Do NDS games run on Linux as well as they run on Android or is it worth the extra $50 if I plan on playing NDS games? I’m only getting this device to play Pokémon ROMs on it. Pros and cons after living with RG353V for a few weeks. Linux is good for instant gaming sessions, and much more comfortable to use than Android. Playing PS1 and some 64 titles is just a really cool bonus. I got my VS for 80$ and I seen the V for 120$ so I saved 40$. If you want to buy a all in one I would recommend a psvita because you get the nice option of a OLED screen an vitas in my area run anywhere from 100-150$. Just food for thought.
I would be tempted to buy one of those if I didn't have a PlayStation VITA. It emulates many consoles and plays it's own games of course which are great. And it's OLED screen is better than most mobile screens nowadays. Looks better than my Samsung cellphone.
@@Cyko.. Of course, but I rather to use the Vita controls as they are pretty good for a handheld console. As far as emulation goes, it does 32 bit and under (1975s-1995s systems) well, but Daedalus 64 could be better let's be honest.

@@-edsense-rivera3716 it depends on what consoles you want to play. If you want to play gameboy and gameboy color, rgb30 has the best screen for that. If you want to run ps1 games and play more advanced stuff, I would probably go rg353v, or even the rg405 for n64/dreamcast. If you have the budget, my favorite handheld so far has been the retroid pocket 4 pro.
The fact that you don’t even recommend it yet it’s still the video they put on the product page is why I’m buying it from them. They clearly know they have the best product and chose a video that showcased it very well. Really excited to check it out. Have no idea how to get games though and heard the SD cards crap out after a month or less.
I'd definitely recommend you get your own SD card for the roms. It's super easy, one you put the SD card in (formatted as fat32) it will create all the correct folders on the drive. Then just drag and drop your files over. Alternatively, if you buy a preloaded card from them, you can simply drag and drop it to your own brand name SD card.

They do come pre-loaded. Honestly if you just want to play retro gameboy/gameboy advance your better off with Miyoo Mini +. It's cheaper, slightly smaller, same screen size and performance will be the same too. It does have a different UI though, so if that's important you could do the RG353VS.

It's too big, and their goal of making an ergonomic shape makes it very uncomfortable for many users. It's over engineered and kind of ugly. Also the hall effect sticks they used aren't very good, sadly. They turn poorly. I just wanted something smaller. Keep in mind that the price is different if you purchase through Aliexpress instead of direct from Anbernic. I paid $120 for my RG353V and it included 128gb worth of stuff. So why wouldn't you get the more portable, comfortable, and affordable option? Neither run Saturn games well either. I'd personally wait for a more powerful RG353V to come out in the future and skip the 405V completely. Or just get a 353V now if you want something compact and you don't care about the more modern consoles. Which wouldn't be very enjoyable on the RG405V anyhow.

I have a R36S on the way as well but then saw this was better. But i shoulda read it before i ordered. cancel an order on Ali Express and my £75 would be up to 10 days for refund. So I just stuck with the RG353VS if that is the one without dual boot. I can copy my 128 gb games card that is coming with my R36S. I just saw that the nintendo 64 and dreamcast, PSP and PS1 performance was way way better on this one after i had ordered the R36S. I already have 2 new SANDISK 128 gb and 32 Gb SD cards coming. Based on reviews you are looking at the Retroid pocket 3+ or the 2s, maybe the 2+@@phex911
@@artax33thank you
So if you take out the SIM card you can still access the games through the android side of the system? Can someone explain more for me please?
There are 2 SD cards. One is OS only, the other is all the games. If you remove only the OS SD card, it will boot in Android and you still have access to all games
@@Restalgia awesome! Thank you. Another question what Tomb Raider games are on here?
Great review 👍, appreciate your honest reviews, letting us know what console games does and does not work.
Would a 353VS still worth it for 65€?
I like my VS better then the V only because I didn't want a all in one console. I just wanted something to play only old hand helds on and the VS is awesome for that.
Same os as the Anbernic RG arc D
I would be tempted to buy one of those if I didn't have a PlayStation VITA. It emulates many consoles and plays it's own games of course which are great. And it's OLED screen is better than most mobile screens nowadays. Looks better than my Samsung cellphone.
Yeah I'd be tempted too if my phone didn't do everything the Vita can do but better.
@@Cyko.. Of course, but I rather to use the Vita controls as they are pretty good for a handheld console. And if I want to emulate even better, I have a PC and I can even hack my Xbox Series X with RetroArch, but no need for that. Vita is old dude, of course a cellphone would do better in the sense of performance but it does it's job still until date, that well made it is even after 11 years.
@@rockslash5614 I have a PS Vita and I love it. I actually have a few of them. But my favorite is the one I put over 250 Vita games on it, about 50 PS1 games, and over 300 PSP games. All run perfectly with no issues. I got that one plugin installed that automatically makes Vita games run and look better when needed. As far as emulation goes, it does 32 bit and under (1975s-1995s systems) well, but Daedalus 64 could be better let's be honest.
Can Rg353v run dreamcast well???
Yeah.
Why cant i save games though? Have to start games over every time you play. Wtf is that
So do these devices come with all games or does an extra card need to be bought?
It comes with it in the packaging
I luckily managed to get mine 2nd hand for 45$. Seller's issue was he doesn't now how to boot back to Linux and he thought it was broken. I thought him how to but he just doesn't care about it anymore and sold it to me. It's almost the same price as more powerful handhelds RP2s which is amazing(it's android though) so I can't recommend it either unless it went on sale and you have some vouchers or the price went down because it's becoming older and older and you like the form factor or got it 2nd hand with no issue.
Would pokemon ultra sun work well?
Can we run a gamecube on it ?
Nope
Oh dang, this video was a face-reveal for me haha!
Hopefully I didn't scare you off
Which one do you recommend between the anbernic rg353v, rg35xx plus, and powkiddy rgb30?
Its alittle overwhelming because there are some many to choose from
@@-edsense-rivera3716 it depends on what consoles you want to play.
@@Restalgia I have a couple SD cards that I use for my Steam Deck. I’m going to clear one of them, reformat and then copy all the games that come with the included SD onto that. That way I’ve got some games on a good card while learning to build my own collection.
Hoping that’s a possibility
I wanted to buy a Miyoo Mini Plus but I really need one playing not only PS1 but N64 games. Do you recomment this one better then?
No, n64 will run but it struggles with many common games. You would be better off with RG405M which runs n64 games much better
@@Restalgia I really appreciate your comment, I'm a total ignorant of these handhelds consoles. Thank you
I just want something to play Pokémon games. Which one would you recommend / do they come with the games already?
They do come pre-loaded. Honestly if you just want to play retro gameboy/gameboy advance your better off with Miyoo Mini +. It's cheaper, slightly smaller, same screen size and performance will be the same too. It does have a different UI though, so if that's important you could do the RG353VS.
Pokemon are broken cant save games in mine its a paper weight now.
hopefully you’re still replying to comments but what do you think i should buy? the rg353v, the rg353vs, or the rg35XX plus? which is the best out of the three?
Really depends on what you are after in terms of performance. The rg35xx H is good, but their new rg556 is the best one they have at the moment. I recently did a review of that as well
@@Restalgia do you think i should get one of those or go for one of the more portable handheld ones? (such as the ones i listed) and out of the ones i listed which is best when considering performance and compatibility? for example is the new pro as comparable as the rg353V. i’m sorry for all the questions but i want one really bad, and i was hoping you’d be able to help me narrow down which one i want.
@@Restalgia the plus has more battery life (8hours compared to 6) but is it BETTER than the 353v?
Can you play online games like LoL, Overwatch 2, Paladins?
Is this a serious question?
Good comparison, I didn't actually know this. I managed to get a 353VS for under £30, and for that price it will probably be great. Shipping takes forever though and I'm having to wait another week or so for it to arrive. I'm looking forward to getting it and see what it can do 😊
Have you already receive it for that price?
@@manuel4073 no I have not yet received it. I’m convinced the seller is a scam. I’ve waited since early October but all I get are excuses and pleas be patient…
Where I want to get one
@@dominosnostradamus2415 some Chinese seller from facebook, I was willing to take a chance on it due to the price but I’ve already had to do a chargeback twice 🙄 I’m pretty sure I won’t get one, the first one ad fake tracking, second got delivered to someone the other end of the country 400 miles away and the third is still in transit. 3 different sellers but all scammers.
If it was new it is probably a scam at that price.
Never saw any under 70$
What is the name of the game at 4:00?? Remember playing as a kid but can't remember the name
Adventure island 2 for NES
So these do come with multiple games right?
Yes
I can’t use touch in android 😢
Ca. U play n64 games stock or do that require some tweaking/ modding on your part ?
Why wouldn't you buy the RG405V instead?
The 405v is 2$ US cheaper then the RG353V and has a octa core @ higher clock speed, 4gb ram, a 5500mah battery, 4" screen
This one is smaller so fits better in the pocket I guess
It's too big, and their goal of making an ergonomic shape makes it very uncomfortable for many users. It's over engineered and kind of ugly. Also the hall effect sticks they used aren't very good, sadly. They turn poorly. I just wanted something smaller. Keep in mind that the price is different if you purchase through Aliexpress instead of direct from Anbernic. I paid $120 for my RG353V and it included 128gb worth of stuff. The cheapest RG405V you're going to find is like $160 with 64gb. The only thing the RG405V has over the RG353 is it's ability to run Gamecube/PS2 games... That's it. And it runs them very poorly.
@@purrpocalypse The 405v has a 4" screen, not 3.5"... Has a Octa core @ 2.0Ghz, not a Quad core @1.8Ghz... Has 4GB of ram, Not 2GB... Has Bluetooth 5.0, Not 4.2, Has a 5500mAh battery, not a 3500mAh.. Has 128GB eMMC built in, not 32GB... Has Android 12, Not 11... Plus a nice Mali G52 GPU!! And Hall Effect sticks are the way too go !! The included cards aren't recommend too use.. And who doesn't wanna run Gamecube, Ps2, Wii and 3DS ! (or those harder too run n64, android, sega titles) .. this thing won't even run a single ps2,gamecube or wii game...
@@MarioMadness1 But it's too big. You're missing the point. Also hall effect sticks are great, but NOT the ones in the 405V - They're bad! Also the Gamecube/Ps2/etc games run really poorly on the 405V, making it not worth the extra money. They will lag and it won't be fun. You're much better off waiting for a new version in 1-2 years instead of purchasing it.
Wait did you say you cant play god of war on this? Why is that?
CAN SOME1 HELP MY RG353V GAMES ARE NOT HERE LIKE I ONLY HAVE 8???
Do you have discord I'll help.
I got the + and love it but kind of regret it too. No n64 bc no joystick. 🕹️ you can custom map it but it’s a pain. Will probably get this or the h for the 3D games
Do these come with preloaded games
If you buy from anbernic you have to select the + whatever gb. It tells you there. The base model does not come with games.

Can u play pubg g on the android side??
Can anyone help me get more systems amd roms on my 353p??
I'm still waiting for Anbernic to do a collaboration with Shawn Long to bring out the RGT85 handheld.
Hi are these better than a Sony ps vita ??? Are they better graphics or the screens better 😊
353V does android games as well, correct? Would rocket league sideswipe work on it? The game natively supports controller inputs. If this game worked on the 353v would be enough for me to buy aside from everything else it can do
I own a 353v and it does not come with google play store on the console. There's a video from retro game corps. that shows a way to install it though If you want to take a look at it.
It’s not powerful enough to run rocket league sideswipe.
I picked the wrong one or the right one. I picked the one without dual boot and without any games like an idiot. I don't mind not having dual boot because i have spent enough.
So I will just clone the games and use those. Hope it works. Kinda wish i got dual boot but then like I say I spent too much anyway. And I have enough gaming handhelds I can live with it.
Sorry I suck at typing lol.

I had a question and I didn't have to ask it. Because I seen it with my own eyes.. When the games booted up on the hand helds. I seen Alien VS predator on your RG353VS. Then, in the background, you had it in the arcade, too. So I can tell you like that game.. That was my question: Was that game on the system...😂 I'm gonna order it now... Thanks on the review! 💯
AVP is one the best beat em' ups released!
@@Restalgia Right! It is hard to find! That's one of the main reasons why I bought it yesterday! I was like what a coincidence... It's playing on the little screen now..😂
Really great comparison. I have the Miyoo Mini Plus and while I love it’s pocketability, I have to admit I’m craving something with a larger screen. I feel like 3.5 inches is good for handhelds but kind of does a deservice to older console games which were designed for home TVs.
Is there a similar machine for my 70 year old dad? Larger screen
I’d like to see just one person play a sports game, like QBClub or Madden. Sounds like a lot of tinkering needed to get games to run nicely without crashing.
I just picked up the 353vs for $28 +$6 shipping. I'm pretty stoked I got such a good deal.
