I am stuck on a popup screen where it can not complete the windows 8 installation and restart the computer. No matter what you do it come to that popup. Now I have to reboot with a reboot able usb. Do I still need a product key? Or if I use one here in these comments, will it work? what are the implications?

You will need to go into your BIOS and change boot order so that the first thing your system boots to is the USB drive.
