    My baby is here! So much effort went in to the creation of this bicycle, and we're all really proud of it. If you could have a slogan painted on your bike, what would it be?

    When I first saw the price I quite frankly thought it was absurd. But I researched and researched and it's really quite a miracle that you guys did get the price down to 3500. Literally every other bike in this class to 5 grand plus. Can't wait to grab one

    Well Ryan, I just now took a leap of faith and put a deposit down for the Priority 600X; The most expensive bike I have ever attempted to purchase. I know, I know! The bike is a good deal considering how much bike I am getting for the money. BUT, I just picked up a beautiful used Co-Motion coupled tandem, so there goes the new bike budget for now!
      Oh well. It's not like you can actually buy a new bike right now anyway. Everything's sold out with LONG lead times. (Santa Cruz Bikes is currently 14 months out...)

  • @rb-ex

    that is a super-solid machine. it might be obvious but worth mentioning that the internal gearing setup allows your rear wheel to be symmetrically laced, making it much more stable than a dished wheel. the efficiency losses through your drive-train are substantial and for that reason wouldnt be for me, but having watched some of your vids i can definitely see why it would work for you as an all-conditions no-nonsense solution for whatever nature throws your way. all the appointments on this build look very thoughtful and right on the money. thank you for sharing

    OOOH! Can't wait for mine to get here! Supposed to get it by the end of the month. They have been great people to work with, and sounds like everything about the production bike is as good (or actually better!) than your test mule! I love that they even send touch-up paint. I take care of my stuff, and have had a lot of bikes over the years, and have to say that is the first time I have ever seen that happen. Nice touch! You really hooked up with a great outfit Ryan. Thanks to you and the Priority Bike team. I hope this becomes a great seller for them, and "Gets" them as well as the Gates & Pinion drive train more "Out There" with the mountain biking population. A relatively Light, 350 Watt front motor would flatten most hill's, eliminating any more "Hike-A-Bike"... especially with a Pinion and a IGH!. A few studs on the front tire along with a 36 Volt 350 Watt front hub, will make this an All season All Terrain Bike for some awesome Frozen Lake drifting in the Winter. You put together a Great Machine Ryan... with all those components, I could not build the same bike for less than these bikes are selling for! This is a clean build! Well done!

I have been watching gearbox bikes coming along and I can honestly say that this is the first time I'm thinking I'd pull the trigger if my current bike gets stolen. Just so you know pinion gearboxes eat gear oil. Honestly I don't know where it goes. Adding a little oil every 1000 miles will keep it from being hard to pedal. Also keep the belt a little looser than recommend.

    Ryan, thanks for all the insirational videos. I received two Priority 600x bikes a couple of weeks ago for my partner and myself. We are in Sydney Australia and the bikes are great! I was apprehensive because of all the nonsense I’d been reading about the Pinion shifters. My experience is that they are far far easier to use than trigger shifters and have so many advantages. Learning to change gear was simple and easy and the ability to dump a load of gears at once or when stationary is a huge advantage. Shifting is smooth and intuitive. Very happy with the bikes and excited about a multi day trip soon..

      @@saulpinto4720 remember, Ryan doesn't own a car, so the savings he realizes every year on auto insurance alone almost equals a new Priority. Add to that cost of the car, maintenance and gas, and that IS a brand spanking new Priority every year!
      And think of what smokers spend every year on their habit. That too is a new bike.
      So if you can cut out the car, or smokes, or that daily latte (or two), then you'll save some real money for a bike!
      I always told my kids I'd buy 'em a new bike every year if I had to to make sure they never, ever, EVER smoked!!! (Luckily I never had to, but they still have nice bikes nonetheless...)
      I hope you can find a way to save up for that dream steed!

    I really hope they will offer normal shifters for the Pinion system, because personally I just can't stand gripshift. That's my main gripe with that system, and as much as it is a very viable solution for longterm usage for something like bikepacking, I would still not have it on something like an everyday trailbike given the weight + gripshift solution.
    For heavy duty use it has it's place in the market for sure, I just hope they sooner than later will provide proper shifters.

    LOOKS GREAT! Mine should be here in a few weeks! Any suggestions for a wider rim wheelset to take the 2.8 tires for Baja/Desert conditions? (stock i25 a bit narrow for 2.8) Kinda wish it could come with i30ish rims to fit 2.2 up to 2.8 tires.

    • @duzer
      @duzer  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      You are gonna LOVE it! I know that Eddie put on some 2.8 inchers just to see if it would fit, and they did with plenty of room to spare. The WTB website says that the i25's can take up to 2.8, but not ideal, not sure what the consequences are...maybe the tires would pull off the rim on tight corners? I'm not sure. I'll try to do some research!

    • @AmishJakey
      @AmishJakey 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      I've also considered the possibility of wider rims that would pair well with wider tires and for more tread contact. If you change to WTB i29; i35 or i40 tough rims, the ERD(Effective Rim Diameter where the spoke nipple seats against) is within 1 mm. It's plausible that the outer rim can be switched to one of these rims and keep the original spokes and hubs. I am most likely staying with the original tires and rims to avoid adding weight, however, conditions like sand and soft terrain would benefit from a solution tailored to the environment.

    • @mountainlaureldesigns9382
      @mountainlaureldesigns9382 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@duzer I have rcvd my bike and can confirm that 2.8 tires work OK. I mounted a Teravail Cumberland 2.6 and Teravail Coronado 2.8 (both actual measure the same 2.75") on an i40 rims and there was about 10mm clearance. No worries if the actual measure is under 2.8" but for big mud potential under 2.7 would be better.
