I appreciate how long you had to hold it up to the camera while going over specs heh
I was thinking the same and was looking for that comment. :D
It's looped.
Thanks for the review! Youre the only one i've seen that included the thermals on a device! It's really helpful as i hate devices that get too warm to hold when playing! Please always include the thermals in all of your reviews as well as the battery life! ❤🎉
The size was the main reason for me to order the device. The original GameBoy is smaller and that was for children's hands. But all other vertical emulator handhelds are smaller than the original. And very often very very tiny. Unplayably tiny. I never understood that. Now there is finally a device for adults in the right size for adult hands.
Still 2-3 days to wait, I'm looking forward. :) Thank you for the test.
How do you like it so far?
@@LetsplayAori I am satisfied so far. I already had the Anbernic 351V and a RES2k, but they were both too small for me. Now it's much better, not perfect, but pretty good. Performance is enough, the system runs smoothly, if anything PS2 games might be a bit jerky. I haven't needed the fan yet, it's always off. The speakers could be a bit better, most smartphones sound better. The touchscreen is unfortunately not the best, inputs are not always accepted and sometimes you need some pressure. I also have the case and it fits perfectly. I will keep the device this time. :) I hope I could help you.
PS: On the memory card with the games was not a single Mario game on it, strange. But there is everything on the net.
@@DeziByte I see thanks, yeah that with mario games is a weird thing which anbernic does. It's like they think that reduce their risk of getting busted for sharing copyrighted material or something like that pretty weird. If I will get it it would be mainly for 2d games which are dpad focused so not much n64 or later.
I got one as well and clicked internal storage for my SD card instead of external how do I fix this
@@dylanstockton1358 Select the icon "Retro Arch". Than, on the right site choose the cogwheel. An the the last menu item "directories".
Excellent review and completely accurate.
That thing is massive, and has quite a bit if junk in the trunk. 😂 Great review! How'd did you find trigger sensitivity? Have seen a lot of complaints about accidental trigger presses while resting fingers on them.
Yeah I've been thinking about getting this device for my 4:3 retro needs, it just seems like it fits like a glove. Also makes it easier so I can focus on a more high-end gaming experience on a larger x86 device (not a fan of the rog ally d-pad for example, but who cares if I play 2d platformers on here). Just wish it would do Saturn, PS2 and GC a slight bit more comfortably, hopefully they don't abandon this form factor in the future with a more powerful soc, but at this price point I can forgive it.
i love the bigger size...especially in regards to the triggers... is there a higher end spec device like this?
I’m definitely going to buy this device it reminds me of Gameboy DMG especially that OG grey
amazing device..i love mine. wood one... its my dreamcast and gamecube handheld...for psp i prefer retroid pocket 3/rg505/odin ones
@The Phawx - When you remove the Back Panel, on the Main Board, what is the NBOOT Button on it.
Well I like where Abernic is going, all they really need to do is have a model with a recent snapdragon cpu and I'd buy it. I'm going to wait until they release something that runs ps2 games as good as my galaxy s20 fe. If the chip I had in my galaxy had active cooling like this it would run anything you threw at it.
What game is this The Phawx ma dude? 7:30
Awesome video as always. I Just realized because of its SoC it can't run Linux distros. Since Android is Linux, I say that's a win 🐧
Gigawings 2
Phaws can you make a video on Sega Saturn emulation is been a struggle to find a good handheld to play Saturn.
mine was just delivered today. its what ive wanted. i guess some will say its too big. but i wanted a vertical bigger than the OG Game Boy. i wanted a bigger screen. the ergonomics are so much better than the Game Boy.
I got mine and I love it but cannot get skies or arcadia on bream cast or game cube to run well enough to play. Any tips or tricks to try?
Odd question, is Castlevania symphony of the night preloaded on this device? I have a very select few games I want this for and it would be awesome if they were preloaded.
The sticks bug me as I own a RG351P & MP (just sold) & V as well as a RG353V - I’m a fan of the vertical orientation. But none of the sticks are much good on those devices so I’m a tad disappointed that they’re not great on this one either as I need - as well as to play heavier games to emulate - my regular fix of Robotron. And if these are no good then this device is sadly not for me.
thank you too
Hi, did you try the Mame's game (Arcade game) "Kung Fu Master"? Can the analog stick work correctly, for example run and kick at the same time? This is not working on my RG35XX. Thanks.
I'm definitely gonna get one. Need to sell off my Miyoo Mini+ and RG350m first.
RG405V screen resolution is too low, I don’t know why reviewers don’t talk about it
I was interested until you got to those sticks, the left stick is essential to Crazy Taxi.
Would this be worth it? What Anbernic Device would be recommended? Also, 1 thing I kind of liked with Systems like this, for example, the Dingoo A320, was it had FM Radio, and you did not need Headphones as a Antenna. Have you seen any Anbernic Devices have that kind of Feature?
One Game I would want to Test is SFIV-CE on Android.
it seems a quite interesting device
My screen protector did not fit unfortunately, no matter how I placed it , part of it was over the edge and you had huge air pockets, I had to press it on , then destroy it to get it off.
I love seeing some cave story, truly one of my most favorite games of all time.
Oooooh… it’s a live wallpaper, freaking awesome!!!
AMD realese fluid motion frames in drivers for rx 7000 series and 7040 apu series, You will tested?
I love the T-Shirt, lol
Thanks for the video
Btw, do you know how to hook it on a hdmi Tv or monitor?
I don't think it's possible with this one.
still waiting for the rg405p.
I love mine plays every Dreamcast game
will there be usb-c to hdmi support?
are the games preloaded?
Is the 405m battery suppose to drain fast?
So I got it and accidentally clicked internal storage for my SD card when I needed to make it external. Can anyone help?
Is this an out of box review or are you using Gamma OS?
Yeah, the 405v doesn’t have gamma yet
It does now
I Love Phawx ❤
I have heard that it has goldeneye 007. Can you show it’s gameplay
I don’t get it why mine it’s 80% and boom got low to 8% why ?
When is Anbernic going to stuff RK3588 in there?
Could you take a look at the R35S a 50$ hand held device its virtually not reviewed properly for a low budget handheld
I love my wood block …so much fun …I also found AGVN (angry video game nerds ) 3ds game ,I wonder if he knows Anbernic copied his game ….awesome game though….
The AYANEO Kun laughs at this TINY Anbernic!!!
1000 price difference it's good at what it does
It's too big and too expensive for what you get.
@@Fr0gg0 it's a joke folks :)
Heeeeeeeeeeeeee's back! Let's see!
Calling that ridiculously large seems to be kinda ridiculous to me, this looks to be maximum the size of the first Gameboy.
Facts. If anything, most of the retro handhelds are ridiculously small. This bad boy is ERGONOMIC AF
If my concern was abut where I would put this in a bag then I would have to question my bag choice as this is still a small device. As far as having a crevice to make appliance of the screen protector is concerned, if a screen protector is considered a realistic requirement, then apply it at the factory, where it can be done correctly. But whilst companies like Anbernic offer pricing to include obviously Pirated games, they won't get any of my money.
PS2 emulation failed ?
Anbernic RG405V PS2 COMBIFLAM ARMY GTA GAME REVIEW PLEASE Sir
Huge but battery life isn’t a plus as long as it’s 4 hours.
Minimum 4 hours.
You can run a Nintendo Switch out of battery in 50 minutes playing Doom Eternal.
Doom Eternal can drain Steam Deck in under an hour, too.
The Ally has worse battery life than Switch or Steam Deck.
Trend: The big sellers set a low bar. So yes 4-17 hours is something relative, in comparison.
I couldn't get a time frame for doom eternal on iPhone 15 Pro, but Death Stranding is under two hours.
Obviously, you aren't playing anything Doom Eternal powerful on this handheld.
Worst design ever!
405v still cant play ps2 or gamecube. so for a half an inch screen size its a NO for me my heavily modified 353v is the better option ill stick with that.
The upcoming GameForce Alpha is supposed to have a RK3588S for like $170, RK3588S is what the Orange Pi 5 uses. It runs NGC and PS2 at about the same level a Snapdragon 855 phone would, so most games would run at x2 or x1.5 resolution, PSP games at x4, Dreamcast at 1440P...
