That quote is only true for an established product (it must be first critically acclaimed ) or a new product that has tangible value for the user. And it doesn't relate to negative publicity because of poor quality or value. But to criticisms and buzz feed ...stuff like that . It also depends on the objective (is it to get new product awareness? is it to broaden the customer demographics ? Do you want to target a specific audience? ). Negative publicity will make your potential customers lose interest in your product

@ravnosFX, I have been working on it again the last few months, and it's initial new rebuild was uploaded two days ago. It was never "dead" life just happens. I have a full time job besides this, and a child to watch now.

I've heard that all before. The developers of other games that I bought, like Edge of Space, Hellion, New Dawn, Project Alpha, Stellar Overload, etc. said the same story. I'm not interested in what's wrong with you or what problems you have in life. You put the game up for sale and as a customer I demand a playable game. If you have other commitments in your life and you barely have time to do anything else, don't make games. Creating games is a privilege and passion, if you can't afford it, stop it immediately and don't make others pay for it. A great example of an independent developer is a game called Subsistance made by ColdGames. He is only one guy and he also has his life obligations. It is truly a labor of love, what he makes in his free time is astonishing. Go compare your game to his. Good Luck.

You proved my point. Not only that you are a poor developer, also vulgar and rude. Which is proof that you shouldn't do this at all. I see that you can't handle some complaints and criticism. Getting terribly emotional after that. That's not how professionals handle things.
I like how this asset flip is so similar to Rust that even the TH-cam algorithm thinks the game is Rust (check the video description).
Funny thing is, the survival kit looks so much better than dead inside... they guy literally took the assets and made the game worse...

When used right, asset packs are great. No point re-inventing the wheel for every system. However, you should at least go through the asset you bought, and change things up to personalize them to your game. Sadly most early access devs just mash together several packs and think they made a game.

Thanks for this reviews Bigfry. I'm not 100% against buying pre-made assets as long as the developers utilize the assets to build their own maps and take the time to develop their game instead of slapping together a horrible mess of a game and/or straight up copying everything from a pre-made game.

Rest assured that I would never flip an asset. As of right now im just playing around with the environment. It's going to be a while. Not entirely sure what i would like to do as far as mechanics are concerned.

I find it one big fucking coincidence that the survival kit and the space project are both available on torrent sites. I HIGHLY DOUBT he even paid for them from the asset store to be honest. I would put my life on it.

Bought assets pasted over Rust, the user interface and the building and item placement is almost identical. The icons they show for some of items in the inventory and models look like they're from, or very similar to Rust as well. Unless Rust just slightly altered some of the things from the asset pack. But I would be willing bet if you looked into the files a bunch of the coding and programming would be stolen or rewritten in a shitty way. Or even be like that other game Atlas that still had file folders named after DLC from ARK. Wonder if anyone looked into that because the dev's of Rust would be all over a lawsuit.
