This is exactly what I was hoping for with Mind Labyrinth VR. I said it before that some of these experiences aren't needed when full games deliver it better, AND it's cheaper! Great Review! Can't wait to take that first virtual step onto that beach! :) Meow!
There should be a standard for button layout across psvr games. I think every game should have the same controls as skyrim vr on the move controllers.
it's not hard for these devs to comprehend is it? i'm used to skyrim's move controllers and it's baffling that other devs can't use the same controls!
Thank you so much Bryan! This is one I so very much wanted to be good. As soon as I saw it released on sale in the store, I immediately added it to my cart. But I wasn't going to pull the trigger until I saw your review. Deep down I was worried this would turn out to be another 'Obduction'. After seeing the first 30 seconds of your review, with the full locomotion and smooth turning, I knew immediately it would be a winner.

I couldn't stop playing this game! It's beautiful, fun, well designed, has a great soundtrack, and it's just amazing. It might just be my favorite puzzle game (still not sure if I like it more than Statik)

@@WithoutParole Eden Tomorrow looked like it would be great, but I had a gut feeling that there would be no real variety and it would be the same dingy brown caves for the entire game. We'll see.

The Move controls are actually similar to Loading Human, with a bit of Solus Project in that the left wand will track in the direction you point at. Coming off of those games, I felt right at home with the navigation, and the extra Jump Assist option adds to the convenience. Granted, they could've added a control tutorial at the beginning like Loading Human did to help ease newcomers' frustrations, but it's worth taking the time to acclimate to them because it does enhance the immersion once you do.

It looks really interesting & I think I need to get it but this is why I have so many half completed games. I'm a couple of hours Into The Mages Tale, an hour into Eden Tomorrow and I know full well I'll have to have a quick look & see what this is like 😂

Great review! May be a day 1 purchase for me, these devs seem to deserve the support, what a great price! My only hesitation is the Move implementation. Hopefully they get that sorted out.
Great review! I've always wanted this game and you may have nudged me over the edge. I wonder if they will ever get The Talos Project working on PSVR. They seem like they would be very comparable :)

After seeing midnight gamecast and this review I couldn't ressist anymore and bought it :-) For that price it's a steal. In the EU store it is not under VR but you have to search for it. Great review again Bryan.

I own basically every PSVR game both good and bad, after spending only a few hours in this game so far I can already say this game (after the smooth turn/locomotion patch with the moves) is definitely in my top 15, if not my top 10 best PSVR games. Then I learn this game was created by 3 people!!! I never would have guessed that. This game has amazing graphics and is so immersive. Even after having VR over two years I still kept stopping to admire the scenery. This game looks that good. The puzzles are great and in my opinion have the correct difficulty level to them. Amazing job, amazing game. Deff a must own for psvr players regardless of your fav game type.
This is a great channel!! I have watched many videos, and all are great. I think the focus should be on all VR games, and not PlayStation exclusive. I think it would increase overall popularity (which is well deserved) and keep the channel relevant in the long run
Thanks James! I’d love to cover everything VR but ultimately I’m just one guy who can barely keep up with PSVR as it is. Maybe some day (if the channel ever makes any money) we can expand. But from the looks of it that won’t be anytime soon.

So glad this came out, loving it so far but for the first time may have to turn the comfort settings up. Having some motion sickness that ove not delt with in any other game. May just be the heat or the fact I havent played vr in a while.

Wonder what was the problem with the Move controlers? I'd rather use them instead of DS4.
No problem with the Moves at all, but as I stated in the review the button layout is strange and the turning mechanic is basically “point and click.” Totally worth getting used to. :D

i've played it so far and it's good, only gripes are the move controls which he mentioned, hurts your wrist flicking to turn everytime and having to use both hands to move forward and jump on 1 move controller is annoying, and i would really would like a button combination to walk faster, it gets tiring traversing from 1 point to another with large areas and slow walking.
btw can you quit and save mid level and come back to continue where you left off earlier? i didn't try while i was playing but would be helpful as i play in short bursts.
graphics are nice on a pro and the puzzles are decent enough, not too hard, price was decent enough too.

I'm curious, I've heard people pronounce it "zing" BUT what if the X is meant to be pronounced as cross, thereby making the game called "crossing" - it would make sense as it takes place in the afterlife.
This was a conversation we had back when we first watched the trailer on PSVR Theater (ahh, the good old days.)
And I emailed the developers who confirmed that, although it's pronounced ZING, there's a double meaning. "Crossing" is implied for the reasons you listed. :D

This one would have been an easy buy for me but the trouble with the move controllers puts me off.
You people that say this game is boring cannot relate to spirituality,this game is way more than just a puzzle game if you just relax and soak it in,I'm playing this on a very high end pc with the cv1 rift and it is epic,I sat in a thunderstorm at night in ancient ruins and it was thought and feeling evoking,this should be a reference experience for VR, too bad the gaming world has to be full of mindless horror and violence,we need more of this.... I've played this on psvr also and it is good but you are truly missing out on the graphics without a high end cpu and gpu, I can sit and look at life like ferns all day long LOL

I was sick for almost 5 days last week with a stomach bug (which oddly enough gave me motion sickness when playing VR games.) I'm better now but I wanted to get this week's games out of the way and then finish up the last few hours of The Mage's Tale a little later in the week. So short answer - you're getting a review. It's just going to be late, unfortunately.

This is why it's important to watch these reviews. Full locomotion on the 'moves' is still a little frustrating on some games. In my opinion, rec room beta is ALMOST as flawless as it gets. If the had a reverse button like skyrim (so u can dual wield while backing up) While doom VR is just rough with the teleport/quick movement it's almost unplayable, until you get used to it. We need a universal control scheme for the move controllers.
i have a question im having a problem with the game i cant play it i am stuck on the screen that says press any button to continue and i press any buttons on the playstation controller and nothing happens do you know if i have to use the psmove controllers also i am using the VR .
Is it pronounced “Zing” or Cross( X)-ing?

I don’t see why everyone loves this. Looks nice but doesn’t look amazing. Background looks beautiful but doesn’t look like a game I’d spend money on and play long enough to get money’s worth

Give it a few more minutes - the PlayStation Store isn't updating properly here in the States either. XING is there but unavailable to purchase - though we do know it's going to cost $19.99 with a 25% discount for Plus members. :D

What does the "graphics" in the settings do??? I click on it but nothing happens.
Try it in non-VR mode. I'm on the Pro and it allows me to choose between Detail and Framerate
@@WithoutParole Ok Thanks. I have a pro also and I was hoping it was to boost the graphics in VR mode. So far Im on the 2nd level (jungle tribal level) and I like it better then the beach levels. I have zero interest in playing on the flat boring TV. A game like this definitely cooler in VR. Actually all games better in VR.
yeah it seems that setting only works in non vr mode which is a shame.

No smooth turn with Moves? Why are game devs so dumb?
Or Sony limitations, but yeah as soon as I heard that I rolled my eyes bc I was almost expecting it. The whole reason to use the shitty move controllers is to add to immersion. Nothing breaks it like click turn Atleast it’s not teleportation and forced blinders. I’m hoping for THE OPTION to use smooth move ASAP bc I’m buying this game and want the best it can offer. OPTIONS DEVS OPTIONS please. But before I call them dumb, I think back to hearing other devs saying Sony has great input on these damn comfort settings.
@@justinperrotta2701 Sony seems to make inconsistent decisions. I believe there's a horror game out there where the devs are forced by Sony to allow no option to remove blinders. They actually post about it on their site I believe.

I was so happy about this review that I went and bought the game straight away. It looks honestly very unfinished to me. I keep on getting stuck into polygons, end up in mountains, lakes and have to restart the game to get out of there. The sand texture is very low quality (you can see the squares of pattern one next to the other). Moving with the PS Move is super complicated (especially turning around) and when you jump on a little island, you always end up inside or under it. Gotta say, for a game that's supposed to relax me, it had quite the opposite effect, and as I already played it, I can't get a refund. 🤷♂️
Who knows, maybe they will fix it in a couple of weeks and I will be able to give it another try.
Wow I'm really sorry to hear that. Neither Dez or I experienced any of the issues you're having and the Move controls have been updated since launch for a more traditional control scheme and there's already been 3 patches since Tuesday. If you're on the Pro make sure Supersampling and Boost Mode are (always) turned off. Otherwise, I'm not sure how to help... Let me know if the issues get resolved.
@@WithoutParole hi there! Thanks for your reply. I had an update of the game last week and finally had the chance to try it again yesterday and I gotta say it's much, much better! I don't get stuck into polygons anymore, I don't jump into things and moving is much smoother. I also don't see the texture in the sand as I used to.

This or mages tale?
It's tough to compare the two. I liked XING better, but The Mage's Tale has a lot going for it too - spell crafting, environmental puzzles, enemies to fight. It seems like the overall quality/length of PSVR games is slowly going up. :D

i just purchased this yesterday via psn expecting the graphics in vr to look as great as it does here and was completely wrong. it was such horrible quality in the headset!!! blurry, difficult reading any of the words, it was like playing a ps1 game in the vr headset and then looks like a ps4 game on the tv, is there some settings that i need to fix for this game? why is this game so horrible for me but looks like great quality here? please help!
The PlayStation 4 Pro definitely helps with the detail and resolution of XING's graphics considerably, so it's worth upgrading if you have the means. The other part of the equation is that for reviews I'm capturing footage from the social screen with a capture card, which always looks a bit better than what you see in the headset. The alternative is using the fish-eye 720/30 footage using the Share button that looks like pure garbage. I wish there was something that was a bit more accurate.
PSVR Without Parole true, i just use my brothers playstation; still debating on the slim or pro...but im going to wait on it until some better vr games come out and then just indulge! lol so the pro helps with the graphics within the vr headset? ive read that it only matters with a 4k tv, but if it does make a difference in the headset then i may have to definitely consider. i see that many have the graphics option in the setting of Xing and its completely dimmed out on mine, i cant even select it. would you by chance know why? did you have the same issue? (watched your video earlier cant recall) and thanks for your time btw! i definitely come to your video reviews before even deciding to purchase a vr game! lol so thank you for doing what you do!!
i was so disappointed with this game... like it is SO basic. Turn a switch on / walk somewhere / turn a dial on to affect something else. Like ok, i dont mind using my brain for gaming - but i got a PSVR to get immersed in a WORLD, not to play something like Tetris. I guess these puzzle games are just not for me. Lesson learned.
I like puzzle games but one of the cons should have been that this game is boring as fuck.
This looks so lame...walking around and solving puzzles...the first 10min is probably "wow it looks nice" but than you're stuck for 10hours of puzzles. We so need some good games with real good game mechanics. Not just the gimmick of vr exploited with boring childish gameplay. I really don't think we needed this, sorry.
