Maybe a hot take but, if the MCU decide to introduce a new version of Wolverine, I think he should only appear in the X-men sequel, not the first film. This would not allow the MCU X-men team to stand on their own, showing they don't need to be dependent on Logan in order to be a sucess (unlike the Fox films) and would help to portray Logan as this brooding loner. So, when he finally meet the team, there would be a huge contrast since Logan is used to do things on his own meanwhile the X-men were trained together by Xavier and know how to work as team.
YES my thoughts exactly, they need to hold out on him. Maybe tease him in the post credit scene if the first movie but let the team dynamic work without him first
@@WholeShebangYT Exactly. The first x-men film should be a coming of age story, showing the X-men (probably the first class) growing from this inexperient students to heroes, embrancing their role of fighting for a better world for humans and mutants. The second film should be about them (in particular Scott) learning to adapt to new members like Logan (and maybe the Giant Size team), who aren't teenagers nor are used to work as part of their team. And the third film should have the X-men and their enemies (probably Magneto and the Brotherhood) teaming up to fight against a big common threat. That way their trilogy would show the growth of the X-men as team and their dynamics, while also establishing a main theme for their films, about understanding each other and working together (which is the X-men message against prejuice and intolerance).
Definitely not a hot take I’ve seen that idea thrown around and I agree with it, Xmen need a break from Wolverine in the first film cause general audiences have been exposed to him enough and hell over shadow everyone else in their eyes, other than that I think the main characters who need to be on mcu Xmen (discounting Xavier cause we know he’s on the team since he founded it lol) are Cyclops, Jean and Storm those 3 are most iconic in that team that also fox didn’t do justice for, now idk how many you’d put in a team for Xmen cause the number and roster changes a lot but let’s say Six, there’s heaps of characters to chose if it was my choir I’d add, Rogue, Gambit and Nightcrawler (I’m sick of my boy Kurt not being in main Xmen but just supporting character😭)good even mix of girls and boys so it’s not a complete sausage fest lol
I completely agree and I think wolverine should have his own trilogy going at the same time. He’s too much of an interesting character to just be a side character of the X-Men but he shouldn’t be the main focus of those movies, so having him be a slightly lesser character in the X-Men movies is alright if he’s got his own movies to tell stories
@@alexandrefrauches132 I feel like the mcu should start with the original 5, than introduce the uncanny x-men in the sequel. Imo the O5 rarely get represented well.
Not necessary. I am a 5,3 dude, I'm short. And I don't care, I don't need to be represented based on my physique, I just want to have a good time. I just want a good actor, a suitable actor who understands Wolverine DEEPER than superficial shit like his height or any other physical traits. His personality, his story, his conflicts, that's what matters, I don't care if he's 6ft, 7ft, 10ft tall. Representation is much more meaningful if you can emotionally connect with the characters rather than just connect with them through physical traits alone.
@gtoyadhatagyab8013 I understand not feeling it to be an absolute must, but it wouldn't hurt. It's not just a superficial trait, his height is in his very name. A small, stocky critter crazy enough to take on a moose solo. Yes, the acting is most important but a Wolverine that's at least 5'5" wouldn't hurt. It's not about representation, it's about embracing the insanity of the comics
its not about short people respresentation..we dont care if you feel represented. but theres nothing wrong with us wanting to see a short wolverine just to see an accurate version
@@formerjzmyou did see an accurate version and it looked ridiculous. The shortest he could be is like 5'7, James McAvoy would've worked if he wasn't already Xavier in the past.
@@TheWuCepticon1981 no we didnt see an accurate version...we saw a 4'11 version and that looked ridiculous...the guy wasnt even actually 5'3 but i agree that he can atleast be 5'5-5'8
Another thing that makes Wolverine being short make sense is that the real-life animal he is named after is also short. The wolverine is a relatively small and stocky weasel that is known for being vicious and can take on prey that's many times its size. There's even this story about a wolverine latching onto a polar bear's throat with its jaws and suffocating it to death. That's the kind of vibe and aura I'd like to see from Wolverine in future Marvel movies: a short hairy man with a short temper who can take on and lay the paws on opponents far bigger than himself all because of his rage and ferocity. Heck, we even see a glimpse of that in the comics with Wolverine giving no fucks about taking on 9-foot-tall powerhouses like the Hulk. The sooner we see something like that in theaters, the better.
His Napoleon complex is a huge part of his character. Sabertooth calling him runt while towering over him is what I want. And if they get a younger character they need apply aging makeup so over the years they can peal it back a little to make him look the same age the whole time. Honestly Rip from Yellowstone is exactly how Wolverine should act and talk.
@@VengefulJarl Right, I always thought so. And always enjoyed Juggernaut calling him "Tiny". Do The Juggernaut justice and give us a sawed off self conscious Logan who us often at odds w everyone, including many close allies. Not simply calling Scott a dick but being (for instance) physically separated from Hank, or Scott before they do each other real harm by Emma Frost who we have yet to see in all her conflicted bitchy powerful AF glory.
@@tempestous-i3kAgreed, I think we could have a greater storyline with Emma and Scott personally, as he developed better as a character with her in the comics as well, really stepped up into a real leadership role.
They're so afraid of Wolverine being cast with a short actor, its hilarious haha. They want Wolverine to be tall/handsome so they can live vicariously through him on the big screen or something, lmao. These people must have forgotten that Tom Holland is literally 5'6 and playing Spider-Man. Jackie Earle Haley is literally 5'5 and played Rorschach, who was everyone's favorite character in the Watchmen movie. This excuse that short people "won't work on screen" is just them scrambling for anything they can come up with.
Another thing the MCU needs to handle in Wolverine is his dynamic with the other X-men. Outside from Rogue and Xavier, the Fox films got Logan dynamic with the rest of the team either wrong or barely explore. The greatest exemple is the Scott/Jean/Logan love triangle. The films portrayed Scott like he's obstacle between Logan and Jean, trying to make the public want Logan to steal Jean from Scott. In the comics is much more complex: Jean, despite feeling empathy for Logan, is loyal to Scott. Logan, despite feelings for Jean, respect her choices and while he and Scott may have arguments, they both see the good in each other and share mutual respect. There's some versions (exemple: X-men 97) that show that Logan doesn't try to have a relationship with Jean bc he doesn't think he's good enough for her, representing how Logan doesn't see himself as this great hero others see him as. This is why he works so well with the X-men, because they are all outcasts who, by using their powers to help humanity, they find their own potential to be heroes.
@@WholeShebangYT Not only that, but also Logan relationship with the other X-men. The biggest one for me being his dynamic with Nightcrawler (one my top 3 favorite super heroes btw). In the films the two only share a brief line but, in the comics they are one close friends, with Kurt's fun loving optimistic personality acting a complement to Logan's agressive and pessimistic attitude.
EXACTLY. Stop forcing this "love triangle" nonsense that was NEVER a thing. Jean loves Cyclops, not Wolverine. Don't even get me started on the comics making up some polyamorous bs to try and "justify" this. They bring that to the movies, I will make sure to boycott ALL X-Men movies for good measure.
@@markanderson7236 I believe that all Disney + shows moving forward need to be grounded and more lower budget. Shows like daredevil, a new punisher show, nighthawk, white tiger, night thrasher. Some of these characters are unknown but I think that’s a good thing.
Taron strikes me as potentially being another Tom Holland in that he's far to young, and babyface visually, to be playing the character he's meant to be playing, instead playing a bastardized version of the character if he got the part.
For me, he should be no taller than 5'8. He doesnt have to be comically short but at least shorter than half the mcu roster. I also think he needs to wear the brown suit. Hugh wears the iconic yellow and blue now. This version should wear the brown and orange one to further separate him from hugh and the audience completely sees this is a different wolverine
I prefer Hugh Jackman Wolverine over the comic Wolverine.... There i said it. Idgaf it it's not comic accurate. That version of Wolverine is my go-to. From his animilistic fighting style and yelling to his physique and height. I even liked origins. This version of Wolverine is such a badass.
Personally I could see Radcliffe or Josh Hutcherson as Wolverine. Ignoring that he was already in Thor Ragnarok (no one will care), people say they want Karl Urban, but I’d want him for the slightly taller, slightly more animalistic Sabertooth. Let him tower over Wolverine and call him “runt”. Now THAT would be perfect! Edit: If they really are rebooting the entire MCU as rumored, let’s have Wolverine and Captain America talk about both having lived through WWII. Give us Wolverine’s (perhaps misguided) loyalty to and trust in Nick Fury. Wolverine has so much to explore in a larger Marvel universe outside of his connection to the X-Men, but it really only works if he has been around for longer.
@@melancholyentertainment I mean, a slightly younger Logan wouldn't be too bad (early to late 30s at least). At least someone who could carry the franchise for the next 10 years further.
Personally, I'm more of the opinion that Daniel Radcliffe would be a better Wolverine than Josh Hutcherson. Both are short actors, sure, but Daniel looks like he could pull off the gruff hairy man visage more convincingly, while Josh is a tad too good-looking.
Cant believe I’m finally seeing other people say Josh Hutcherson, he’s probably my second pick after Radcliffe, no one can convince me that any actor is a better choice than Radcliffe, but Hutcherson is a pretty good choice I do have to say though, whatever actor we get is gonna have to bulk up in muscle at least a little bit I also think Christian Navarro wouldn’t be that bad of a choice either, and he’s just about the only actor that’s actually 5’3 and young enough for the role, but imo he’s got too much of a pretty boy look
I think when it comes to short Wolverine people forget they got a 5ft5 actor to play a comic book accurate Rorschach on the Watchmen movie, which is way darker than anything the MCU has ever done and it still worked. People love that Rorschach.
Exactly; so many people keep saying "short Wolverine won't work" are just purposely saying that because their personally biased for wanting a tall/handsome Wolverine instead, which is ridiculous. Like you said, Rorschach was literally 5'5 in the Watchmen movie and was everyone's favorite character. Tom Holland is literally 5'6 and playing MCU Spider-Man with a 2 billion dollar hit movie under his belt. People have no idea what they're talking about.
@@Josh-si6ds dude u just sound stupid with all of that crap we saw a 5 3 Wolverine and it looked horrible I wanted a short Wolverine until I saw that I’ll take a 5 7 but 5 3 hell no and tbh if anyone insecure it sounds like it’s you I’m 5’10 I’m fine with my height if anyone mad that they haven’t had someone to represent them it you little short king.
Personally, I don't care all too much about height for the next hypothetical Wolverine actor. That said, if any of the casting agencies do happen to find a short actor who fits the role, definitely go for it. It only makes sense. I think the people who are strongly opposed to a hypothetical short Wolverine only know Jackman's portrayal and are unfamiliar with the source material. Hollywood glazers are also partially to blame. The thought of a short, ugly superhero being dominant over others makes them uncomfortable. You can thank the beauty industry for this mentality.
One thing I NEED the mcu to do is take inspiration from x men evolution (great show by the way) is to omit the love triangle between Scott, Jean, and Wolverine. Even if mcu Logan still has feelings for Jean, I’d much rather him put those feelings aside so she and Scott can have a healthy relationship (kinda like x men 97 as well)
@@aidanshowers8366 knowing Disney none of this straight relationships are going to happen bc of Disney I wouldn’t be surprised if half the X-men are gay or lesbian
The next person to play Wolverine could be 5’3, that still doesn’t mean he’d potray him better than Hugh Jackman. And I thought Cavill playing him in that one scene was pretty funny but I honestly don’t see him being a long-term Wolverine.
Exactly, people are wanting to base everything on his height.... Does not mean that he will be a good actor. He might have the height but it doesn't mean he can do it.
5’3 and 200 plus pounds of muscle with a gruff voice that can act…I don’t know where people think they are going to find an actor that looks like that. People are throwing out Daniel Radcliffe and he just doesn’t look the part and he’s taller than 5’3. Too boyish looking. Even in his 30s, he looks childlike. 5’8 or 5’9 is the average height and far more probable in finding a match.
Wolverine is quite silly in general, bro is a short hairy immortal canadian that smells bad and has a napoleon complex with a goofy hairstyle and I think thats a part of his character that makes him likeable
@@redstone5062 They can make him a little taller than 5'3. Say 5ft5 or 5ft7... ... Gael García Bernal (5ft7) would be another interesting choice. Good actor.
I think saying Hugh “needs to go” is careless. He is THE superhero actor 26 years, 10 movies, damaging his body with PED’s at almost 60 years of age. Reeves, Snipes, Downey jr, no one has anything on his workload. He can stay as long as he wants. Because he’s earned it, no matter what that means. Even if it means it’s till he’s 90
The MCU should do what was done in animation After the incredibly faithful/successful and iconic X-Men the Animated series in the 90s where Wolverine was the star of the show the next animated show had Logan take a backseat so other characters could be highlighted This is what the next set of X-Men movies should do and like X-Men Evolution the MCU Wolverine should be a mentor character not the lead
Dude, the MCU is going to reboot after secret wars so basically yes Hugh Jackman has to be in the MCU before it gets rebooted. We already confirmed that Hugh Jackman’s going to continue as wolverine in the MCU.
It’s clear that Hugh Jackman is going to continue being Wolverine especially after that movie making over $1 billion Kevin Feige and Disney basically have told him that he can be the character until he decides to retire which honestly is the right thing to do the guy been the character for 24 years. He deserves to be the one to side when he hangs up Wolverine claws.
Nah. Stop it with the short Wolverine thing. Hugh Jackman portrayed him good enough for the character to be rethought and make him tall and make that canon. In fact, most people nowadays know Wolverine because of Hugh Jackman and not the comics.
so....we've had a tall wolverine with hugh for a while so by default, the character has already been rethought to be taller and thus canon....so theres nothing wrong with trying something new cinema wise this time...if the opportunity for a good short actor comes about, then we should try it..
The actors I’d probably be okay with are - Jared Keeso (he’s actually Canadian) - Milo Gibson (probably would make the most accurate looking Wolverine) - Zac Efron (he’s not a pretty boy anymore and he’s build) - Daniel Radcliffe (he’s ripped, can play feral and is almost the right height) - Scott Eastwood - and MAYBE Henry Cavill BUT if he was made to look a little shorter or they got Jacob Elordi or Wolfgang Novogratz to play Cyclops to make him look shorter
Hugh Jackman is the greatest superhero movie actor of all time. His run is undefeated. They practically replaced every MCu character around him except him. He is bigger than the X-men. Hell his whole career hinges on it. A fantastic actor who you will struggle to name 3 other things he has been in, you have watched and now remember outside anything to do with Wolverine.
We should just get a Disney Plus Wolverine Anthology show where we get stand alone episodes across Wolverine’s whole life Almost like 30 Minute to hour long version of the Wolverine Variants scenes in Deadpool and Wolverine The first episode could be based on the 2000s Origin comic but more faithful then X-Men Origins the movie And each episode could end with Wolverine experiencing some trauma leading to his mind healing and removing his memories We could see episodes in various wars specifically WW2, We could see a Weapon X episode where he’s experimented on so we don’t know whether that’s the reason for his memory loss or whether it just is his mind healing the trauma We could see a Wolverine VS Hulk episode where they eventually team up to fight the Wendigo maybe Wolverine has been sent by Alpha Flight and Department H to deal with the Hulk or even SHIELD And we could see alternate future Wolverines like a more faithful Old Man Logan episode with more Marvel characters in it Just anything before after his time with the X-Men so long as the X-Men aren’t featured and it’s an anthology show where nothing really has to connect but the show in full can say something about the character and each episode says something individually
I think wanting to keep x-23 is understandable. Where is Hugh Jackman's wolverine has been around for a while and should have gotten his final send-off already, x-23 still new and has a lot to offer. As well as of course the actress as x-23
I dunno one of the best things to come from Hughs impact on the character is that Wolverine has been rocking hot (though more unconventionally in drawn mediums) since the 2000's dunno if you watched '97 but Wolverine kinda got it going on i always figured it makes sense he has a nice face because of all that play he gets also that weird coloration of his eyes is a small detail that i really like
Can we stop with this "comic accurate" BS. It is not necessary to have him be 5'3. Plus, there aren't any GOOD actors around the comic height AND build who can play this role properly. People keep saying Daniel Radcliffe, but he is too skinny and he's still taller. Logan is 5'3 300lbs, if you want him short then he needs to be big too, and there is no one who can play that role. Stop asking for him to be short, its unnecessary.
Mark Walberg should play Wolverine, he has the right build and height plus he's a good actor, they would have to make his body a little hairy of course.
Hear me out. I think Zac Effron would be a good pick. he’s the right height and build and can grow facial hair. He also doesn’t have a soft little voice like Daniel Radcliffe.
@@Alf-gm7tf No I don't think that will be the case because Kevin Feige has been friends with Hugh Jackman since X Men 2000 and Logan is one of the most influential movies of all time and for those reasons I believe they will handle Laura/X23 the right way

Yeah, I think the MCU Wolverine should be anywhere from 5’3” to 5’8”. I will admit 5’8” is a decent bit taller than comic book Wolverine but it’s closer in terms of accuracy than say 6’2”.
I genuinely think that Daniel Radcliffe will BREAK EVERYTHING WITH HIS ACTING if he gets to play the Wolverine. But IG the mantle will most probably go to Henry Cavill now that they've already introduced his cameo in DP&W. Then again, I don't mind that as well (other than the height part), 'cause Cavill is a LEGEND & he so deserves a legacy role. But leaving that aside. I really want the MCU X-Men Part 1 to NOT include Wolverine in it at all. Maybe Laura X-23. But not Wolverine. I think Wolverine should become a part of the team from the second film - so that the audience is allowed to see how great an X-MEN film can be w/out Wolverine & then get him back - so that now the X-MEN are full team. Because no matter what anyone says, the X-MEN are never FULL, or say WHOLE w/out Wolverine. He is one of the most important part of the team, alongside Storm, Jean, Cyclops & Professor X. But yeah, nothing's in our hands. All we can do is hope. Let's see ...
@@galosniper7010 I consider First Class a great movie, but TBH, it's not really THE X MEN YK. I mean it's more of a story covering the OG conflict & relation b/w Professor & Magneto than X-MEN. It doesn't have Jean or Cyclops or even Ice Man or Angel, I mean they are the CLASSIC team. Nevertheless, if an example has to be given, then I think X-Men Apocalypse is a great example at how to handle an X-Men film without Wolverine (I mean, he did have a cameo but that doesn't count). But even w/ that film, Cyclops really seems like a novice and a side-character. Now, we need an authentic interpretation w/ Cyclops in the forefront, handling the team, spearheading the movie. Marvel will have to establish Cyclops as the main lead in the films b/c that hasn't ever been done so far in the movies.
It'd be so easy to incorporate his yellow and brown suit in a practical sense, too. Just make it so the cage match fights he's in all have outlandish and unique suits, and that's just the way the joint is run. Boom, easy explanation.
I’m 5’4.5” and making him 5’3” seems too silly. 5’6” to 5’8” would work just fine. Nobody takes Short Kings seriously. I just hope the X-Men and Wolverine get a great story and done right.
Agree with you on all the things! Short hairy king. Berserker/animalistic side. Mysterious/slowly reveal origin with clues. Not the protagonist: ensemble team member who slowly softens through relationships with other team members: Storm, Jean, Kitty... Hugh Jackman is great and I'll always love his Wolverine but I think the public is ready for a more comics accurate portrayal.
Things I want: Wolverine needs to be short like in the comics, but he can't be too lean. He must be very bulky. He should have the same physique as the Hulk, only shorter in height and much hairier. While I liked his costume in Deadpool & Wolverine, I prefer the version of the costume with trunks. Superhero movies these days tend to avoid trunks. Even Superman, perhaps the most recognisable superhero design with trunks, lost his during the awful Snyderverse. Thankfully, the new DCU Superman has his trunks, so that gives me hope the DCU Batman will probably have his trunks too. If all goes well, I'd like the MCU Wolverine to have his trunks as well. I want his history with Alpha Flight to be canon to the MCU. We don't need an origin film, but they should at least mention he was a part of the team before joining the X-Men. I'd also like it if they at least mention he fought the Hulk while working with Alpha Flight. On the topic of teams, he should be a member of both the X-Men and the Avengers. He has to be a father figure to Kitty Pryde, Jubilee, Rogue, X-23, and Black Widow (assuming they bring her back to life somehow). Wolverine needs to have history with Sabretooth. Sabretooth always tortures Logan every year on his birthday, so I want that to be shown here. His friendship to Nightcrawler and Colossus needs to be shown. We absolutely NEED the Fastball Special, especially if we're getting Wolverine and Colossus in their comic accurate heights. He needs to wear the cowl most of the time. It should only really be removed when he's out of the costume, which should be rare. He needs to call everyone bub. He needs to have his cigar and needs to drink often. Lastly, I hope they don't shy away from making him a tiny bit pathetic at times. He's a simp for Jean.
hugh jackman has made a connection with all the fans . The way he plays Wolverine can never be replaced by any actor out there .Cuz we are connected to the xmen that we cant even imagine another actor playing wolverine. So please hope that Hugh Jackman will play wolverine in the future.
6:23 is such a bad take, his origin is not uninteresting at all, don't think they should re tell his origns and the X-Men origins film was bad but saying his origins are the most uninteresting about him is diabolical 😂But agreed it is unnecessary too retell
MY pick for Wolverine? Jon Bernthal. "Oh he's the Punisher" They'll reboot MCU, won't they? If Hugh Jackman will be replaced, so will Punisher. Simple as that, people will just have to come around it. "Oh why him?" He's a tremendous actor, from his facial expressions to his voice. He can both give the light uncle Logan tone for X-Men AND the dark berserker barrage tone for Wolverine. Perfect acting for the role. "Oh but what about his looks?" He's fairly short. Definitely shorter than Hugh Jackman. He's got a great build and he can also bulk up if necessary. He also got the mean ugly look Wolverine is meant to have. "Oh and you think he'll be cast?" Probably not because he's very serious about his demands, just look how long it took to bring him back as Punisher. They won't want to deal with that. "Oh but what about other actors?" Saddly, Marvel and Disney will pick one of them because they'll sell more for being tall and handsome like Hugh Jackman.
The best person would have been Jon Bernthal but he’s obviously is the Punisher I feel like Jon could have played the more lead character from X-Men TAS or taken a secondary/mentor role like X-Men Evolution
Laura makes the most sense to carry on the character into the new saga of the MCU. She's perfect in the role and has the support from the fans to keep going as the character. Logan was great, but we're in the age of Laura now!
She isn’t Wolverine. She’s X-23 and they are two completely separate characters that are different. There are tons of people who are ready to move on from Hugh and have a new guy take the mantle to Logan.
@@ZekeorSomething I was thinking it could maybe happen earlier since this Laura never grew up with the X Men but nobody really knows what's gonna happen at this point

just because we are interested in seeing what a short wolverine would look like doesnt mean we dont appreciate hugh jackman....tf are you talking about.
I don't see much problem with the current version of wolverine and many people love him. Not everything has to be comic accurate I mean c'mon this is a cinematic universe
Exactly, if you nitpick one thing you're going to have to nitpick everything with all the other characters. I mean Patrick Stewart really didn't need a wheelchair in real life. Also question some of the redheads in the movies, they kind of look bottled red and not natural.
I don't think it matters if a live action Wolverine is short. Bats are small but no one cares about Batman being huge. And he's not even really being drawn as short in comics. Just because his code name is Wolverine doesn't mean he has to be short. Hugh Jackman is proof of that. The actor has to be able to give off that gruff dangerous but has a heart of gold vibe and Hugh Jackman did that perfectly.
I don't really mind who plays Logan as long as they get the character right and aren't especially tall. Wolverine's height is a pretty substantial part of his identity, he's supposed to be this short, nasty dude who hits way harder than someone his size should. Much like an actual wolverine. He doesn't have to be 5'3, I would be fine if he was just visibly shorter than the other X-Men.
I think the actual actor that did the body of "Short King" Wolverine would do a wonderful physical representation, I haven't seen his acting chops, but he definitely has the look. I personally like the idea of X-23 with the X-Men, and Logan being gone, maybe the coated in adamantium run, and save his return for an after credits as Patch for an X-23/Kitty team up where they both are tracking him down between first and second X-Men films, getting to discuss their experiences with Logan, Kitty having more of course, Laura maybe not having as many, if not her being Dafne's OG character universe displaced after Secret Wars, and bring him home in time for Marvel's X-2. It offer's some great comic tie ins, allowing his complicated character his own film to show his past with existing characters, and we can keep the focus of Marvel's X-1 on Cyclops and the rest of the team, while still building on them and Wolverine's history in his own film with a few flashbacks for setting the tone of how they each personally deal with his grizzeled demeanor, and their personal relationships. As far as what Marvel will do, it will probably be another Dark Phoenix Saga, as they can't seem to get away from it. Although I much prefer Scott's character development after Jean, when he's with Emma, and wouldn't mind seeing that on screen instead, let's change it up I've seen the Phoenix Saga soooo many times since I was 6 years old, comics, original 97 run, and both movie runs just as popular versions of the media.💯
I think you’re speaking way too soon when literally Hugh Jackman’s gonna be in part of more MCU projects as wolverine in the future, especially in secret wars, and doomsday you’re literally thinking that we are gonna going to have an MCU wolverine probably until until the MCU ends for the next MCU 2 where they start all over in this time and since now Disney has the rights for the X-Men in fantastic four they can make up movies here and there set up the entire genre, but but they’re not gonna replace Hugh Jackman not yet when literally he’s gonna be in doomsday and secret wars
Deadpool 3 didn’t give X23 a send off. She ended up in Deadpool’s universe and will be with around Wolverine and Deadpool. She’s most definitely going to return, otherwise they would’ve killed her off in the void.
I’m also a fan of the Radcliffe fan cast. I don’t know if I’d want Wolverine to show up immediately because I’d like to see some X-Men that haven’t been as prominent in the movies to show up first. He definitely should show up eventually, though.
Dude, Hugh Jackman is going to continue in the NCU until secret wars, and afterwards we’re going to be rebooting starting entire MCU all over again for a new generation audience so they can start all over and basically have the avengers the X-Men and the fantastic four in the same universe
honestly i think bill skarzgard could be a crazy wolverine. think of his presance in it just a seemingly mindless killing machine who is far more intelligent than he seems.

I hope they don’t ever go with this idea at all. Sorry that shit is gonna look corny in live action. He doesn’t need to be almost 5 feet tall for y’all to enjoy the damn film. Everything doesn’t need to be comic accurate. Just let him be 5”8 and stop the meaningless complaints. He doesn’t have to be 6 feet but he damn sure doesn’t really need to be 5”3 either. It doesn’t do anything for the character forreal, he’d still be an angry loner either way.
I honestly prefer if Wolverine may have a temper, cause y'know, he's old, killed many, lost his memories, been a Bio-Weapon, and seen the worst of Humanity but does his best to not give in to hating Humanity... But I don't like the idea of Wolverine being Animalistic. I feel like Wolverine being Animalistic would come off like People are right to be scared of Mutants, thinking how they're like a bomb ready to go off and kill everyone. Wolverine having a Temper, being called Wolverine as an insult because of his height, his hairiness, his attitude, etc. is better! That he's a normal person, and the suffering he has gone through is something that could've happen to anyone. In conclusion, it's better if he has a Temper, Short, Hairy, etc. called Wolverine as an insult, evolves with it. It's so it can be that Mutants are like Humans, just suffering from circumstance, than to make Wolverine absolutely Animalistic.
Emile Hirsch ▪︎ He's only 5ft7 and he's a great actor (see ''Lone Survivor'') ▪︎ he's young enough (38 years old), so he can do a bunch of movies in the MCU ... Gael García Bernal (5ft7) would be another interesting choice Taron Egerton and Milo Gibson are good choices too
Dude, get real we’re going to have Hugh Jackman‘s wolverine until the end till the end of the MCU you’re talking about ideas for a wolverine will be the day when the MCU is rebooting and that will be a long time. Hugh Jackman’s gonna be staying as Wolverine until till the final MCU film, and that is secret wars.
If we get Hugh Jackman and Dafne Keen back in their roles, it should absolutely NOT be MCU. Sorry, but what made them so good was because they were their own thing, we don't need them in the MCU. I don't want to see these 2 great actors dragged through the whole Marvel Disney mess. I do want to see Laura back, Dafne is perfect to play THE X-23 we've been waiting for since her first appearance ever in 'X-Men - Evolution', she absolutely deserves her own movie, BUT I want to see her on her own story in that old universe. Yeah, I want to see a 'Logan' sequel, years after she lost her father and living on as she grew up. The same about Tatum Gambit, I want to see him in that universe, NOT MCU. No, I don't want this to be some audition to get her in the MCU, I want it to be HER movie and THAT'S IT. The movie over, the story is done. Let MCU do its own version and the actors move on.
Im so against the whole, "he needs to be short" thing, that is so unbelievably unimportant to his character that it bothers me how many ppl care abt it so much
Someone here said, "If height doesn't matter for a character, would you like it if Thor was played by an actor who was 5'5' instead of by Chris Hemsworth?"
@lowman9387 Even 1.85m tall Henry Cavill looked so much bigger than Jackman, despite the latter only being 3cm taller (nothing against Jackman, wish I had a body like him lol). The taller you are, the more difficult it gets to put on muscle. Only a very small handful of people have the genetics for both.
One of the most underrated depictions of the X-MEN is xmen evolution. I really like how they made wolverine a mentor figure for a young scott summers and jean grey and he was present, but didn’t steal the show away from the main characters. I also really enjoyed how the show played with the xmen and brotherhood teaming up from time to time because of the fact that both sides are working to make mutants an accepted group, one just wants mutants to rule while the other wants mutants to be equal. I think one of the most difficult things the MCU is going to have to do is properly explore the world of mutants fully including all of the factions and stories. It definitely makes me worried that the MCU is going to sideline a team in order to focus more on mutants since they already did that with the inhumans.
It's not about representation, it's about embracing the insanity of the comics
its not about short people respresentation..we dont care if you feel represented. but theres nothing wrong with us wanting to see a short wolverine just to see an accurate version
ppl love the original character. hugh plays him well but it changes the original character. cant beat the originals

Hollywood and the beauty industry, my man. Both have ruined people's perception of reality.
They're so afraid of Wolverine being cast with a short actor, its hilarious haha. These people must have forgotten that Tom Holland is literally 5'6 and playing Spider-Man. Jackie Earle Haley is literally 5'5 and played Rorschach, who was everyone's favorite character in the Watchmen movie.
I hated how the fox movies handled that love triangle so they REALLY need to nail that
@@WholeShebangYT Not only that, but also Logan relationship with the other X-men.
They've already explored that love triangle enough; it should be kept to small doses.
I always thought so too. His powerful but squat structure makes him more animal like, in particular a wolverine or badger
In a dream world we would get atleast 2 Wolverine origin movies and a alpha flight movie with him before he appears in the X-men

An Alpha Flight TV series would be a great alternative to another Wolverine origin movie. It's something Disney+ could consider developing.

I think the people who are strongly opposed to a hypothetical short Wolverine only know Jackman's portrayal and are unfamiliar with the source material.

Hell they shown they can still pick fresh faces recently with the miss marvel casting, not only was iman vellani the perfect age and ethnicity she wasn’t even an actor(but clearly talented) and was already a hugh comic fan and fan of the character. The new actor for Wolverine doesn’t need to be someone who is famous and is barely below average height, get someone accurate who can act they have the money and resources(there DISNEY) it wouldn’t be hard
The most important aspect is the quality of the acting. If he's short even better, but it's not the most important thing. I agree on the brown uniform!
Comic accurate Wolverine height would be great, but he definitly wouldn't be a lead character. He'd be Hawkeye/Black Widow/ Vision level character
@@venom999333 not if it is handled right.
@@vengeanceconscious9774I just don’t see them prioritizing height as a casting decision for Wolverine considering the mass majority of people don’t even know that Wolverine is supposed to be short to begin with.
??????
With a character like Logan, how can you NOT make him the lead?
@@SonicXtreme99akaCreeperMario
Cause he was never made to be a lead to begin with. The movies are what made him a lead.
I also usually think Logan's brown and yellow suit is usually better than his blue and yellow suit. I gained more love for the latter, and I still love both suits.
I think 5'3" is just too short ...they should aim for 5'7"-5'9"
they should make him 4'11
Why? There are lots of short male actors that are great at their roles
@@anotherway6427bc its lowkey goofy. I was like that in early years of high school bro wolverine shouldnt be the height of a highschooler who hasnt hit puberty
@@gr3saeyend So you’re dogging on people for something they can’t control, yet for decades have performed just as well in cinema/theater as their taller colleagues, because it seems goofy to you… PERFECTLY RATIONAL and not at all dickish:). If you have a personal preference for a taller wolverine actor that is fine, but to indicate that smaller guys can’t play impressive or thrilling action packed roles due to them being smaller is simply wrong and sad.
@@anotherway6427 yea it is pretty goofy mate I’m not saying he cant be 5’8 or around there I’m saying 5’3 is way too small and literally the size of a middle schooler like idk how im supposed to take that srsly when hes being idle 😭
I think it should be short for the sake of the actual animal its based on. Aka a wolverine. Its small , ferocious and very resilient.
Yeah, I think the MCU Wolverine should be anywhere from 5’3” to 5’8”. I will admit 5’8” is a decent bit taller than comic book Wolverine but it’s closer in terms of accuracy than say 6’2”.
@@eldragon57 yeah agreed the small dude they used in DP and wolverine was confirmed to be 4'11. 5'3 would work imp because its not that bad.
That actor who played the gypsy leader in the Gentleman...he gave off HEAVY wolverine vibes. And he was a short, stocky and rugged looking guy
the point I agree with most is the one about the brown suit. MAAAAN that's like his best suit next to the force suit.
The audience already knows we can have a great X-men movie without Wolverine, we have First Class
MILO GIBSON AS WOLVERINE
Agree with you on all the things! Short hairy king. Berserker/animalistic side. Mysterious/slowly reveal origin with clues. Not the protagonist: ensemble team member who slowly softens through relationships with other team members: Storm, Jean, Kitty... Hugh Jackman is great and I'll always love his Wolverine but I think the public is ready for a more comics accurate portrayal.
Things I want:
Wolverine needs to be short like in the comics, but he can't be too lean.
Hey do you wanna just run this channel now bc my god you’re cooking better than I ever could, this is Wolverine right here I need it ALL
hugh jackman has made a connection with all the fans .
"Oh he's the Punisher"
They'll reboot MCU, won't they? If Hugh Jackman will be replaced, so will Punisher. Simple as that, people will just have to come around it.
"Oh why him?"
He's a tremendous actor, from his facial expressions to his voice. He can both give the light uncle Logan tone for X-Men AND the dark berserker barrage tone for Wolverine. Perfect acting for the role.
"Oh but what about his looks?"
He's fairly short. Definitely shorter than Hugh Jackman. He's got a great build and he can also bulk up if necessary. He also got the mean ugly look Wolverine is meant to have.
"Oh and you think he'll be cast?"
Probably not because he's very serious about his demands, just look how long it took to bring him back as Punisher. They won't want to deal with that.
"Oh but what about other actors?"
Saddly, Marvel and Disney will pick one of them because they'll sell more for being tall and handsome like Hugh Jackman.
The best person would have been Jon Bernthal but he’s obviously is the Punisher
I feel like Jon could have played the more lead character from X-Men TAS or taken a secondary/mentor role like X-Men Evolution
Radcliffe does NOT have the right proportions lmao. With his clothes on you'd have absolutely no idea he's muscular at all
Am I the only one who dosent want to see him short ? I get it’s comic accurate but I think it’s just like goofy on the big screen
@@ZekeorSomething you've clearly never read All New Wolverine or any other comic with Laura as Wolverine
@@samdipiazza3472 I know she's gets the mantel. Key difference is that's after years of build up with Laura not from the very beginning.
@@ZekeorSomething I was thinking it could maybe happen earlier since this Laura never grew up with the X Men but nobody really knows what's gonna happen at this point
Get Jared Keeso or Milo Gibson to play the MCU Wolverine
Idk why but i want to see wolvarine suit made out leather so badly
You people need to get a life. Where is your appreciation for what Hugh Jackman has done with the character?? He gave the first Oscar worthy performance as a superhero in Logan
just because we are interested in seeing what a short wolverine would look like doesnt mean we dont appreciate hugh jackman....tf are you talking about.
It would be funny if Cavil played Wolverine fully after making a cameo in DP&W. But of course that’s not gonna happen.
hugh is already comic accurate
blud is so blinded by fanatism
I don't think it matters if a live action Wolverine is short. Bats are small but no one cares about Batman being huge. And he's not even really being drawn as short in comics. Just because his code name is Wolverine doesn't mean he has to be short. Hugh Jackman is proof of that. The actor has to be able to give off that gruff dangerous but has a heart of gold vibe and Hugh Jackman did that perfectly.
Wolverine being short is important because Logan looks a wild animal attacking his enemies.
@@petermj1098 Yeah plus you can’t really have Sabertooth calling him “runt” (which is ICONIC) if Wolverine is 6’2”…
Yeah, because bat’s height ain’t apart of character
I don't really mind who plays Logan as long as they get the character right and aren't especially tall. Wolverine's height is a pretty substantial part of his identity, he's supposed to be this short, nasty dude who hits way harder than someone his size should. Much like an actual wolverine. He doesn't have to be 5'3, I would be fine if he was just visibly shorter than the other X-Men.
There is a lot of nitpicking and hair splitting this video.
Although I much prefer Scott's character development after Jean, when he's with Emma, and wouldn't mind seeing that on screen instead, let's change it up I've seen the Phoenix Saga soooo many times since I was 6 years old, comics, original 97 run, and both movie runs just as popular versions of the media.💯
wolverine (logan) (Hugh Jackman) retire from the title but still serve as a mentor for X-23 as the new wolverine
I agree with everything you said except for a short Wolverine. No! Just give us the best man for the job.
Bold of you to assume that wolverine ISNT attractive.
CONVENIENTLY is the keyword bc even the short Wolverine… I see the vision
Deadpool 3 didn’t give X23 a send off. She ended up in Deadpool’s universe and will be with around Wolverine and Deadpool. She’s most definitely going to return, otherwise they would’ve killed her off in the void.
I would really love to see dafene keen Laura x23 return in another movie because that would be really awesome and badass.
Taron Egerton 5,9
Jeremy Allen 5'7
Luke Hemsworth 5'7
Zac Efron 5'8
Josh Hutcherson 5'5
Josh is a name I haven’t heard yet but now I kinda love it
@@WholeShebangYT the actors I’d probably be okay with are
- Jared Keeso (he’s actually Canadian)
- Milo Gibson (probably would make the most accurate looking Wolverine)
- Zac Efron (he’s not a pretty boy anymore)
- Daniel Radcliffe (he’s absolutely ripped, can play feral and is almost the right height)
- Scott Eastwood
- and MAYBE Henry Cavill BUT if he was made to look a little shorter or they got Jacob Elordi or Wolfgang Novogratz to play Cyclops to make him look shorter
**BUT BUT BUT -- if you make him short like this, you're discriminating tall/er people costuming him generally now**
By being comic accurate and representing short people????
@@SonicXtreme99akaCreeperMario That's the joke.
They need to make Wolverine ahort as much as they need to give Deadpool his raspy voice.
Daniel Radcliffe is my favorite choice
nah they should reboot the universe after secret wars and introduce the new logan in a wolverine vs hulk movie
We need hugh as old man logan, and whoever the MCU picks (hopefully caville) for their own, native version of wolverine.
It would be interesting if they find someone 4 feet tall or whatever Wolverine’s height is to play a comic accurate version of Wolverine.
Emile Hirsch
▪︎ He's only 5ft7 and he's a great actor (see ''Lone Survivor'')
▪︎ he's young enough (38 years old), so he can do a bunch of movies in the MCU
...
Gael García Bernal (5ft7) would be another interesting choice
Taron Egerton and Milo Gibson are good choices too
Dude, get real we’re going to have Hugh Jackman‘s wolverine until the end till the end of the MCU you’re talking about ideas for a wolverine will be the day when the MCU is rebooting and that will be a long time. Hugh Jackman’s gonna be staying as Wolverine until till the final MCU film, and that is secret wars.
isnt that what were talking about.....no duh hugh is gonna be around but were talking about when they restart the x men.
The MCU should bring in Cyber and Omega Red!
There should be a solo Wolverine project after the first X-Men movie and then he should appear in the second X-Men movie
He doesn't have to be very short, I just want him to be taller than Jean but a little bit shorter than Gambit.
3:43 some one short
No! Don't make him short, Leave it at Hugh Jackman's height.
Look up online...a 5 ft 3" 185 lbs bodybuilders... look better than Jackman ever did. Those guys are huge...a real comic book version.
Yes but do you think would be able to find one that's an actor?
@@JohnJacobSchmidtt Fair point.
Hugh Jackman is more of a lean, muscular physique compared to Comic wolverine who looks like he eats steroids for breakfast.
