Hand comfort is the #1 thing I'm looking for in my next one. The Miyoo Mini+ would be perfect if it was about 30% larger. I'm glad they're finally making them for adult-sized hands.

I love my unit, looks and kinda feels like a dreamcast controller and a gameboy mixed together. Oversharpening sucks though and I wish more youtubers point it out. I hope gamma os comes out for this device soon

Finally! These handhelds became smaller and smaller and my hands started cramping. My favorite size is the DMG- a few years ago some french guy made such an emulator device in the body of a DMG and kickstarted it... But had a few issues. Happy to see this size😊

For me, I wanted a vertical, Gameboy like device, but I wasn't so sure about buying any of the devices on the market. When this one came out it was love at first sight for that sexy nuclear purple. I. bought it on launch day and I'm completely in love with it.
Also, my gf is happy playing Kingdom Hearts for PS2 and some PSP games ❤
I received mine, and the 34 GB's of games in a second folder in the PSP games folder were already populating when I used Anbernic's front-end, it had no problem locating those without me needing to do anything, they were already there. Maybe your issue with not having them populate was in the Android PPSSPP app?

Mine came in two days ago. And I love it more than my retroid pocket 3+. I mean, playing psp on it is very bad because of the screens aspect ratio, but that doesnt bother me. Its my main retro machine now.
The most important thing is that I have carpal tunnel in my right hand/wrist. This is the first handheld that doesnt give me cramps after hours playing it.
THAT alone is my top selling point.
It's definitely the most comfortable vertical handheld yet. Hopefully in a future version they round out those grips and work on the shoulder buttons. It's great right now but it could be nearly perfect if they fixed a few easy-to-fix issues.

My Nvidia shield is getting a second life again thanks to retroarch, but I am having issues connecting multiple remote/fight sticks). Installed GammaOs beta on my 405v thats on this video at 10:31 but cant change performance mode and it shows 405m/505 under setting instead of 405V. probably best to wait for official release.

I wonder if there's a product which you could easily make a custom grip out of? Something squishy which could be moulded with your hands and then maybe baked in an oven to hardened. That would be uber cooool. 🤔

A while back I got a data frog hand held which was pretty awesome until the internal battery system went kaput.

Temu gave me a full refund for returning everything but the memory card.
I happen to have an Intel compute stick, so I was thinking about seeing if I can get the data frog memory card to work with my compute stick.

This device is like how they made the 2DS from their flip version. This is like how RetroidPocket made the flip. And in some ways, this may be better than, or what the RetroFlip may be missing.

The biggest disappointment for me is the thumb sticks not feeling smooth or accurate it really doesn't make any sense unless its a firmware issue. I could care less about there rom sets easy enough to setup my own card been there done that even though it is nice when you don't need to do this. Interesting device maybe one to own once they fix some issues.
Do you know if the developers of GammaOS are making a version for the Powkiddy X28?
As expected, video's good, addn the device is a bit weird. Have you thought about doing a video about shaders and comparing them?

Hey have you ever thought about making your own hand held given how you’ve reviewed so many different models and that you do like tinkering on your PC’s would you ever try making your own? Granted, I’m not saying sell it because you’re just one person but maybe like make a prototype and then maybe if the prototype does good maybe you can contact some kind of investors. when it’s coming to like these little handheld’s and mini PC’s and even game emulation in general i’ve kind of learned everything from your channel so I think your definitely qualified for this🤩👍

Other question--- you mention this device not having HDMI out , however there is multiple sources saying that it can output video throguh the USB-c port (of course, throught the use of a specific USB-c to HDMI cable or dongle or converter or whatever). Is it possible for you to test this? USB-c itself and Android can certainly do this, however I guess it needs the porper software, in addition to the correct USB-c controller/port, however it might... and apparently it does, according to other souces. in any case, thanks!!

Ehh, nah. I like 'em cute, I like 'em tiny. Yeah, I get hand cramps from playing on small devices, but I don't play them for more than half an hour at a time anyway. And there are better options for big screen gaming (like a PC, lol).
Which one do you prefer? The 405m or the 405v?
I'll go with the 405m, personally, but that's because of the pocket-factor.

How come the vs over the v? Was gonna get the v but is there a benefit that the vs has over it's more expensive, more spec'd out brethren? Or is it just that you don't mind it not having touch screen plus the other features
@@Jaschu-xs9mb I didn't try the V, but I really needed something that simply played retro games. I think the V is too jam packed with features and takes on too much. After playing the VS for a while - I think it would be a pain to have a touch screen.
I know it's for ergonomic reasons, but the rounded front edges kill the design for me.
Still, I'm just waiting for one that can handle Xbox before I pull the plug on it now, playing Blinx The Time Sweeper on the go is my end goal here.
I like the rounded edges, but I wish the grips on the back were rounded too. It's like they got that part backwards!

Question... If i found a deal for 72 euro (at current exchange rate would be below 80$) for this, including the 256gb games card... Would this be good? I guess reason is that the device is a bit "old", probably, at this point... But looks almost too good to me, am I wrong?

I guess i was a little misled on the performamce of this chipset. I figured it would be a little more plug and play with gamecube. After gammaOS on my 405m, im getting nearly every title i put on it to run in a playable state, but with dolphin, i cant run many in vulkan without bad graphical bugs, and with opengl, i have yo heavilt underclock many titles down to like 30-50% to get them smooth. I expected that for ps2, but not gamecube.
So im getting a perfectly playable experience, but id like to see a proper walkthrough on how to set up stuff like ps2 and gamecube on this chipset because i feel like maybe im doing something wrong, being unable to use vulkan on almost any games
Also im not using thr mmjr branch of dolphin, just thr google play store dolphin. Is that perhaps the issue?

Yeah, but the 353PS is pretty darn close. That's also one of the most comfortable handhelds IMO.

Is there a way to get the l2 and r2 buttons to work with android apps? I installed gamma OS and they don't work. I wanted to stream my PC to my rg405v and it works great but I can't use the l2 And r2 buttons

Nope. This is the highest end vertical handheld (that I'm aware of).

I think I still prefer the RG353V. The shape feels just right for me without getting too large, and although that may be because I have small-ish hands, the RG405v just looks like they overdid it. While I would love the extra power for Gamecube games and such, this doesn't feel like an upgrade I would take. Too many drawbacks!
405v for retro dweebs, 405m for classy dweebs. Despite all their flaws anbernic really knows the market.
