    The reservation: 24.2 miles to pick up, + 37.1 miles to drop off= total 61.3 miles for $44.62 dollars, definitely looks like a garbage ride. That's not a good business.

    In Houston We don’t have the luxury to mess with it that much. We have a ton of drivers that will pick up everything and anything so you either pick it up or some other driver will. I’ve driven to surges to get the extra $1-$5 and exactly when I arrive the surge goes away. They have reps working us like dummies.

    • @ridexserve
      @ridexserve  4 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      The surge is also dead in California. Today I was driving on New Year's Eve. Normally from 7 PM to around 11 PM. You would absolutely get a surge in california but not today... Then, at night from one thirty in the morning 22 thirty in the morning there should have been a surge, but uber will show it and hide it, show it and hide it. Basically all day of driving at the end of the night. I got two small passenger rides 4 2 miles where I was able to get a ten dollar surge. It wasn't like this last year around new years.

      That is why gig offers are so very low. Drivers do not know how to say no. It would be easeyer for them to stay home and give away all their money for free. They could just send gig apps a payment to cooporate offices and avoid the driving.

      There's a bunch of us old farts and old timers that are showing you what we're doing and trying to teach the young drivers. If we keep making videos and we keep breaking the algorithm we will be fine. Ultimately we have to stop driving uber.

    4:02 your overthinking things and the algorithm is not that complicated. The reason it popped from $19 to $20 for your offer was because you were 9mi away then you were 10mi away. Also facing different directions doesn't matter, it still calculates raw mileage of distance to pickup regardless if you are already heading towards him or would need to drive 2mi and uturn. Remember the customer was already quoted a price, Uber will typically give up the sale rather than pay a driver more than what the rider paid. Also you are not privy to the Uber Black driver who is 3mi from that pickup and Uber trying to force the rider to upgrade if Uber can't supply him w a uberx ride.

    I like your video. My question I'd I don't have upfront pricing in my area. In our area when we see a surge we drive towards it. If I dropped off a rider and after that it's showing a surge I usually shut down uber and drive towards it till I'm in the red then turn uber back on to get the surge price. Am I handling this correctly? Like I said no upfront pricing

    • @ridexserve
      @ridexserve  4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Surge is a 🥕 infront of a stick. It's to move drivers around, and 9 out of 10 times, you will not get it unless you are very close to it. Try to turn on pet mode only and drive to it. Turning the app off is good as it helps all drivers. Track the bait and switch with surge. You will notice the algorithm will turn it off right when you come close. My advice drives at times when the supply of drivers is low and the demand for passengers is high, like 4am or 7 pm. In the end, practice 6 notes and adjusts your driving 🚗 as the algorithm changes weekly.

    I live 60 miles from LAX. I drive a Toyota Avalon Hybrid 38 mpg and I charge $150 to LAX and $170 for curbside at LAX. I place free ads on Nextdoor and Facebook groups in my city and surrounding cities. I average 40 private rides a month. I also have a AAA travel agency that gives my card to all their clients who book vacations with them. I also have a head concierge at a beachside resort in Laguna Beach that gives me rides. My advice! Go private and build your own business. I will have to say after going private I watch a video like this and go! Thank god I don't have to deal with this bullshit! Full disclosure 7k rides on UBER and 2k rides on Lyft. It was time to make a change.

      @ridexserve This topic is very controversial. I do it without TCP and that pisses a lot of people off. I am taking a risk of getting in an accident and my pax getting injured and insurance will not cover it and I may get sued. That being said I am in my 50's and have never been in an accident behind the wheel. 1,000"s of drivers do what I do because right now what they are paying us is criminal and WILL NOT pay my bills.
      1 more thing! Take those early morning Airport Reservations and have a business card and try to flip them to your private side for there return flight. You should also have a square account and a card reader and a tap to pay on your cell phone for business clients who need a receipt. Get off the hamster wheel and start thinking and driving like a real entrepreneur!
      My advice to you is to trim or shave the beard. I say this not to be mean but you are going to want to put an image out on your advertisements of you. Shit maybe you cut or trim beard for your advertising campaign and grow it back!? 🤔

    There is no scenario where I would be taking a 37 mile trip for $20. The algorithm thinks it's enticing you by upping the fare by pennies. NO! And 61 miles for $44. Nope, not that one either. Are these the types of trips you are stuck taking in your market? Today was slow for me, but I at least did $131 plus $12 tips in 128 miles.

      I understand where you're coming from. And I agree with you like, for example, today i've driven a hundred and fifty miles, but i've made around a hundred and fifty miles, but i've made around a hundred and fifty miles, but i've made around a hundred and fifteen dollars. By the end of the night my goal is if I've driven 200 Miles. I want to be at two hundred dollars. For me it is impossible To do 1 2 1 ratio. On every single passenger. But I can do it when i'm dealing with around eight or ten passengers in the whole day. Again this is just my humble opinion. Everybody has their own way of driving. My job is to educate and help other drivers and teach my style. We don't have to agree.

    Also. Your not being paid by miles or time. Your being paid based on your markets dollar per hour amount. U can see that by checking Google for Uber drivers in your area. When I'm in Toledo Ohio my dollar per hour amount is 11 to 14. When it's busy it's 14 to 18. When their are new downloads it can be as high as 20. Tips may or may not change your dollar per hour for that one hour but it will effect the following hour most likely. But what you make determines the next rides pick up distance and or drop off area.

    You're the only driver in the area. That's the first reason you got the same ride multiple times. You're driving away from the ride. It increased pay by like 40 cents. It took at least 5 minutes for those rides to be offered that many times. You also spent gas driving away. Probably not 40 cents worth but some. So the question is how much is 5 minutes worth to you? Let's say you spent nothing on gas. You're saying you're willing to work for $4.80 an hour? You're obviously going to the city this $20 ride is going. There's no real work where you are. Definitely not enough to stay busy for the day and it's all leaving the area anyways. Stop wasting 5 minutes and get to the area where there's actually money. At least you're getting paid to go there. All those rates sucked.
    Pro tip. Don't cancel $44. Call customer first to get gate code. If they don't answer 3 attempts in 2 minutes. Cancel. Should've talked to customer on first ride where you did get in and realized this could be a repeated $44 reservation and gotten code while customer was in the car the first time. Find solutions to problems you know exist before they cost you money. Don't wait and lose money.

      Thank you for your feedback and you are absolutely Right, I agree with you. I should have called the customer and gotten a gate code. But unfortunately I didn't want to drive twenty five miles back because I was already on the freeway. Meaning Uber gave me the ride once. I got on the freeway and there was no turn around where I was. If it's a reservation, Uber could have gave it to me while I was there. And driving towards the customer. Because I picked the same guy up the day before the same amount forty four dollars. Uber chose to wait till I got on the freeway. And I couldn't turn around and wanted me to drive whatever ten miles fifteen miles and twenty five minutes back and I called bullshit on that.

  • @trayel83
    @trayel83 3 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

    You are so far from the truth lmao. Your just burning gas sir
    That's not how the system works. When you decline a ride the offer goes up and is sent to the next driver at a higher pay out. The fact the ride came back to you so quick shows their aren't many drivers around. Which is also why it didn't go up by much. Once the pay out reaches its max threshold the passenger is bumped out the que and has to request a ride again. How ever the price goes up. And the ride bounces driver to driver getting higher till someone accepts it. You driving away has nothing to do with any thing. If you had the passenger app you would realize their isn't any one or only a few drivers online. Which is why the ride request came back too soon. If other drivers are online say 4 drivers but that passenger took a ride with 3 of them and receive less then 4 stars then those drivers cant receive that passengers ride request any more. Like wise if that passenger rated the driver less then 4 stars they can't pick that passenger up. The passenger want even see the drivers that have blocked them. Passengers can only see a max of 8 drivers near them. I call this the cluster. One goes away another pops up. Which means their are more then 8 drivers. Now as a driver if you check the passenger app and you only see a blue dot where you are and 8 other drivers around you then it means your in a cluster with more then 8 drivers. You will uncover that when you notice that Everytime one driver gets a rider they disappear and another driver pops up but you still only see your blue dot and not your car on the pax map.

      @@ridexserve since day one 2 years ago and over 5000 rides later I have studied the algorithm. I wrote down every last ride I've given. I've worked in 2 different states. And recently I finally got some remarkable information from Lyft driver support in regards to ride challenges streaks and bonuses and based off every you tubers video they are wrong as to how the algorithm determines what challenges and or promotions we get and the basis in which you receive them. Come to find out it's actually based off your driving habits the month prior. When they are over charging passenger, that's actually your money. But you can't get it till the following month in the form of ride challenges streaks and zones. So it's like working a week in the hole but it's a month in rideshare lmao. Considering how many people don't tip. I'm starting to like the way they do things. How ever only time will tell. And as far as if you wanna see if I'm right about how they pay you on the rides. Just Google your market to see how much drivers adverge in your market. The lower amount is the average when it's not busy and the higher amount is when it's busy. Your time online doesn't matter. It's the time passengers are in your car. Take your booked time and divide it by your pay out to see how much your making per hour. You will soon find out it's rare that your exceeding a certain amount during busy hours and none busy hours. Because of my method I use I'm literally only declining 2 rides during busy hours. And I don't care to much about none busy hours that's when I use my filters so I'm not running all over the place for less pay. No other driver has a physical record of their rides like I do. Even the pax are subject to the algorithm. They read the passenger phone to check the battery life on their phone. If the phone is below 30% they get over charged. They check the battery life through the battery optimization on their phone. A guy at Uber figure that out when he worked their. They track a person ride history. So if they have to be at work at 9 and request a ride at 8:30 they will have to pay more. It's all link to their urgency. Also the passenger rating. The more rides the passengers have taken the less drivers are available to them because of the rating system. So that passenger will be charged more for their rides unless their cluster has enough available drivers for them. I can go on for days of what I've uncovered. I suggest talking to your passengers. You will see
