      Check out Sweat by Tool. It's 1st on their 1st album cos Tools are worthless without Sweat. It's short, but really sweet, and it hints at everything they've grown into.
      Also, Wheel is a band formed by a bunch of guys who love Tool. They're very similar, but still unique. Farewell is their best song, imo. Definitely worth a listen

      When you ask "Danny what are you doing"? at ~ 17:50 on the video (~10:30 on the actual track), he's hitting a closed high hat cymbal. You can see this on some of the live Tool videos on youtube.

    Tool army checking in. I swear one of the best distractions from depression is watching folk react to Tool. They've got me through dark times and its great to vicariously (hehe) relive it through others. You're an awesome dude and thank you for these, they really do make me happy. Listening to 7empest for the first time, I genuinely felt like I travelled forward in time. I you had held a gun to my head and asked me how much time elapsed during the song, I would have sworn on my life it was 5 minutes. They somehow erased 10 minutes from my life. It was honestly a surreal feeling when I saw that the song was 15 minutes long. Outstanding work of art.

    7empest gave me chills the first time I heard it. Reminded me so much of the Opiate and Aenima days. Just a really ballsy track! Also some of the very best guitar parts Adam has ever composed. He had already set the bar as high as it could go, but still managed to raise it even further.

  • @johnseward2934
    @johnseward2934 ปีที่แล้ว +6

    The middle instrumental section gives me such fundamental chills. One of the greatest, powerful, grooves recorded. The nuances of what Justin and Danny are doing playing around each other with Adam laying down just some of the sickest guitar leads on top is phenomenal. You should listen to Descending off the same album.

After you become fully infused with the music, the lyrics will come around and your mind will be blown again. All the members are masters of their craft and that includes MJK. A virtual cornucopia of sounds. I agree; the intro is genius, as if TOOL composed a track for a music box!! ❤ from MN!

    Great reaction mate, when I bought the album and listened / experienced this song I was almost speechless, amazing from all 4 of them! If aliens visited Earth they would pick up Tool and leave 👽

    Polyrhythms. Tool are the experts at it. They seem to pride themselves in what seems like Fibonacci sequences

    Sevsimo, before I discovered Tool. System of a down was my favourite band. Now I love them both equal 😅
    I’d love to see you do some SOAD reactions. ‘Toxicity’ was the song that got me into System and I have many favourites from them - Question!, Deer Dance, Dreaming, Spiders, BYOB, Forest and Revenga 😊 I think you will like them!

      SOAD is definitely an incredible band! I have heard a few of their popular songs which include Toxicity to be honest but will definitely look into more of their stuff thanks for the comment Suzy much appreciated!!

    You need some PINK FLOYD on your channel. These guys influenced bands like METALLICA and TOOL. 🤞✌️

    This song gave me almost as much joy as Wings for Marie in terms of Maynard’s growth. He used to be so bitter, even towards his mother. He always saw the flaws, and knew how to point the finger. Amazing artist. He vehemently opened himself up to his “shadow” and vulnerably became an outlet. The problem with that, channeling anger, resentment, fear… you become a slave to it. Maynard however was able to spiritually discern Lucy, and channel his anger against the evil one, in a just way.

      That’s is an incredibly well constructed comment; concise and insightful. If you aren’t already a writer, you should start.
