Great that it's passed. All that work has done wonders. Your mk1 still looks great 😁👍

Really good, waiting for an MOT is nerve wracking. Yes I know all about that, just had a new speedo sensor. I removed the clocks and took apart. All looked good but I had to recalibrate the pointers.
I drove locally with the clicks removed, it was a bit weird still kept looking down to check speed.

Well deserved result. Cars always drive better with a new MOT!

It's the same as when you totally fill the petrol tank. It always feels better for some reason, despite the weight on the back and not on the FWD 🤣

That focus MK1 and 3 door is a rare old one now but don't look bad at all and they are reliable have you had any engine light and abs as I did with my old 03 and 1.6 as it was common fault with the clocks I took it out and took it apart and cleaned it with contact spray and sorted the problem the cat on the exhaust gets blocked as well mine had done 125000 I used red ex treatment and changed the sensors

They are far less common than 5 doors and harder to get trim for especially but I do see the odd one about.

@@usuallyfixingtinkering And that's the first automatic gearbox I've seen as I've worked on alot of them more welding to be honest I'm going to look for a petrol estate MK1 as I no them really well good engines main thing is you enjoy driving and that's all wat matters

The automatics are actually becoming a more higher percentage of those that survive because they rarely give problems and are no "ragged"!

I never doubted for one minute that your Focus would fail the MOT. Glad to see it pass. I think the UK should adopt the German TUV approach to testing every 2 years myself.
Another YT'er I have followed for years has been doing up an old 1988 Rolls Royce for most of that time. He is now taking it for an MOT in 20 minutes.

I'll watch it! I would like the 2 year adoption but sadly I see many people buying older cars especially ULEZ exempt classic because its mot exempt, that does not fill me with confidence. I always thought it could be offered to vehicles with 3 straight MOT passes with no advisories, however that would open a can of worms in terms of many things behind closed doors!

@@usuallyfixingtinkering The advisories is one approach, but I think 2 years OR over 10,000 miles in any 1 year is reasonable.
