yeah and what's funny is that Galan Marek kills 3 of these rly rare Shadow Guards with minimal trouble. edit: I have now watched the video and stand corrected. Galan Marek DID have quite a bit of trouble with these guys actually.

The games itself were good, probably great if they were longer, but Starkiller was stupidly overpowered.

I would say the shadow guard would win against the royal guard. Let's not forget, during the final level of the Force unleashed(Depending on what console you were playing on at least.), in order to reach Vader and Palpatine, Galen Marek had to fight his way past 4 royal guards and 1 shadow guard, who was standing in the middle, at the same time. I think this perfectly demonstrates the difference in power level between the two guards.
Well, obviously. The Shadow Guards are always Force-sensitive, yet only a few of the Royal Guards were mildly sensitive.

Not only did the Shadow Guards are force sesentive,It it also one of the Elite Special Operations Unit among the Guard,Which they were more efficient in combat.
They were Senate guards and in the Wii version you fought the final one on Raxus Prime and Force Choked him into the molten metal Galen used to bring down the Star Destroyer
I remember fighting the shadow guard in Force Unleashed and it was spooky.

Ha! Darth Vader would always be my favorite boss on Sith Master difficulty, fighting him forced you to use strategy and allowed you to perform crazy attack patterns and combos.

Starkiller faces off against two Sith holograms, he fights a shadow guard instead of PROXY, some bosses could heal themselves, there were other force powers, you could even find different lightsaber HILTS!!

I would say the shadow guards; they're trained by darth vader, who has an experienced technique in high ground fighting style

A few things I feel should be addressed here, correct me if I'm wrong.
The _Imperial_ Shadow Guard was trained by Vader, yes, but make no mistake, they did not belong to him; they belonged to the Emperor just like the other guard units, acting as spies and assassins for him. The Emperor would not let Vader have his own unit to counterbalance the Emperor's Royal Guard, the _Imperial_ Shadow Guard was a subgroup of the Emperor's Royal Guard, sure they could accompany Vader if ordered to and often did, but they were not _his._ Just like the Emperor's Royal Guard, they would only follow Vader's commands if the Emperor ordered them to.
Second, as far as I know, they were only known to use lightsaber pikes, not regular lightsabers, that sounds more like the saber guards. Vader didn't deploy them to capture starkiller, the Emperor deployed them to _kill starkiller._
The _Imperial_ Shadow Guards were _not_ primarily tasked to guard places like the Jedi temple, that sounds more like the Imperial Senate Sentinels, the ones found in TFU _at the jedi temple_
Even starkiller refers to them as the "Emperor's Sith assassins" i.e. not Vader's.
Now to the big question, the obvious conclusion is that the _Imperial_ Shadow Guard would win, as they were force sensitive and trained in the force, as well as gifted lightsabers, however I've heard the force pikes the Emperor's Royal Guard use were made of phrik---a lightsaber resistant metal, but in 9 out of 10 cases the _Imperial_ Shadow Guard would win
Perhaps a video could be done to address these errors of fact? If not still a good video, just incorrect.

I have a Scar Wars Rebels theory, the attack on Lothal is going on, but the Rebels are losing due to Thrawn's advanced knowledge, so Ezra decides to change tactics and sacrifices himself to destroy the factory and allow the Rebels to continue the attack the factory, Ezra is thought dead and Kanan does everything to help the Rebels and survive since Ezra sacrificed himself and Kanan won't keep it useless, as the factory is destroyed, Vader arrives and takes the unconscious Ezra, we later see Ezra waking up in an Inquisitor costume, more of a cyborg costume where he would heal and get advanced abilities, Vader would use his knowledge to locate Kanan and Obi-Wan and destroy the Jedi survivors, however Ezra has memory problems and the dark side corrupted his mind to an extent where he could no longer think normally and has a thoughtless brain, he creates a group of Acolytes who support Vader, at the end of Rebels, Ezra and Kanan will both die in their final duel, I forgot to mention that Ezra might take the codename Starkiller when trained by Vader as a canon replacement for Galen Marek, the remaining Vader fanatics would go into exile when Palpatine would tell Vader to stop using Force sensitives, they return as the Knights of Ren and train new ones and call their super weapon Starkiller Base in honour of the one who created their organization

cept the Knights of Ren are pretty much the apprentices of Luke's Ben Solo didn't kill. they repeatedly say he killed them all, but he turned a group of them, and slaughtered the rest...but in dark side tradition, you kill the old you and are reborn in the dark side so as Obi-Wan said. it's true from a certain point of view. regardless, the KoR have a possible origin.

Despite the claims of the streength of the Royal Guard, reading the Lords of the Sith books as well as some of the comics indicate the Guard were relatively ineffective against Force Users and other random beasts. I suspect the Shadow Guard would win. What is more interesting is what happened to them after the death of the Emperor, and why none tried to either fill the void, or join the First Order... Unless some became Knights of Ren...

I would love to see a video on Kanan Jarrus's ties to Deba Billaba. If she was Mace Windu's apprentice, then Kanan follows a similar line of jedi to Yoda's line of Dooku, Qui-gon, Obi Wan, etc. I think it would be a neat opportunity to show people Kanan's real significance besides just being the "obligatory jedi" of the show, and it would be nice to get some deeper insight on Rebels characters as they're not often studied like TCW's were.

Should do a story on the Antarian Rangers. I think its long overdue that they be granted a role in either Battlefront 2 or a spin off, they were a diverse paramilitary force and how they've been overlooked for so long is beyond me.

defininantly the shadow guard i have played all star wars force unleashed games and i know how powerful galen merreck/ starkiller is he once pulled a star destroyer down with the force from the atmosphere of raxus prime in the junkyard covered surface if the shadow guards are proven a challange for him ,the shadow guard would crush the red guard without any problems

What if Obi Wan left the order for Satine
A fight between the Emperor's Imperial Guards versus Vader's Shadow Guards would depend on three factors:
1) How many of The Shadow Guards will turn against Vader? We do not know exactly how many Guards work for The Emperor and how many for Vader. I'm thinking the Emperor has more guards, maybe at least twice as much, not counting double agents. The number of Guards on each side may or may not be a factor.
2) How experienced are the Guards on each side on both an individual basis or as a team? How organized are the individual sides?
3) Would Vader and/or The Emperor would be present in the battle? If either one of them is present, that side would likely win, regardless of numbers.

hey, idea for a small Vs video. who would win in a lightsaber fight alone, Vader or palpatine. To clarify, both around the time after empire strikes back. palpatine has no tricks, like shutting down Vader's suit and force powers are limited to enhancing rather than lightening or chocking

Shadow Guards are my favorite troops in the Imperial forces. I also think a single Shadow Guard would beat a single Royal Guard 8/10 times due to their Force-abilities and light-pikes, with a Royal Guard only being able to win if he keeps the fight up close and attack the Shadow Guard's unarmored body parts.
They so need to be made canon or at least The Sun Guard.

Man, Legends was so dark. Now we’ve just got these weird looking Inquisitors.
I think it would be really cool to see the story of a Jedi who by some insane luck was able to become a shadow guard and yet conceal his plans to trick Vader into a false sense of security, and eventually assassinate him( never actually taking the chance however on several occasions, and witnessing the fall of the Empire at the hands of the rebellion). I know it would be neigh impossible for this to happen due to the criteria of the Shadow guards training, but it could make for some phenomenal story telling. And besides isn't that what STAR WARS is all about?.

Its not even a character from star wars. It's Isaac Clarke, from Electronic Art's series, Dead Space. Someone just made some fan art of him being a Jedi.
I think the question of royal guard vs shadow guard comes down whether or not the shadow guards were able to predict an opponents moves via force preconition as a jedi would be. As at least some shadow guards were former jedi and likely had some training in this abbility, I think most of These could beat a single royal guard.
