sam didn't GET to be worthy, he's always been.
His arc isn't about him earning the mantle, it's about him fighting against everybody that thinks he didn't, including himself. That's the same humility we see in steve when he says he's no more than any other soldier risking their lives.

Sam's inherent goodness was always kinda underrated. He's consistently been shown to be a guy who doesn't necessarily need to help, or jump into the fray, yet ALWAYS chooses to do so when presented the opportunity. He has limitations, but he's willing to go the distance anyway. Even after his combat experiences, he chose to help fellow combat vets get reacquainted with civilian life. He could've easily just let Steve & Natasha figure their own problems with HYDRA out, but chose to help them anyway, effectively making himself a potential fugitive. Steve openly tells Sam that the latter does not have to assist in helping to find Bucky, to which Sam replies: "I know. So when do we start?" Sam is even willing to keep his mouth shut for Steve's sake when he's taken into the Raft after the events in Germany. And of course when Steve is about to embark on his time travel mission to return the Infinity Stones, Sam says: "I could go with you." Not unlike a certain scrawny Steve Rogers, Sam Wilson has always displayed this willingness to help, despite the odds being overwhelmingly against his favor, being a regular human alongside other super/technologically-powered beings. That's why when Steve chose him to be the next Captain America, I loved it. Everyone (though understandably so) focuses on just the idea of having superpowers or the serum, or the fact that Bucky already has super strength; but we forget that we love Steve as Captain America BECAUSE he is a good dude, first and foremost. When he wields Mjolnir, it has nothing to do with the fact that he has powers; it's because we're seeing Steve's goodness validated. And yes, while Sam has taken his fair share of licks in the battlefield, he is still an Avenger, who stood alongside them no problem. His arc in "Falcon and the Winter Soldier" has kinda been brushed to the side, in terms of story and fan reaction, but I honestly still love it, and was so jazzed to see him suit up by that series' end. Behind the scenes reshoots/rewrites may be a factor, but I really am hoping the best for "Brave New World" because I really wanna see Sam as Captain America on the big screen! Dr. Irskine hammered down pretty impactfully in "The First Avenger" that what makes Steve worthy of this mantle is being a GOOD MAN. Whether people realize it or not, Sam has exemplified that characteristic consistently since his introduction all the way back in "The Winter Soldier."

My thing is Sam always was the natural choice because the next Cap should be a person of the time. Steve got away with being relatively ignorant of modern issues by just being good. Bucky becoming Cap would be a regression for his character because he has become defined by his past as the Winter Soldier and his present as Steve's friend. If he got the mantle he'd be doomed to live in Steve's shadow forever and he wouldn't be acting out of personal drive but as an abligation to Steve. I guess that's my way of agreeing with your conclusion that the next Cap had to be just a good man and not just a good soldier.

Man, I have to tell you I immediately subscribed when I saw the thumbnail because I've been defending Sam for so long online and I was literally just about to make a video about how he's the only right choice for being Captain America and how he's a phenomenal character and the hate and backlash he gets is genuinely stupid. Oh and thank you for not glossing over the race thing because so many people have made it a point to say he was done for giving up this shield even though he just didn't want to deal with the racism that came with it, which was very clear within the show but for some reason people just missed it. And the part that really makes me mad is that people tried to say Bucky was a better option even though he still can't even properly talk to people and still has a lot of mental issues. So there's no way he could be Captain America and the worst take of all is that John Walker was actually a good Captain America, which if someone says that they clearly do not know what they're talking about (another criticism that I really hate that I was making into a TH-cam short so I could defend Sam on that point was how people try to say he was defending a terrorist even though they completely missed what was going on in that scene. Sam is absolutely amazing. I love his character especially in Falcon And The Winter Soldier. Sam is such an inspirational character and I can’t wait to see him get his own solo movie along with leading the Avengers against Kang. Sam has been one of the most consistently well written characters in the MCU. The Captain America Trilogy is perfect so Brave New World has a lot to live up to but if the quality of the movie is anything like the quality of the Falcon And The Winter Soldier were in for one of the best superhero movies of all time.
I wanted and expected bucky to become cap but when steve gave sam the shield it hit me different than i expected emotionally. I did not know i needed sam as cap.
When Steve and Nat asks for shelter and Sam overheard their conversation, Sam was not asked to join the fight. He offered it. Steve saw that goodness in him despite being a stranger. He truly is a good man worthy to carry the shield.
I'm all about Sam as Cap just as long as Ross is President and we have a Red Hulk.

Sam was being groomed to be Cap since Winter Soldier which as you remember opens and ends with Sam.
Sam has always had some of the best action sequences in the MCU as Falcon.
I think Marvel dropped the ball by not having Sam cameo in WF or The Marvels as Cap to get people a taste of him as Cap plus to keep world building which they have been horrible at since Endgame.
I think Cap 4 will change everybodies minds tho because Anthony Mackie is underrated and will become a true action movie hero in this movie.
With all that said I do wish they found a way to give him the serum tho because fighting guys like Red Hulk without it…still can’t wait tho.

Well here's my take. U see it makes for some very interesting storytelling especially when it comes to passing on the superhero mantle other people.
We first have to seperate the suit/Armor/powers,etc from the person who is dawning them. They in themselves are just a potentially dangerous weapon. It is the person who wears that gives the mantle its identity. So when we say captian America is symbolic of something, how did hw become to be symbolic of that in the first place.
Its bcoz of fhw person who first wore the suit and took the serum and the legacy that they left behind with it.
Now when it comes to passing it to someone else, surely the suit in itself doesn't require anyone to be a certain way in order to become worthy of wearing it. Which is why we alway fear the suir falling into the wrong hands.
So when someone says it doesn't matter who inside the suit, i would disagree. I think it does matter who is inside the suit, but it depends on what aspects of the person do we choose to emphasize upon. Is it the superficial and physical characteristics of that person, or is it who they are at their core in terms of their value system.
So with Sam, he gets to decide what kind of legacy he wants to leave behind with the suit. Surely Steve trusted Sam not because he saw his own reflection in him, but because he saw Sam for who he was and he valued that. Knowing that whatever he will do as his time being captian America, he will ensure justice in his own way without burdening himself with following thw exact same footsteps as Steve did.

Look in the comic books having everyone take the mantle of the heroes most people love is one thing. Even when that happened people still only want the REAL versions of those characters. Steve Rogers being the REAL Captain America. Proof it’s not about race is the fact Bucky didn’t last in the mantle in the comics either. Why? Because people love Steve in his proper mantle and place. No one wants a fraud in his place.
There was a time where I just hoped maybe they let Sam be Cap in the same way he did in the comics. But considering how they fumbled the bag hard with his show. They blew the chance I gave him. So I have no sympathy for him or people like you that want to simp for him.

Wilson has always been one of my favorite characters in the MCU and I’m excited to see his version of Cap. I just hope the controversy of him becoming Cap doesn’t affect the box office numbers for his film.
I need to know because Im not much of a Captain America fan, Sam Wilson did not take the super soilder serum right! Because nearly every Captain America has even the one before Steve Rogers.

@@reginesaguin1191 I'm with you there, the Falcon and the Winter Soldier should have absolutely been a movie, the villain should have been rewritten since Karli was awful, but the story of restoring some semblance of order and taking down the Flag Smashers could have happened in a 2 hour movie rather than the 4 hours the series took

I'm sorry, but I completely disagree. Comic book collector since 1979. I have about 3 K+ comics. Without Steve Rogers there is no Captain America. Regardless of Sam's arch he is not a super-soldier and a man out of time. Plus, movie wise Anthony Mackie can't carry a movie like Chris Evans can. It's OVER

I disagree, his sympathy for Karli is a weakness. Instead of taking down evil he wants to put blame on his government and tell them how to do their job. Steve never would’ve defended Hydra because they are villains.
Not remotely the same, it’s more like when Steve called out Nick Fury for agreeing with the idea of using the Tesseract’s power to build weapons for shield. Mind you, Steve criticize this about shield BEFORE knowing that they were HYDRA. Plus, if that’s your argument then Steve’s valor/righteousness is often seen as a weakness. It’s good for heroes to have weaknesses.

@@mikevilla8230 then I asked if we watch the same show then. Sam does that. Though he sympathizes with their circumstances, he clearly does not agree with them. So much so that he still actively trying to stop them, whether in civilized manner, by force, or both. At the end of the series, we see the flag smashers being carded off to prison (The Raft). Clearly indicating that that’s what Sam wanted, and if Karli wasn’t killed, she would be going to prison as well. Even the scene where he talks to her, he tries to make her see that her actions were wrong. That she will be no different than the people she despises. Again he sympathized, but he clearly thought that they should face lawful consequences for their actions. Now your argument would have more validity if he set them all free. If he set them free, or told them to escape, then went on to tell the government to do better, THEN I can understand where you’re coming from. However, that’s not what happened and we’re getting too hung up on the fact that he chose not to call them terrorist.

Well, there is that tiny fact that Bucky spent the past 70 years as a Soviet Assassin and murdered countless people over the years. Whereas Sam is not only a Vet himself, that works with other Vets to help them reassimilate into society, he's a working class man that stands for protecting people and doing the right thing. Captain America's greatest super power was always his strength of character, not the strength of his punches.

Not only did they blow up a building with multiple civilian security guards they’re enhanced making them walking threats to everyone around them they killed a fellow soldier and then jumped walker for stopping one. Sam only yapped at them to mimic the dynamic between Steve and Bucky but it’s completely different circumstances his best friend is back from the dead and his choices weren’t her own Karli made her choice to become a terrorist.
