Espire 1 VR Operative PSVR Review: 7 Months Later..Did they Fix it?

- Blending the tactical precision of modern stealth titles with the unprecedented immersion of VR, Espire 1: VR Operative drafts players as drone operators of the future. Players become “Espire Agents” and use cutting edge Virtual Reality hardware to remote-operate the Espire model 1 from the safety of their “Control Theatre.” Commonly hyped as Metal Gear Solid for VR, these lofty expectations fell quite short when Espire 1 launched in November of last year, especially with the PSVR version. A lot has been done to give PSVR headsets the game they hoped for. Stay tuned as I strip it down 7 months later and see if this is now ready for your dollars.

I was very interested in Espire1 since it was launched, but then I saw many bad references in reviews so I decided to wait until it was fixed. A few months ago I bought it on a sale, but I kept waiting to play a fixed experience... perhaps now is the right time :)

Hey Chris..imo it's gotten much better since launch day..I recently played it a cpl days ago and was having a pretty fun time..besides sound design which needs some.def improvement the 3D audio is not working at all
Sounds like a solid cop for what it is
I wish there was more gore I got this game in the bundle but more gore and more physics would be a great feature
Anyone have the problem where if your climbing the game might send you above the map and because of it I haven’t even got past the first mission because I have to restart all over again
Looks and sounds like a solid game,I hope I can get back to work here pretty soon so I can start buying games again..so many great looking PS4 and PSVR games out or coming out soon that I hope to add to my collection in a bad way

Might pick this up in the Steam sale now. I was disappointed to hear it was a turd when it launched
Great review. 😁 What was the issue with the Last of us 2? I’ve played it and finished it. I thought it was pretty amazing.

The Last of Us 2 is great but also really depressing surely not a game for everyone.

and from the visuals you present it looks like they removed pixel shader effects , shadows and mushed those textures ....

The PC version is the best one ... you have to take in consideration one thing , when you develop PSVR games , your forced to support all models ... in some cases the visual quality is jarring , since on the base PS4 most VR games run in 720p-ish , on pro in 1080p-ish ... you see it , and feel it ... since some run smoother and have higher LOD then on the base model ... lets only hope on PS5 all games from PS4 PSVR will run smooth ...

I absolutely can't stand the Move controllers. Movement with these things is stupid and I'm not going to spend time trying to adapt to it when Move 2.0 will have sticks rendering this new muscle memory obsolete. Too many games have suffered due to the lack of sticks. Unfortunately I'm missing out on some what would otherwise be a fantastic game to those that have adapted over time. I'm an old dude with a hard head, but with the foresight to know that I won't have to deal with it much longer. I hope a lot of these older games get a Move 2.0 update.

Have you played saints and sinners? The movement isn't that bad, it's not perfect but it's manageable and doesn't take long to get used to.
I was like that, then I got saints and sinners and just got used to it and it made me realise I was being an idiot and denying myself a large chunk of psvr. They are worth getting used to.
Can it be played with Dualshock?
