- Welcome to amphibious analysis were we look deep into various amphibious MS from mobile suit gundam we run through there history, specs and lore. on the first episode we are going to look at my favorite amphibious MS the acguy.

the gundam show was believed to be a failure. So when the show hit big time, the big dogs decided that the good guy design had to be toy friendly so that they can made toys. So what about the ZEON? nobody care about it so the creator has freedom and he designed them like a giant robot that is a tool for war. Like the eye, why would a robot need eyes? they need a good camera and that is why the ZEON mobile suit has mooneyes. if you look at the good guy gundam, their eyes are not the camera, it the thing on top of the head.
yeah I remember hearing that in a gundam documentary, the lead gundam mech designer Kunio Okawara was told very specific things when making the federation MS but when it came to zeon the only major thing he was told was give them a mono-eye so he had a lot of creative freedom there. they did this beacuse they thought no one would want toys of the bad guys
@@slothcakes i have model kits of Rx72 and the Zaku, the grand dady look so boring that I only buy Zeon from now on. Hg Acguy and hg Gogg are on their way and the next model will be MG Acguy

Damn totally forgot how much of a "tacticool" porno thunderbolt was. Loved seeing the acguys kicking ass.
But l always felt like all the different specialized units were simply normal suits modified by the zeon remnants, that would kinda explain them using zaku weaponry and scrapped armour for shields. Neo zeon ramshackling stuff wouldn't really be a new thing.
I just finished building my Acguy and found these videos to build all my amphibious suits!!!! ABSOLUTELY LOVE THESE VIDEOS!!!!
I wish there would be an HG for the Acguy Gundam thunderbolt version.
Same I wish bandai made more TB model kits in general
I always thought of the Thunderbolt version as a Universal United Maintenance Plan model, like the Z'Gok-E.
Great way to look at it, love all the attachments TB acguys are shown to have feels like there amphibious zakus
@@slothcakes they upgrade it so much , this lil guy is a spec ops recon MS from the core ( just look at daryls MS setup)
I love the designs of Acguy in thunderbolt much more cooler and badass that the classic designs was hoping more mobile suits of one year war re imagine in the next thunderbolt series
10:17 as far as I know, the Thunderbolt ver is smaller than the standard one. It stands around 12 m. The change of proportion makes them looked taller.
makes sense, seeing them taller than other MS and being more lanky they look bigger than they are thank you

@@slothcakes Yes they did a really good job on the Amphibians. And the EFF FINALLY got decent Amphibious MS which they never had until now.
@@JeanLucCaptain yeah more GM varients besides the aqua gm gives a better impression that the EFF at least tried to make amphibious MS to fight back
@@slothcakes I just remembered you need to pay more attention to the Thunderbolt Manga for the Acguy because it has has a giant Gatling gun featured quite prominently.

I really appreciate getting to see the various art work associated with the mech. Mentioning if (and which) model kits exists might be a nice addition.
I'm a fan of the bulkier mechs (for example the Gelgoog and the sweet looking Gushion) and I suspect I'm not alone in that regard. Maybe a video on bulky designs would be cool.

glad you enjoyed it am also a fan of thicker bulkier looking MS and thankful;y most amphibious ms are that also the gunpla idea is not a bad idea never thought bout it but sounds intresting
If you bury an acguy up to it's neck you're probably going to mistake it for a giant landmine or a bunker, actually I think an acguy head could act like a bunker with its head vulcans or 6 tube head missile launcher, like a low budget zock .

10:25 It’s worth noting that despite appearing taller due to its slimmer design the Acguy TB ver is actually stated to be significantly shorter than the standard Acguy at 12m compared to the standard 19m in official sources.
Thunderbolt Acguy and Orgin Acguy body style looks similar don't you think 💬🤔.

In FvsZ we called him the 'ugly' this things are deceptively annoying stubby ankle bitters who could deliver a surprising good fight with a strategically well times cannon shot that could deliver a wallop and CqC was nothing to snub at either, with it's extra range. As ugly as it first look the design certainly grows on you over time. I am glade Thunderbolt managed to do justice to it by making them look good.

That's the Zaku flipper it's a varient of the Zaku recon

Ive been running the acguy a lot in gbo2 recently. When i first started i played the agguguy a ton and i love it but now going back to it against a rank players i need to relearn how to play it completely.
I think the acguy is a bit underrated. Especially with level 3 stealth at 350 cost. You have to master its play style a bit with having to stand still for the particle gun and rockets but being able to one shot stun 2 shots in a row with a relatively short overheat and head vulcans that stun fairly quick and can be fired while boosting gives you a lot of tactical options and the ability to put out lots of stuns.
And it you get in trouble boosting away while firing the vulcans witn their 300m range can usually get an enemy off you.

Personally still a bigger fan of the og design. It's a lot more focused, less busy, and just has a more recognizable silhouette. Less is more.

Did you really make a video about the acguy and not in a single moment mentioned MSM-04-1 Prototype Acguy or Mobile Suit Acguy - MSM 04, the manga about the whole development of the Acguy but STILL mentions two other works by the same author which it wasn't that important?
And this isn't even me saying: oh no, there isn't a mention to Iron Acguy, a parody manga about a fusion of Iron Man and Acguy...
Aggai Hakase is not tranlated nor could i find raws of it but good point i should of mention the proto-type at least somewhere ill make sure to do that in the future, thank you for the comment

So apparently there's a short manga that's similar to the ultra man manga but it's a acguy power suit never knew that existed I can't even find raws of it
