Between Tommy and Malcom Moore videos I’m so ready for my second season on the slopes! I somewhat got skidded turns down in my first season, this year I’m hoping to progress into proper carves
This is my second season and I was in the same boat as you. Day 3 this season it suddenly clicked and I was able to carve, it kinda felt like when you first learned to ride a bike. So, it will probably just click for you one day this season and it is the best feeling!
Teaching folks this exact thing on the treadmill in Florida, especially the importance of skidding. I always direct our snowboard students to your channel Tommie! You're the man
I recently discovered Tommy and can’t get enough of these videos. I really like the pauses in the video and the arrows with the explanation. More of this please!
Tommie this is amazing. Between your Q&A live streams, your videos and hitting the mountain it’s been a huge improvement. Would love to learn how to estimate the speed required for jumps whether side hits or ramps in the middle of the trees etc
Impressive content, Tommie Bennett. Looking forward to your next upload from you. I smashed that thumbs up button on your video. Keep up the fantastic work! Your breakdown of skitted versus carved turns was enlightening. How do you suggest balancing between these techniques when transitioning on varying terrain types?
Getting my daughter to pay attention th these videos is exhausting lol. No matter what tips give or how hard I try she just keeps winging it. Hoping she can show me a heel side stop this year. She is frustrating me 😂
Great video! Always appreciate the lessons. Also, is there any way to get a powwave tech hoodie? 👀 I see it on the site as an exclusive item but can't select that color and I love it haha hoping more get made 🤞

Wondering if you have any recommendations not to lose control on the t bar lifts?
In some other videos, knee steering is introduced as a way to fully carve. But would that make my turns more skidded (which is what im getting from the video)? I’m trying to make my carves rlyyy carve and I cant seem to get it down😓
Hey Tommie, do you have any tips to avoid foot pain? I had a bad time last season with cramp pain in my leading foot, had to pause so often, it was horrible. I already got new shoes that fit way better, but when practising some turn movements at home, it felt the same. Is there a specific technique on how to use your feet or do I just need inlays? Looking forward to this season, having a blast with all your videos with tips and tricks. Keep it up!
What boards do you think have the strongest/sharpest edge? I like my Burton but feel that their edge gets too dull too quickly requiring a resharpening every other day or so.
Metro Detroit area here! I second this! I got one random day two weeks ago then the temp rise and then the rain...Im so ready to put this to good use but tired of waiting lol.
That’s when you look up the mountain on ur toe side to see if there’s anyone behind you and or carve and go fast so you won’t have to worry about them catching up

It's really cool to see you ride that steeper stuff and show how to manage speed gracefully!!

Voice over is the BEST!

Yeah this voiceover with the arrows and pauses really help

Just started my seasonal job at Granby Ranch (CO) and doing my 3rd snowboard session ever tomorrow! :) Excited to apply these tips, thank you!!
The pausing and arrows were super helpful.

Great format
Amazing video!
Hi, it would be interesting to see you cover icy moguls or smth simmilar :)

Tommie! curious… where do you have your hi-backs at? Any forward lean?
@@Irie_state-of-mind I have the least amount of four lean absolute possible. Not a big fan.
Great content! Thanks for the help. Ps is it Vail?

My brain is so rotted that i saw the thumbnail and thought skibidi turn... Send help

Great content!! Love this type of video
Looks like a Snowboarding Game on Ps5
That 360 camera is crazy
No camera man
I gotta get one

Go check out mobilityduo, they have active stretches you should get into for boarding 👍
Also better shock absorption bindings help a little.
You may want to look into the binding angles on your board. Your setup might be putting too much pressure on your foot.
does skidded turns use up a lot of energy in your legs?
What boards do you think have the strongest/sharpest edge? I like my Burton but feel that their edge gets too dull too quickly requiring a resharpening every other day or so.
Curious what binding angles you use?
i am the number 10,000 viewer
@@Taalen-e3y hope so!
@@tommiebennett you should update the link to your store in the description; it's missing a ":"! Great video btw!
What's the board he's ridding?
This is a gopro footage or an insta360 footage?
Insta360 I'm pretty sure
@Felix-kd8tn ya, I arldy brought one for my snowboarding trip
I always feel that I am doing more skidded turns when snow is more compact, a day old snow. 😢
Anyone know what snowboard he has?
Tommie, Id appreciate it if you stopped posting this stuff because us michiganders have nothing to go ride right now...... lol
Metro Detroit area here! I second this! I got one random day two weeks ago then the temp rise and then the rain...Im so ready to put this to good use but tired of waiting lol.
Same I’m in Clarkston and going to mt Boyne tomorrow and I’m worried about the snow
@@Joe-br2cd yeah I'm in the UP and we lost all of our snow. Literally all of it
Why is the video sped up?
If i could just find boots that doesnt feel like its slipping out of
Lil shidders everywhere
I thought it was called shidding not skidding
Why does this look like CG?? Nice vid tho
Sounds way complicated than it is
Best way to learn is just get out there
I was pro within an hour
It's not hard at all
Lots of fun
carving is dangerous. Taking up the entire trail trying to carve will set you up on colliding with skiers and other boarders.
That’s when you look up the mountain on ur toe side to see if there’s anyone behind you and or carve and go fast so you won’t have to worry about them catching up
