I just did this today. I am actually super surprized it work. Not only did it fill the chip crack, but you can barely even see it was there! I thought I'd be paying $300 for a new windshield on the daily beater... glad this actually worked! w00t w00t!
I regret getting it done by a professional that cost me 250 dollars and needed my car for 3 hours. Doesn't look better than what I see in this video. Nice Job !!
I had one repaired professionally in Florida because our auto inurance has zaeo deductible for windshiel repair or replacement. Repair had a lifetime guarantee. Procedure was very similar to yours, except they used a cigarette lighter applied to the inside of the windshield ro create more suction.
I had a rock chip fixed by a glass company and my insurance covered it as well, when I switched insurance a year or so later that glass repair counted as a claim and my rate was impacted…point being nothing is free, and now I will just fix it myself.
This came out really good. I've seen this before but I went to the shop that replaced my windshield last year after getting a minor chip driving on the highway today. Mine wasn't as bad as this but came out pretty good also. They charged me $60 which I guess is pretty reasonable. He said their is a 95% chance it will not spread come Winter time. I sure hope he's right!
I believe in fate. I was just thinking of my windshield today and did not want to have a buy a whole new one because of a crack. Now, I am happy to try this. BTW, I see you have come a long way in your channel. Great work.
I actually had that happen but it literally poked a hole in the windshield and had to replace it. I didn’t turn in an insurance claim. The cost to fix it by paying myself was basically what my deductible was, $250. This was about 10 years ago, probably more like $400-$450 now.
Actually quite dangerous. Even small "fractures" like this can cause massive tension and destabilization to your windscreen. But hey... looks better atleaast.

Yup, I would never go through insurance. A claim is a claim, and that's how they justify rate increases!
@@jcman240 exactly. insurance companies are frauds.
Finally did mine right now. Now i have to wait an hour. It looks a lil better already. Thanks

This makes me appreciate my insurance covering someone else doing all this work for me

How has this held up over time? Any crack expansion?
Nice repair
Great content 👍
This kit looks like it works better than the rain x one. And it’s slightly cheaper.
I just ordered one off Amazon and I'll do the deed and update my comment afterwards.
And the result?!
wow amazing job.
This is good to know!
Very cool. I heard an urban legend that you shouldn't treat repaired windows w/ Rain-X. Any idea if it's a myth?
Nice 👍
Big Window hates this 1 simple hack!
ha, big window. Nice.
I bet you could had said, a tree branch hit the car window, I am glad the windshield was restored back to previous condition.

I give you another comment!

So I suppose you just recommend replacing the windshield all together, and not do a repair?
@@joshuayagow4265 I bet he is in the windshield bussiness.
I did a nice repair myself for $10. My neighbor replaced his for $1000 ! I like my fix better.@@joshuayagow4265
Just repeating the propaganda of Big Window
