It's really cool how Isaac has more agency this time. It's not just Hammond saying "Isaac, go do this", it's Isaac taking initiative to go fix things and telling them to stay safe.
A sure buy for me. Isaac dialogue feels natural and so far dialogues at all are written well, no strange joking, just professionals ending up in a pretty unexpected situation trying to wrap their heads around it and survive.
Yeah, Gunner Wright's (Isaac's) delivery at the start is a little flat, considering what's going on (and this is his very first encounter with ever seeing a Necromorph). Something also seems "off" with the first scene where the Necromorphs appear behind the glass. It's too bright. In the original, it was much darker and you only saw brief flashes of the creature in the room beyond, which left more to the imagination. Also, the chase down the hallway and the time it takes to burst through the elevator doors - the timing seems off there. Also Isaac is just casually idling and breathing afterwards. No sense of panic whatsoever seeing a ghastly creature like that up-close for the first time.
A neat thing to notice is that at 17:04 when Isaac is shooting at the necro, the arm doesn't just fly off but instead you see the flesh ripping apart with each shot. It really sells the gore so much better and makes it so much more gnarly to tear them apart.
The peeling system makes quite a massive difference in a certain way tbh. In the original, it's a bit random whenever you're shooting at a limb unless you have an upgraded cutter. Seeing the flesh get peeled layer by layer makes it clear how much health and damage you're actually doing. Here it's at a consistent 3 shot.
Yeah they took nearly 3 years to develop that feature, they wanted the game to be as viscerally graphic as possible and even toned down much of the lighting when compared to the original for a more horrific alone in the dark experience
Fun fact: Dead Space 2008 had only a few camera cuts most and the rest of the game were a long single camera shots. Not many people realize this but for this game it added a lot to atmosphere (at least on my opinion). If you do not believe me watch any complete walkthrough of the original game.

Why does Nicole look so old?? And a lot of the dialogue and character interactions and behavior seems to have changed, especially with Hammond and Daniels. Where's the conflict between those two? Hammond giving orders to Daniels, who would show irritation at the situation, added tension. And Isaac's running turned into a scurry... lol Also, what's with the random baby dolls everywhere? There weren't families with children on the Ishimura?
Audio and graphics look phenomenal! However... Does anybody else feel everyone's voices seem a little too calm? Maybe it's just me but considering they just blasted into the Ishimura, the original VA's sounded more worried and on edge.
This is my concern, as well. Daniels was acting on edge and freaking out after the crash, which makes sense, when you consider how ominous it was that the place was completely empty when they first arrived.
10:18 the infected is floating to the player on the ground. Everything seems overly fast paced unlike the original, but the graphics are a nice touch-up. The visual confirmation of flesh being torn when the plasma cutter is fired is a nice immersion factor.
Yeah, they totally need to improve the animations like the mentioned floating and the first necromorph just casualy walks in. While we know from the original that they are slow and then suddenly fast and erratic. The original was better in that sense. And Isaac doesn't stumbl and scream when the neromorphs jump from the ceiling, like in the original. The original made me very ancxious because of this. Here it just feels weird.
@@DundG isaac only stumbles if necrimorphs jump right on top of him. Otherwise he won't flinch. The necromorphs in the remake didn't jump on him in this footage.

The game itself, the animations, the blood pouring down the suit, the RiG and the gameplay look quite nice. But is it me or does Isaac moves just a little too fast?
Not feeling great about the fact that he now has the face of Adam Sandler and he looks 30 years old while the girlfriend looks 50 years old. Wtf was the development team thinking with these character redesigns.

If they remake Dead Space 2 I will actually probably cry with joy. One of the best games ever made.

This looks amazing. What they should do is remake one and 2, then rewrite 3 entirely. Keep it survival horror and take it a new route. Perhaps a jungle planet with alot of moisture, and weird things for the Necromorphs to inhabit. Then move into a 4th game. Done well it could be a huge franchise.
Great idea.
If this game is very successful financially they most likely will make a remake of two maybe even three
Why does everybody hate DS3 so much? It's a great game, just because it changed genre doesn't make it a bad game
It was the dead space that undoubtably killed off the franchise for at least 8 years, plus it doesn’t help that it introduced micro-transactions and lootboxes.

And a lot of the dialogue and character interactions and behavior seems to have changed, especially with Hammond and Daniels. Where's the conflict between those two? Hammond giving orders to Daniels, who would show irritation at the situation, added tension.
