How can u fix the situation with the radio and car play?
@@stephaniasuquitana5946 My phone is plugged into the Car play outlet. This allows me to use other apps to stream music and such. Radio, climate control, and other things run through car play. The Uber App (Only the Uber App) likes to take complete control and that even means things like AM radio for example. I would have to completely shut down the Uber app and once I did so everything would return to normal and then restart the Uber app and everything would be fine until I either got pinged or a change of status occurred.
What kind of phone holder u using? I just got a rave 4 xle. And how would i hook up the uber app to my android car play? Maybe you could do a video.

How do you adjust the map to see the location of where the delivery is going on iphone.... You can do this on android... but I can't seem to get this to work on iphone

I love how the GPS map on Car Play looks better than the one in the Uber app. Chris, It's ironic that you've shared this video, cuz I just acquired a free tablet Android PC via my local government resources which I'm planning on using the Uber Driver app on in place of my phone. I got it because of it's much larger screen. I'm getting older and after staring at my phone all day everyday for the past 10 years of my Uber driving experience, the eye strain I've developed has really taken a toll on my sight causing my vision to degrade. My eye Doctor appointments are now annual and my vision assessments are now more difficult. My Dr says that the blue light in our phone displays damages our vision. So to help my eyes relax more comfortably I'm installing my tablet which has a much larger and more comfortable display. I can also use it to secretly record my rides.
Hi Quincy, I’m in the same boat as you with eye sight issues & I’ve found a display company that has pre loaded Apples Car Play & Google Car Play.
Saw this video and got myself a new iPhone but it says this feature is still under developing here in Australia, probably US-only for now.

You still need your phone for most of the functionality, can you still play music while you’re using the Uber app???
My CarPlay doesn’t work with Uber for some reason…works for regular mapping systems but doesn’t with Uber…frustrating!

On mine it doesn’t show where the person is going, it just shows how far away they are. How do I change that

For some reason it only works when I use wireless carplay not wired carplay ☺️ hope that helps
It's nowhere near as functional as the tablet set-up I've been using for the past few years unfortunately. I can use my phone as a hotspot for the tablet and run Uber and Lyft in split screen while using CarPlay on my car's head unit for entertainment. The only thing I haven't tried is Google Auto from the tablet. I bought an Android powered head unit to replace the stock one simply for that same functionality.

the CarPlay app does not show you the total miles... it only shows you how far the pick up location is which can get you in a trip that you may not have wanted to take. I still accepts rides on my phone but then turn off the phone and use the car play app for the ride. If they can add the total miles for the ride like on the phone, speed limit, breaks and online/offline then we would be solid.
Will it show the total miles on your phone while your still plugged in to the apple car play, the mileage looked like they matched in the video

Still not good enough. I’ve just attached an iPad to my the front my head unit, and utilize the Uber iPad app. It has full functionality, and you get then experience the app on a larger canvas.
Hello, how do I get the amount shown on my CarPlay. It was showing me the amount for a while and it just stopped it only shows me the miles on the car screen plus when I get a delivery the music stops as well and it wasnt doing that before I have an iPhone

All the functionality should be on the car and the phone should go into tracking right away for security purposes
How do you get it on the setting to show the trip details on where you going to pick up and drop off and how do you get it to slow down mine give me like 3 seconds to accepts then it’s on to the next one

What about Android auto?
Until the CarPlay app displays the total miles involved on any given (UE) orders its pretty much useless for me until I’m transporting passengers, and I want them to see the routes we are taking.
Is there a way to turn off the navigation prompts, every time it tells me to turn my radio goes off and no music.

Thank you for this!!! 💜🤗 I just started using this for Uber Eats. The only features I wish they had added were speed limits on the map while driving & the pick up location name (Taco Bell, Vinny’s Pizza, Chili’s 🌶️ etc) to make declining & accepting more hands free.
You. An add speed limit in your phone map settings and also in Uber account settings. Go to 3 bars top left in Uber app. Click on account, scroll down to app settings, then scroll down to speed limit. Turn on the “show speed limit button” continue to choose speed limit mph and blamo… you should have speed limit showing.
NOTE: it is not always correct, I found out with a speeding ticket in a school zone. 🤬 my pain is your gain.

It's not yet available here in Australia as 26 March 2023, the icon is there, but when you click on it on CarPlay, it says will notify you when available

Not in Canada yet either. The app shows up on my carplay screen, but when I hit it I get a message about waiting for an update. I am also disappointed as I have been asking for this for a long time.
Sure would be nice if you could ditch the phone altogether with CarPlay. Maybe some day.

I would assume so, but you might have to turn off the voice navigation in the Uber app.
Uber…I have my music on I open Uber app, my music volume lowers, hate it.
Are you using Apple Music by any chance? I have started using Amazon Music unlimited and it doesn't lower my music anymore, but used to all the time when I had Apple Music.

Great points bro. It’s not available in my market quite yet but I’m not gonna be using CarPlay. I actually use an iPad mini and tablet mode. Got all my functionality right there and a fairly good size screen. Bonus I can use my Bluetooth headphones. Note, I cannot use my Bluetooth headphones and CarPlay. I don’t want all that garbage coming across the speakers. All I want to coming across the speakers is relaxing satellite music with no commercials. Repeat, no commercials, no commercials, no commercials, no commercials, no commercials, no commercials, no commercials. Period. Do you know what Uber wants to do use CarPlay so they can feed the customer commercials to CarPlay. No thank you, no thank you, no thank you, no thank you, no thank you. Broken record emoji
Is the tablet you use have wifi capablility....I have a ipad without wifi and was wondering if i can link the ipad to my iphone to get a the complet uber app to mirror it or by wire. The ten inch screen would be much nicer!

Had 2 trips yesterday where the persons destination was the same place I picked them up. How the hell do I know when it's .01 miles they want when it could be an old man or disability .01 miles is a 100 yards
