    I have a model y performance and a Etron Q4. My Etron gets way closer to 400km range and regeneration works far better. My Tesla says 458km and gets 350km on average

    Hi Kris, for the Q4 with SW3669 or higher there is a difference between the 40 RWD and the 45/50 AWD models regarding the charging curve. On a 300kW charger the AWD models will peak at up to 170kW and get slower relatively fast. The RWD 40 etron will peak at 135kW and will give you a much flatter charge curve, dropping below 100kW around 75% SoC. And my 40 etron will suck some power from the charger for heating the battery at the beginning, resulting on a series of clunk sounds. If the heating is active you will of course see a higher charging power output on the charging station.

    I’ve had my Q4 40 since Nov ‘21. When I got it the quoted max charge rate was 125kW, but I’ve seen a peak of 130kW on a Fastned charger. Mine still has the original software with no updates.

    When doing my weekly transport from Oslo to Tønsberg I have an average of 105-108kph, and average consumption of 17,5/100.
    50 with the continental 19 inch. The software updates rolling out now is supposedly working a lot better on the AWD cruising consumption allowing it to run as RWD for a lot more of the cruise. (According to family in the Audi universe anything below 130 that just «casually sustains power level below 25-30% wont trigger the awd until you start to accelerate.».
    Will be interesting to see the difference.

    I have the latest ME3.2, my Q4 Sportback from January 22 came with 3608, and i was on of the first to get the update, charge from 10 to 80% in 25 minuts, also at 135kW

    That does feel high. I have an early Q4 50, with the original bug riddled software, and I get 20 doing steady 120kmh motorway speeds in that sort of weather. The efficiency plummets if you do any hard driving though, certainly to 25 or worse.

    Would be interresting to see what type of tires, how you feel the noice level etc. A little more detail about the cars when you test would be nice

      Tires, size etc and all those details are in the chart at the end 👍

    Our Q4 40 has an average consumption of around 16 kWh per 100 km. Weird results from your test.. must be something wrong.

    • @KrisRifa
      @KrisRifa  ปีที่แล้ว

      40 is RWD, this is AWD, much of the difference is there. And also, what is you average speed with that consumption? I highly doubts it is when doing 120kph. Nothing wrong, you’re just trying to compare apples to grapes.

    Taken delivery of a new Q4 50 quattro last week and loving it so far. I mostly do city driving and have been averaging 18.8 kWh/100km average so far.
    Very strange for your results. I have 20in factory wheels on my Q4 but it is wearing stock Bridgestone Alenza All Seasons.

      I have had my 2023 q4 etron for 2 weeks. We mostly drive in B mode. We average around 16.8 kwh/100km.

    Why you go 120 kph when the speed limit in norway is max 110. Not god exsample for young drivers. Speed kills !

    • @Becausefamilycar
      @Becausefamilycar ปีที่แล้ว

      Plus 10% ish is my guess and that indicated speed so probably is 110

      If 10kph more will kill you, then you should turn in your driver licence.. He is carrying out a range test.. EPA WLTP close to standard..

    Looks like the EU is stuck with the awful CCS plug. Since Ford and Tesla's announcement that Ford will be going to Tesla's NACS plug, there will be other legacy auto companies that will have to go along too. NACS is vastly superior to CCS. Big win for the market and for the charging network in North America. Sorry you guys are stuck with CCS.

      @@Strato495 Yes, I know that. It's still a cumbersome piece of junk. Reference Munro live. It's more expensive and complicated to install by the car maker, and looks like it was designed by a government committee.

      @@edinreviews Actually, 2 of his younger engineers did the talk on the absurd CCS port. Munro and Associates break down cars writing manuals of literally 1,000s of pages on them. Down to the cost of every bolt. You're kind of pathetic belittling a giant of engineering and the organization he's built.
