after watching your video I pulled the trigger on one, I'm reading some reviews / early impressions now, and I'm sad to see that some sites are claiming this device is overpriced and underpowered, it seems like you're able to run N64 games no problem tho? I'm OK with not being able to run N64 games, but it looks like you're able to run them with decent frames in the video.

Actually it's not too bad unless you're constantly needing to press the shoulder buttons (Wipeout 3, F-Zero etc...).

I think it makes sense to skip HDMI out on devices of this specific form factor; for the more GBA style shapes, you can essentially just hold them like a controller, so it makes sense to be able to plug them into the TV, but one like this would make for an awful 'controller' experience I reckon, like an even more cramped GBA SP.

Anbernic. Please release a GBA SP form factor device. I recently bought an RG351M and I would still buy one. You could include a bigger screen, the buttons would be more comfortable, you might even have room for stereo speakers. The original SP is the device that I carried around the most due to the protected screen and ease of fitting it in a pocket.

Thanks Taki! Another reasonably priced handheld! Your point about reducing them to $65, might induce many more to buy them. The screen on your review was looking good. The other thing, considering your mention of Famicom in the title made me wonder just what this can handle. I did see an obvious 8-bit Super Mario Bros., but some of the others definitely looked 16-bit, & FFIX came out on the original Playstation. YES. This is a device I have been waiting for for 8 years. Since the psp go, no handheld has been able to match the weight and size of the psp go. (The gameboy micro advance screen is just too small to deal with for me). FINALLY someone makes a portable gaming device that is.... portable!!!! I never understood all of these' portable' game systems and smart phone game controllers that don't fit in a pocket/are too heavy. I want a device I can always have in my pants pocket, in case I get stuck somewhere unexpectedly I wont be bored. If I don't care about portability, I can use my pc and tv at home. I just hope the dpad holds up. Does anyone know if it is possible to use 2 of these to play multiplayer?

I bought a RG350M a few months ago, and I was pleasantly surprised by the build quality. This device looks no different. Really impressive stuff.
I bought a vita more recently, and I kind of like the tactile feedback of the RG350 better, as well as the size of the buttons/inputs. But, I’m glad I have a Vita, as it’s just a more capable system.

Can you fit a larger battery inside? 1000mah and 4 hours feel a bit on the short side. Of course it's not like I will spend 5 hours playing on the thing, but I would appreciate if it had a few hours more battery life.

When I enter the emulators and choose an emulator I can no longer see the list of games and select a game that starts. Only folders open and I can't start any games! What have I unintentionally changed, how can I get back to playing?

@takiudon do you know the difference between the one from the official website and the one they are selling on whatsko gaming?

For n64, they should make it so that if you hold the trigger that isn't used by the n64 controller, the dpad switches to the joystick

@Taki Udon Hi Taki, I know that you have both RG300 as well as RG280V. May I know which device has a better screen? I know that RG280V screen looks saturated and lovely.

It’s nice but the price doesn’t make too much sense. Appreciate your honest review.

Don't know about the "mainstream countries" (US, UK, China, etc...) but in Brazil, it's easy to find a RG350P for cheaper than the all-new RG280V.
My cousin's parents got him a Sup Portable Gamebox, and i was thinking of giving him something better.

    Awesome device and video !
I know that NDS emulation might not be perfect for the size, but can you share any nds performance numbers ?

There is no NDS capability on this device.

Buying tomorrow. Done deal. My Odroid go is showing it's age, even with custom firmware. My kids cracked the screen on my rg300 when I let them borrow it. So, I've been looking for a good device that isn't landscape. Perfect.

I'm wondering how does this compare in size to a psp go? Also is the rg280v a more capable emulation device than the psp go? Thank you, love the bids Taki. The best out there.

It is, but the other side you will lose the psp games capability
