    Also, there's a 600x owners group on FB if anyone wants to join. It's a great place to ask questions and meet fellow "Duzer Cruzers" :) facebook.com/groups/162354162365820/?multi_permalinks=393015342633033%2C392425989358635%2C392322772702290%2C392055496062351¬if_id=1645946385538301¬if_t=group_activity&ref=notif

      I bought a Priority 600 all road basically sight unseen ordered to Canada based on RVD's recommendations. I LOVE the bike, it's taken over for my commuting to work leaving my car in the garage! Awesome bike, and I pay a premium to get it here in Canada!
      The only thing is the lights are outdated, nobody used micro USB anymore and the lights are underpowered. Future proof this bike and get rid of the dynamo hub and underpowered lights. Also the fenders don't work with the newer 50mm Goodyear Country tires, no clearance what so ever. So that's probably a $300 premium I paid for two items I took off and don't use. Such is life and the rest of the bike is bombproof!

    It’s quite a dream to have designed this bike with my friends at Priority. Here’s to many more adventures on the Duzer CRUZER…I mean the 600x ;)

      Fantastic! BTW, I have a simple frame suggestion that may (or may not) be good -- braze-ons on the sides of the head tube, and a front platform/porteur rack that mounts to them. This way, the rack and its contents are suspended, allowing the fork to react to bumps better. Luggage weight is better distributed, steering is unaffected even with half-full bottles up front sloshing around, head-wind performance is improved, and there is one less thing cluttering access to the front wheel. It doesn't have to carry a ton, so it can be low-profile to clear cabling. Moulton bicycles have this (it's easy to do with small wheels), and they carry loads very well as a result.

    Ryan, I am 68 I quite smoking 1 year ago and 6 months later decided to try and get in shape to do some through Hikes, and then some Bikepacking. It is my goal this year to Hike the do a sprint triathlon, and thru hike the Colorado Trail. It has been and is a real challange to go from being a 40 year desk jockey smoker to a fit biker and hiker. At my age gaining muscle and strength is a process that takes a bit of time. OK That said I wish to ride the Great Divide Tout, but before that maybe the Route 66 route on a Trek 520. I have looked at a number of good quality bikes for the Great Divide Tour like Trek Checkpont, Salsa Cutthroat, Bianchi Impulso, but after Watching your videos and reviews and communicating with Priority, you are right, that is a well designed bike that for me would check all the boxes. I hope i can get to the physical fitness level to accomplish my goals. My Cardio is improving but strength seems a bit elusive. Keep up the great information and videos and I hope your new friend works out well. By the way I am about 100 miles south of you maybe some day we will meet, and i will take all the advice you can offer.

    Hey Duzer, thanks for that demo, the 600x, a totally nice machine, no question. I have the Brilliant, a 3 speed, at 89 years it serves me well. My wife, 5'4", is very challenged riding with me. She's a good rider, but stopping and dismounting is problematic, she does OK, but I am concerned every time we go into that maneuver. I need to contact Priority and see if there's anything that would work for her. We enjoy our rides together, but just thinking about an injury takes the edge off an otherwise very enjoyable ride.

    I like that you use the phrase Always Works to describe the Pinion gearbox. I ride a 1961 Raleigh Sports, with the original Sturmey Archer AW 3-speed rear hub. Among English 3-speed-ophiles, the AW hub of course stands for Always Works. And after 61 years, mine is going strong. (I am not the original owner; the bike is a few years older than I am.)

    I ordered mine a few weeks ago. I wont see it until April, sadly. I can't wait to get out there on the thing! I've been a Trek fan for years and have several Treks, but they don't have a good offroad/trekking bike that i like as much as the 600x. After seeing your various attempts at Baja, on various bikes, then the Colorado trail, i'm confident the 600x is strong enough for me.
    BTW, if you happen to influence your friends at Green Guru to make a bolt on 3" wide frame bag like you have for sale to us normal folks, this excited cyclist sure wouldn't mind.

    YoRyan...I'm really enjoying going thru all your Vids...{Did my trainer session today watching your Durango-->Moab...Awesome!!} Now I still use that 30-year old Trek 8000 MB (don't laugh) & a Trek Madone Road bike and I was just getting ready to pull the trigger on getting a new gravel bike to expand my riding choices for extended RailtoTrail rides and Canadian Gravel roads, when your Vids made me hold up and reconsider the Pros & Cons of a Gravel Bike vs Touring Bike vs the 600x. Just curious if you've considered making a Vid that talks through the Pros/Cons of such a decision for some of us out here still on the 30-year old 8000 :)...Again - Thanx for all the AWESOME footage that most folks don't get to see...

    Ryan, now that the 600HXT is coming out it would be interesting to get your take on how they compare for bikepacking purposes. I'm reacting to the specs I'm reading on the Priority site. The dropper post and wider tires of the 600HXT seem to be similar mods you made to your 600X(?) The 600HXT also has the electronic shifting and slacker head tube.

    • @duzer

      The HXT is sweet, I’ve been using it for the past month, but it’s strictly for mountain biking. I mean, you could use it for bikepacking, but the geometry is more aggressive and better suited for afternoon rips

    Looks like an amazing bike! I have several touring bikes. Trek 520, Raleigh Alyeska, GT Peace 9R (broke my 520 Reynolds frame..eek) and my 2017 Surly Ogre. Bike fit is my major concern. My Ogre is a Medium. GT is a small. Alyeska is a 52cm. 520 is a 54cm ( a little big). My daily commuter is a Trek DS2 large frame. Medium was too bunched up. I've rebuilt my DS2 once already and just about to rebuild it again. Components are middle ground and seem to wear out in a couple thousand miles.
    So again size matters. I'm 5'7" and I'm thinking a small by the sizing chart???

    • @duzer
      @duzer  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I'd say medium, but check the size chart on the 600x page, make sure to measure your inseam!

      @swnorcraft7971 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I'm 5'7"-5'8", 150 lbs. I have the 600X medium. I'd say I'm the smallest person to ride this frame comfortably. I'm glad I followed the fit guide on the Priority website. I could probably be ok on a small but the seat would probably have to be over extended to work well. I have many miles on this in almost 2 years. No regrets.

    I’m not a big fan of the wren fork because of the proprietary parts. For example when tsa lost your skewer. If that were a fox or rockshox, you could have gotten an axle at a bike store.
    Would be nice to have the option to get a different fork or just offer the frame set.

    Definitely considering getting one of these. I've been waiting for Jones Bikes to get some framesets in stock, and was planning to build a Jones LWB, perhaps with a Rohloff. I've been fascinated by the Pinion since it came out (big IGH fan for years), and to see real world reviews on the system has helped convince me that it is the best thing going.
    My current bike (built up as a placekeeper for the Jones) is a Vassago Mooseknuckle Ti with full XTR 12 and Paul Klamper brakes on XTR rotors, and Jones carbon H-bar. I'm running it fully rigid with an ENVE fatbike fork, and I built up the wheelset with the Jones Carbon rims on DT Swiss 350 hubs (150mm fat front hub) and 3" tires front & back . It is an awesome bike, but the 600x ust hits so many of my buttons. The convincer for me will be how the 600x handles unloaded, say, for fast singletrack riding (like a regular MTB).
    I plan to get into some overnight bikepacking to get started, but long to do some longer multiday adventures.
    Thanks for your wonderful videos and for helping to bring a bike like the 600x to the world. Well done.

    My only complaint with the 600X is that it is not sold with the option of adding local trails and terrain as an add-on package (joke alert). As a result I have gone to a more urban mix down here in Houston, Texas with slick Maxxis Hookworm tires. I put in Tannus Armour Bike tire liners with additional Tuffy liners at the tube because I hate flats/thorns/staples/nails out on the trail/road. I keep the wheels at 50-55 psi and find that keeps the rolling drag real low and also the double liner configuration means I almost never have to pressure up between rides. You do have to be cautious with the slicks on trails but it is worth it because of the effortless ride. The bike is totally solid and silent. I noticed a slight creak the other day and isolated it to torqueing the crank arm fasteners a bit more, should probably put some blue Loctite on those fasteners with all the high cyclical/twisting loads at the crank. I have added a riser stem and a high-quality seat post articulated shock. This bike will outlive me, have to list it in the will...

    Hi everyone. After more than one year and 2000+km . Here is my feed back. The geometry is not the best but still good enough to enjoy the ride. Brake should be upgraded if you like riding without headache. Rear hub is another weak point if you're planning to go for long have spare parts with you or upgrade it. The belt is very sensitive to heavy mud (whatch the video that Duzer broke his belt) so do bike walkig in mud if you do want to bike walk the rest of the route. All the bottle provisions are good only on large size if you getting other sizes especially small you will have problems with fitting the bottle holders.
    My up upgrades:
    Break to Shimano
    Rear wheel set to Shimano
    Handle bar to jones

    Okay, so this might be a crime but it's winter where I am.... left my 600x unattended in the shed for a few weeks and then went to go for a ride on a warm afternoon and the rear brake was locked on. Seems to have excess hydraulic pressure building up that won't go away. Can be rideable on a cold morning, but will lock up after a couple of laps of the shed. Let some fluid out of the hand piece, adjusted everything I could, swapped lever from the other hand piece, no change... doesn't seem like it would be air in the system as lever is harder than hitting my head on a brick wall...
    These are the Hayes Dominion brakes, in case there have been different ones used...
    Any ideas out there?

    Took me all afternoon 4 - 5 hours to remove the front and rear tires on my identical 600 and remount them. Took all kinds of extrodinary measures I wont go into here but they added many hours researching on-line. Even my special ordered for this purpose Kool Stop super duper cantilever tire puller worked on front rim but failed on the back rim.
    I think Priority should offer the option of either tubeless rims or normal rims on the 600 according to whether the customer wants inner tubes or not cuz the tubeless rim system they inflict on tubed customers by default is a real bitch to work on. All 600's come with tubes in spite of having tubeless rims which does not make any sense given the almost impossible task of patching a tube on this bicycle. I mean if your going to have tubeless rimes and tires why not sell the bike with the actual tubeless rim tape and tire plugging kit for roadside flats?
    So I finally get the rear tire on and the bead is not popped into the tubeless hook in the rim and has a low spot dip in the rotating tire. So I let the air out and reinflate it up to 60 psi and one side of that low spot pops into the tubeless seat on ONE SIDE of the tire but not on the other. So the tire rotation is still wonky up and down.
    Absolutely forget about trail side patching of a tube on this bicycle. You will either walk home, or call a taxi, your ride will have come to an instant end whereever you may be. Your spare tube will be useless so dont even bother carrying a tube and tire irons. ps I broke one of my tire levers doin' this.
