It’s super helpful to see someone with skill level a bit closer to my own attempting these butters. So many of these videos have super pro level guys making difficult things look so easy. I found that I was having some trouble with these in a lot of the same ways that Chris was at first, and it was nice to hear the feedback and watch him improve. It really helped me on the hill!
7:16 - This is actually a really good point. Doing drops into steeps, we used to come in switch, and roll over into our normal stance. This actually gives you a much smoother transition, especially if the drop is more than a board length, and let's you get right into a carve. You should try the tripod as a bipod with just the back hand. This is actually what we originally called a tail press.
When u live in Florida and binge watch snowboarding videos living vicariously through these guys cause it's hot and you know you'd be a sick snowboarder if you had snow
You guys have been a massive part of my progression from day 1 to now 4 years later learning all the butters on this vid a vid like many of your others Iv rewatched countless times. I only have access to uk indoor slopes but iv finally booked my first trip to shred some real slopes in Chamonix, I’m going armed with a descent bag of tricks to send in the park thanks to snowboardprocamp so I owe you a massive thank you for helping me achieve a passion iv wanted to do since playing cool boarders and ssx as a kid like 25 years ago. 🤟
iv been snowboardin for three years now practicing my turns and carves every weekend next year gonna attempt some jumps and hopefully these butter tricks :D
I’ve been watching ur videos for a couple months now in the attempt to teach myself to snowboard. I went boarding for the first time yesterday and used all ur tips and tricks. They r so helpful!! Keep up the great work!!
It might be easier with the presses to think about shifting your feet under you when trying this in motion instead of thinking of leaning from one side to the other. Simply lower your body a bit and then shift from the center of your foot to the side of your foot. This is really helpful when trying the nose press.
it also helps a ton to do a tripod on steeper slope, you don't even need to push, the board just flows out naturally and you use your hands as training wheels technically lol like you said lots of core strength required to make it look good!
i just came home from my first snowboarding experience. its a 4 long hour drive to the resort. then i saw this video. man, i have to go back next week and eat some more snow. awesome tuto sirs!
Well Colorado shut down their ski resortes and this was my first season ever!!): but thanks to all your videos I learned how to snowboard within the 3x’s I went up the mountain in November-December!!
Nice vid guys, helped with the office blue Monday.....(Case of the Mondays lol)... went to the park last week. got the boxes dialed... after a few bails and watching the box vid again at the park...hahaha. as Chris said, needed more speed.... cheers guys...
I always had DUCK position,17 or 19 to the front 15 or 13 degrees in back. Experienced riders say that could blow out your knees!!, so don't land FLAT too much with those binding degrees!!! When I was at high cascade snowboard camp,(HCSC), my counselor, Casey, suggested looking at the nose or tail of your board as a globe, and to position your weight over that globe, and it made sense.
I was over in Winter Park after Christmas with my kids, and I know that I have to work on my buttering skills.. especially after watching this demo. I find doing my cab 180 switch way easier, but just can't get the the regular sorted. I've been snowboarding for about 15 years but, with all the willy in the world, there are some schools which I just have trouble sorting. I know it's all down to technique, I just have to watch this a few more times, and then next time I'm over in Jackson, or the Park I can work on them. The regular 90 is ok.. at least! (I don't think I'll be trying any bagel..)
I just recently started learning how to snowboard. Yesterday would be my 3rd day. I do have a slight skateboarding background however without your videos I do not think I would have excelled so fast. I want to thank you for the hard work putting these videos out. I plan on copying and pasting this message to all the TH-cam videos that helped me so don't be alarmed if you see this on multiple of your videos.
Rafi Ramadhan too true on the reports. Iam getting in to park. But 36 currently. And smashed a wrist real bad on a motorcycle @18 years old. But wrist is as fixed as it ever will be so catchin up on time lost and shreading as much as I can. :-) Cant stop wont stop!
Katherine Lee u have no idea how lucky!! Ill be at Keystone for ten days. But check out abasin and Breck and maybe bever creek tòo. So ill be looking for them ;) Been following Kevin here for a year. Awesome tips!!
I have the same problem as chris when i do presses.. Seems like the edge catches alot and it just freaks me out. Also i used to ride a Neversummer Raptor, which is VERY stiff.. Picked up a Ride WildLife a few weeks ago and i love it! its so much fun being able to do ollies and presses where the front end comes up a few inches. so much fun
Been watching your videos for months and only just noticed you have the Process Off-axis...which I bought two weeks ago! Has reassured me it was a good choice :) Looking forward to getting her on the Italian slopes next month. Regards from the UK, keep up the good work
Mr. SnowboardProCamp, I think I just met your mother on a bus in vancouver the oher day hahaha she saw me holding my snowboard and started a conversation. Super nice woman
Awesome video guys. I know all of these however if I was relearning or learning again they would be awesome tips. Get an MFM Butter in a video though. Took me a while to figure out but so so fun and super stoked when you get it!
nice guys , great video . i am old now and come back to snowboard and try buttering. i like the bank trick with chris :i tried it yesterday ,it was great. now i would want to be better in tail and nose press, and i need to grow up my muscle and cardio . it will be great if you put slow motion and narrows to explain more in details the forces u use at the t time tx, kiss from france
Tried pressing b4 couldn't do it, watched your video went out and done it few tries Reaching for my tail with hand taught me how to bend my back knee and press on that foot
Hey guys, thanks for your vids! This is great stuff! Can you please make a video about the right buttering gear (board, bindings, boot). I recently broke my shoes and now I am confronted with an abundance of shoes to pick from. I have no idea which one. Would be great if you can give some tipps and perhaps introduce us to some example boots.
Thank u very much for ur videos, they are so usefull. I didn't watch all, but I will. I have a question, my level is intermediate and I'm learning butter tricks, but I think the position of the docs are not the best. How it should be ???? Is there any video explaining that ??? Best regards !!!
Yeah, it's definitely much more common for directional boards to have a softer nose and stiffer tail. What Kevin said is incorrect. Only board I know of where the tail is softer than the nose is the Rossi xv.
I was under the impression that as a board wears in it loses it's "pop" and stiffness gradually. People also tend to lean by on their boards more and flex the rear section much more often. So maybe he meant that people don't use their front tip as much and stays stiffer
1) Tail Press - 1:19
2) Nose Press - 1:38
3) Penguin Walk - 2:20
4) Butter Nose Roll - 4:36
5) Butter 180 - 5:45
6) Tripod - 8:31
7) Butter Bagel - 10:02
8) Butter Pretzel - 10:30
9) Butter Spin - 13:36
10) Butter Cab 360 - 15:13
thx
@@tombeck1960 damn Alia-A2.0
thanks to trick !
thx m8
Thank you. These guys are wasting too much time talking in this edit.
Kevin is such a calm, patient, non-poser straightforward dude, that’s in my opinion why he succeeded
Who else is hyped for this season
meeee
Yasss
Hell yeaaaa
Yesirrr
Yup 👍
3:06 - How I imagine myself as I watch this video.
3:50 - Reality when I try it.
Same 😂😂
Those first butters were imPRESSive
*ba dum tss*
Dan Carter haha

Man going back to this video brings me back to freshman year when I first found this channel.
you should slow-mo some of the tricks. your explanations are great, but maybe a slowed down representation will push it to the next level?
Khai Ngo agreed sometimes im like wait i didn't quite catch what he did
I keep rewinding to see details, specially in falls so I dont do the same
I go to Settings / Speed and set it to 0.25 to watch the critical points.
Khai Ngo 12:08
I do that as well (.50) , plus they sound drunk/stoned
Pretty sure when I was learning to snowboard I did tripod unintentionally
same but it wasnt smooth
LOL I did too XD
Abe Ramirez how long does it take to learn how to snowboard . I’ve skied for 7 years
Charlie B it’s pretty hard to get used to so about a few weeks of constant snowboarding should be able to get the basics pretty goof
I learned it in a week. Friends of mine in two. It depends, but in order to come down the mountain pretty good it takes round about half a month.
7:16 - This is actually a really good point. Doing drops into steeps, we used to come in switch, and roll over into our normal stance. Man you got me hooked on tail presses and nose roles! Learned both in the past 2 weeks and they’re so fun! Thanks for the help!
My buddy Nigel loves the tripod 😂 He tried it in my newest video they look hilarious
Amazing!
Love how Chris suddenly pulled that nose butter 360 to backside 180 out :O
ikk i gotta try that out
Kevin, your style is just so smooth. I hope to be as loose and just overall as cool as you are on the mountain. I love your videos man!
This video was edited so much better than the rest, clean cuts with no dragged on awkward moments. Keep it up bro!
Another year and another watch. Thanks for setting the vibe for a snow day. It’s all about having fun
2:30 Penguin Walks tire me out big time! I always need to catch my breath afterwards lol. Always a sad time when you find a flat spot on a run.
Never gets old this clip.. love it, great tips..
iv been snowboardin for three years now practicing my turns and carves every weekend next year gonna attempt some jumps and hopefully these butter tricks :D
How did it go?
You can practice the nose, tail press going up a tow rope
11:33 that looked so fun and steezy
I’ve been watching ur videos for a couple months now in the attempt to teach myself to snowboard. I went boarding for the first time yesterday and used all ur tips and tricks. They r so helpful!! Keep up the great work!!
Zach Engelman go fast and take chances. FYI These guys suck

I was doing the penguin walk and my bindings came out 😂

I didn't know Heisenburg and Pinkman had a TH-cam channel
Heisenberg* and I think it's just Pinkmans channel since, you know, Heisenberg's dead
Anthony Masovero p
Me wtf
BRO MY THOUGHTS EXACTLY
How soft/stiff does your board need to be for a lot of these tricks? Are they all doable with a stiff board?
Dude, thank you for all your videos. They really help me
Decided to start snowboarding this season. I can’t wait!!!
What snowboard is better to learn buttering? Softer, harder, what construction? Flat one? Thanks for any advices
Suddenly I'm getting all of these recommendations about snowboarding but I have only snowboarded once in my life lol
The skills wow! Gotta work on my squats or something...feelin' the burn! Thanks for this
Well Colorado shut down their ski resortes and this was my first season ever!!): but thanks to all your videos I learned how to snowboard within the 3x’s I went up the mountain in November-December!!
This is a great video explanation of all these basic tricks I'm actually trying to learn myself... Subscribing
Bagels and pretzels are so fun and so easy. Favorite butter trick by far.
Nice vid guys, helped with the office blue Monday.....(Case of the Mondays lol)... went to the park last week. got the boxes dialed... after a few bails and watching the box vid again at the park...hahaha. as Chris said, needed more speed.... cheers guys...

They look so fun so I could enjoy this video!
Hi kevin I'm french and I love watching your video I regret that there is no French youtuber that offers content like yours.thanks
you know we all want that advanced butter video, 360 nose butter's, backside nose butters along a wall etc
I wish everyone in the world could experience snowboarding. It's a really good time.
picking an edge helps allot with buttering too. Lots if tricks go better when you pick an edge.
"give me that money you owe me!" *penguin walks away* i love you kevin
I was over in Winter Park after Christmas with my kids, and I know that I have to work on my buttering skills.. especially after watching this demo.

Probably the best video in this channel
Just what I needed. About to leave Australia to go shred colorado Keystone! :-)
Definitely check him out! Awesome rider, although if its not your style, you'll at least get weather reports and run tips :D
Katherine Lee Funny you say that. I have been following him since day 20 :-) Might be lucky enough to shred with them while Iam there.

Sweet video. Headed to winter park tomorrow to give um a try.
Thanks again guys. Looked like a super fun day.
I have the same problem as chris when i do presses.. Seems like the edge catches alot and it just freaks me out.

Picked up a Ride WildLife a few weeks ago and i love it! its so much fun being able to do ollies and presses where the front end comes up a few inches. so much fun
Started late this season just now learning comfortable on heal and toes
Can you do advanced carve tutorials? Like the Euro carve, revert carve, etc? Just some material for the more advanced snowboarders out there!
They can't cause they're not advanced snowboarders...
check out at snowboard pro camp vieos with TJ mostly he does boards revies but they are full of epic tricks. including those you mantioned.
Check out Ryan Knapton. He is the godfather of carving and has some sick tutorials.
David tj did a review on the proto type 2 with some advanced carve tutorials
Great videos and great attitudes. Thanks guys.
nice to see that youre growing really hard!
unk5845 hmm, just realised it sounds a bit gay hahahah

It’s in Whistler, 2 hours north from Vancouver
I love whistler but I’m from America so I don’t go that often
I'm from Edmonton so the closest mountain I know of is Marmot Basin in Jasper National Park!
Awesome going to try some of these the next time I go
you can see Kevin’s board here is pretty soft while Chris’s stiffer
Tried pressing b4 couldn't do it, watched your video went out and done it few tries
Reaching for my tail with hand taught me how to bend my back knee and press on that foot
Hey guys, thanks for your vids! This is great stuff!

thank you very much!
regards from Chile
Very good chanel, videos based on real no pro riders learning stuff. Progressing to next level like i want :) Good work master teacher :P
Thank u very much for ur videos, they are so usefull.
I didn't watch all, but I will. I have a question, my level is intermediate and I'm learning butter tricks, but I think the position of the docs are not the best. How it should be ???? Is there any video explaining that ???
Best regards !!!
i'm lactose intolerant! can i use margarine?
Is it just me or did I watch this video like 10 times no cap
5:29 are you sure? Isn't the nose softer on most directional boards? especially with a setback
Yeah, it's definitely much more common for directional boards to have a softer nose and stiffer tail. What Kevin said is incorrect. Only board I know of where the tail is softer than the nose is the Rossi xv.
uh, no. doubt you ride anywhere near enough for that to happen.
Nowhere near enough, sorry.
I'm 95% sure they think the tail end is softer simply because their strong leg is in the back.
I was under the impression that as a board wears in it loses it's "pop" and stiffness gradually. People also tend to lean by on their boards more and flex the rear section much more often. So maybe he meant that people don't use their front tip as much and stays stiffer
Wow, i never realised how extreme the penguin walk could be, just gotta use the spring of the board, something I still haven’t gotten a feel for
You guys deserve much more subs.
i just broke my leg...watching... XD
such nice snow makes it looks so nice because all the snow i get is icy death
how soft should be a snowboard for doing that? i guess it would be much harder to do it with stiff one, right?
Wow. This one is really great!
This is makes me want to get back to snowboarding again after 14 years and 88 pounds gained.
Interesting numbers
Get to it!
I am 5'10, 150LBs, and have a size 11 boot. What size board would you recommend?
